The bus stops outside my house which will take you into the city center in 10 minutes or alternatively you can walk along the sea front and breath in the fresh invigorating Atlantic air!
I offer a complimentary breakfast of juice, fresh fruit, eggs, tea/coffee with homemade brown and white scones and preserves There are laundry facilities available at a moderate fee. Although from the calender it may look as though I am booked, in fact I have a second room of the same standard which can be viewed in my photo lineup, so please contact me regarding availability. In addition, I have a single bedroom which is available for an additional guest/child in your party.
My home is situated in the village of Salthill which has an array of coffee shops, restaurants and night life. The beautiful promenade runs into the oldest part of Galway, the Claddagh, and from there to the Spanish Arch and the Latin Quarter of Galway.
The city offers a wonderful eclectic mix of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and shops. In addition, it is a medieval city with numerous walking tours, theaters, art galleries and all that Galway as the cultural capital of Ireland has to offer. At the weekend, it hosts a farmer's market in front of the medieval St. Nicholas' Cathedral where you can meet the locals and tourists, the famous and not so famous in search of artisan food, jewellery and crafts. For those looking for more rugged landscape, Galway is the gateway to Connemara, renouned for its wild, beautiful and romantic scenery. There are many bus tours to take you to Connemara and the Arran Islands so a car is not a necessity. The Cliffs of Moher are another 'must' and the tour bus will collect you at my home. From Dublin Airport and Dublin City a non-stop bus gets you to Galway in under 3 hours! So why not come here and sample the delights of a truly unique city...and a very warm welcome from Kathryn!!

We loved our 3 night stay with Kathryn in Galway. Great hospitality, quiet area, comfortable room and a wonderful breakfast to start the day. Good location with bus stop outside the front door. We enjoyed our conversations with Kathryn.
We didn't get to meet Kathryn, but we felt welcome enough. The house and rooms are very clean. If you are someone who needs warmth, make sure you communicate that need as the heat sometimes cut off from a master switch somewhere in the home. The breakfast was very good. The walk to the promenade is more like 10 minutes. The bus is very handy and close by. Make sure you get the day pass if you plan on going on the bus more than twice.
We were greeted by Kathryn's daughter who welcomed us warmly and directed us to our room. She was a big help in orienting us to the Promenade area of Salthill so that we could walk to a supper destination ; we welcomed the walk after a long car drive down from Waterford. Kathryn's home is lovely--clean and charming and near Galway. Private bath had all we needed. Breakfast prepared by Rebekah was generous. A lovely spot!
We had a really nice stay at Kathryn's house. Just few minutes after we arrived, she was telling us where to go in Galway and Connemara...
It's just the perfect B&B, and excellent location to visit Galway ((min by car) and Connemara
