Welcome to my beautiful home where you will find all the comforts of home from home. My home is situated just 5 minutes walk from the beautiful Salthill promenade. The bus stops outside my house which will take you into the city center in 10 minutes or alternatively you can walk along the sea front and breath in the fresh invigorating Atlantic air!
I offer a complimentary breakfast of juice, fresh fruit, eggs, tea/coffee with homemade brown and white scones and preserves There are laundry facilities available at a moderate fee. Although from the calender it may look as though I am booked, in fact I have a second room of the same standard which can be viewed in my photo lineup, so please contact me regarding availability. In addition, I have a single bedroom which is available for an additional guest/child in your party.
My home is situated in the village of Salthill which has an array of coffee shops, restaurants and night life. The beautiful promenade runs into the oldest part of Galway, the Claddagh, and from there to the Spanish Arch and the Latin Quarter of Galway.
The city offers a wonderful eclectic mix of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and shops. In addition, it is a medieval city with numerous walking tours, theaters, art galleries and all that Galway as the cultural capital of Ireland has to offer. At the weekend, it hosts a farmer's market in front of the medieval St. Nicholas' Cathedral where you can meet the locals and tourists, the famous and not so famous in search of artisan food, jewellery and crafts. For those looking for more rugged landscape, Galway is the gateway to Connemara, renouned for its wild, beautiful and romantic scenery. There are many bus tours to take you to Connemara and the Arran Islands so a car is not a necessity. The Cliffs of Moher are another 'must' and the tour bus will collect you at my home. From Dublin Airport and Dublin City a non-stop bus gets you to Galway in under 3 hours! So why not come here and sample the delights of a truly unique city...and a very warm welcome from Kathryn!!

Public transport in Galway is excellent and the bus stop is out side my home. It will take you into the city center in 10/15 minutes. Transport from Dublin city and Dublin airport is frequent and always on time with two companies operating every half hour.
We had the most perfect stay at Kathryn's place in Salthill. Her home is beautiful and warm and arranged with so much love, Kathryn is a very hearty and open woman with the best recommendations and the bedroom we had was just perfect: a cozy bed with a down blanket and many pillows, an empty wardrobe with lots of space for your clothes, a big window that makes the room bright and even more friendly and an en-suite bathroom with everything you need! We will definitely book again with Kathryn if we come back to Galway and I can recommend her to everyone on airbnb!
Wonderful location with a warm, welcoming host! The house was clean and the accommodations were as expected from the pictures. Breakfast each morning was delicious and more than enough. Morning chats with Kathryn were also a highlight of our stay. She had great tips on where to eat and where to park. She was also very gracious with our 2yr old, which made the stay that much more comfortable. This was our first time using Airbnb and from this experience, we would happily use it again!
Super place, super host!
Our stay with Kathryn was excellent. She has a lovely home, and is is an exceptional host. We were in Galway for a family wedding and Kathryn's home was only 5 mins walk from the reception hotel on the promenade, her local knowledge extended to knowing the church we were going to.
Our room was great, and breakfast was an enjoyable experience, sharing conversation with Kathryn. Although the weather was fine for November, we feel we will have to return to see Galway and kathryn in the summer months.
Kathry is the most perfect host we have ever experienced. I stayed with my family at her place and she and Maud made us feel welcome every single day. We enjoyed their company so much. We had a great time in this beautiful house with its tastefully furnished rooms and cleanliness. Thank you very much.
Kathryn is a wonderful host; she welcomed me & my family with a smile and explained to us Galway attractions in details, places to eat included. The house is absolutely gorgeous and clean, located in a nice area, just 5 minutes form the center. The breakfast in the bright veranda is a MUST. Recommended to all visitors to Galway!
It was a pleasure meeting Kathryn and staying in her lovely home. The home is beautiful , comfortable and convenient to Salthill , the beach, and Galway City. We appreciated her recommendations for our bus trip, dinners, and for the tours. Our stay in Salthill/Galway was lovely despite our frustration with not having luggage. We also appreciated the help given in hooking up with our luggage. It was a wonderful place to stay!

What a wonderful experience we had at Kathryn's B&B! Her home is beautiful and the location is perfect. The bus to Galway is a few houses away and it is a short walk to the Salthill waterfront with its wonderful restaurants. The best part of the experience was Kathryn herself. She shared great ideas for things to do, made reservations for us to do them, and was the perfect B&B host. I have been staying in B&B's for decades and this is definitely one of the best.
Our stay with Kathryn was lovely! The room was comfortable, and the fact that it was an en suite was very convenient. Kathryn's breakfasts were amazing -- above and beyond the call of duty. We enjoyed chatting with her about Galway and literature and many other topics. She was a perfect host, even picking us up from the train station and giving us a car tour of Galway to orient us on our first night in town. If we find our way back to Galway some day, we will definitely try to stay with Kathryn and Maude again.
Kathryn is an incredibly generous and warm-hearted host with a gorgeous home and a fantastic location. The room and home are exactly as beautiful as the pictures show. My girlfriend and I only stayed there for one night but we wished we could have stayed for more.
The best part of the stay was talking to her over a lovely breakfast in the morning about her airbnb experience. She is extremely knowledgeable about the area and we would recommend everyone to stay with her if you're passing through Galway! Don't forget to pet her dog Maud!
