About this listing
The Apartment: This colorful and cozy apartment has everything you could possibly need when staying downtown Reykjavik. It is fully furnished with hardwood floors. One double bedroom with a queen size, comfy tempur mattress bed that sleeps two grown ups, (for those with back problems) and open closets. A bright living room with a tv, books and furniture, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, as well as a laundry room where you can clean and dry your clothes. The shower is also located in the laundry room. There is also free wireless internet throughout the apartment. The apartment comes with bedding and towels, soap and shampoo, as well as a list of our favourite things to go and see in the area. It has access to a small but lovely garden with a patio to sit and enjoy the midnight sun. A fun fact about our street is that it has received an award from the Reykjavík city council for being one the most family friendly and coziest street in the downtown area.
Location: The apartment is situated on the ground floor and is in the absolute heart of downtown Reykjavik and is in very short walking distance from all the main sights in the downtown area. Very close to the famous Hallgrím’s church (5min. walk), the main shopping street Laugavegur(10 min walk), the Reykjavik city pond( 10 min walk), The renowned Einar Jónsson art museum(2 min walk), and a beautiful park (7min walk) just down the street to name a few. The area is also filled with charming and cozy restaurants only a few steps away. On Laugavegur (10min walk) you also have all the nicest bars in town, as well as a supermarket close by (7 min walk) and the city’s bus station and a geothermal swimming pool is only about 15 min. away by foot. Even though it’s as central you can get, it’s located in a family friendly neighbourhood and not noisy at all.
The drive to Reykjavik from Keflavik airport should take around 45 minutes. There is a Flybus that can take you to town once you arrive. It´s destination is the bus depot BSI and the apartment is only about 15 min. away if walking, but about 3 minutes by car. There is free parking outside the house.

No smoking in the apartment, no loud parties and please be respectful of our neighbours. Be nice and have a nice stay.
Very good base for a Reykjavik visit - close to the central area with restaurants, shops, and sites, but far enough off the main drags that you get some peace and quiet. We didn't meet Bjorn or his family but were given very detailed directions a few days before we arrived and were able to find it easily.
Spend amazing days in a cosy flat, very central (we used a lot of bus to travel, and the flat is 5/10 minutes walk from BSI). Lars's Father was very cool and helpfull. I recommand it if you want to visit Reykjavik
We did not meet Bjorn, but briefly met sister and parents in passing. It's a fantastic location within easy walking distance of everything, and the little outside space is nice (although it's shared with the cute family dog). The bathroom is indeed small, and the shower situation is a little odd, but not really a problem at all, as it's just through a door to the laundry room which can be otherwise locked. The place could use a bit of a spiff-up, but it's nonetheless a good value compared to Reykavik hotel prices, which is I suppose why you'd be willing to put up with a bit of funk. Don't miss the fantastic pizza place up the street which does take-out.
Björn's place was in a great spot in the city. Close to everything and it was lovely hearing the church bells throughout the day. We never met Björn, but his mother (I assume) greeted us and showed us the place. She was super nice and friendly and helped us out with the laundry machine. The dog, Katur, was also a very friendly and cute dog! The place was not too clean for my tastes, especially the bathroom area and kitchen pots/pans/etc. but the bed was extremely comfy and the nights we spent there were my best sleeps. It was a pleasant stay.
This place was so so lovely. Beautifully decorated, super comfy bed and well equiped kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay. Can fault it at all. Highly recommended. Thanks guys x
Great location, only a couple of minutes walk from the famous church, in a quiet neighborhood. The apartment itself is pretty good sized - I was solo, so it was plenty for me. The bed is comfy, and I used the extra bedding and towels to blackout the window (20+ hours of daylight when I was there), and I had no trouble sleeping well. The bathroom is ridiculously small, so if that's an issue, keep that in mind. And the shower is in the laundry room - literally right behind the door near the bathroom - but it wasn't a big deal to me. I never actually met Bjorn as he was out of own, and I only spoke to his parents (at least that's who I suppose they were) briefly, so I can't really speak to how helpful or knowledgable they are of the area - but they were perfectly nice. And they have a really cute dog (Katur = Happy) that is super friendly.
