The Space

This quiet peaceful Austrian chalet,is only a few blocks awayfrom all the shops, cafes, and restaurants, but world's away for a restful get away. I have found many guests to sleep 10-13 hours! Listen to the birds chirping, watch the family of deer come in for breakfast in the garden, or watch flight practice of the hawks onto the tips of the nearby trees! nature is all around me! Free parking, a huge bonus! no tickets or expensive parking ! Fabulous water views of the sailboats bobbing in the marina below, as you sit and enjoy your morning coffee out on the private deck. It is an easy walk to everything in town, the French cafe at the beach, the wonderful breakfast cafes, the ferry to the city, the art galleries, and bike rental. Great Mexican restaurant only 4 blocks away! enjoy the cozy wood burning fireplace, or bar b q on the deck. Come learn how to sail! I teach sailing lessons, $25/hour , per person, or simply come have a nice sail! Grocery store 4 blocks away, bus, 4 blocks away, cafes and restaurants within 10 -15 blocks.

  • Wonderful experience! Dianne was a delightful hostess, engaging, friendly, knowledgeable about the area, where to go, how to get there.. etc. Her home is a delight-I had morning coffee on the deck overlooking the bay and it was just divine. My room was cozy, cheery and fun. I'll be back for certain!

  • Stayed with Dianne for the weekend and had a lovely time. Dianne was an excellent host. She gave us great restaurant recommendations, baked us banana muffins in the morning and even offered to take us sailing. Her place also has a spectacular view. Would love to return sometime soon =)

  • Wonderfully quiet and peaceful place to stay nestled up on a hill with beautiful views of Sausalito. Dianne was very pleasant and respectful. Would stay here again and would recommend it to others as well.

  • Dianne was a friendly and helpful hostess. She was available when we arrived and answered all of our questions. Her house was unique and beautiful with an amazing view of the bay. It was a convenient place to stay while exhibiting at the Sausalito Art Festival.
The guest room I shared with my sister was cluttered and not as clean as I would have expected.

  • Dianne has a gracious comfortable spirit and a beautiful home.

This was our first Airbnb experience and the bar has been set very high.

You will enjoy your stay with Dianne, she shares her knowledge of the area and will do everything to make you as comfortable as possible.

    Thanks, Dianne! :)

  • Dianne was very nice and served us coffee and fresh fruit for breakfast. The view was amazing from this rustic cabin and the location was centrally located to all the hotspots in Sausalito.

The bed is only a Full / Double and on the firm side - a bit uncomfortable for my 6' 1" husband and me to share. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

  • What a beautiful, rustic home on the hill! Open fireplace for chilly evenings, large, serene deck with a 180 view of the Sausalito Bay and the best shower anyone could imagine! Diane is professional, thoughtful and thoroughly enjoyable. It was hard to leave, but we know we've only just begun a friendship.

Hi everyone! My name is Dianne and I love living in Sausalito. I enjoy everything about the outdoors; sailing, kayaking, rowing, hiking, gardening, biking, you name it. Also love playing dominoes and backgammon. As a native San Franciscan, I've enjoyed every moment of living here. Traveling the world is my passion, with Italy at the top of the list. Lago di Como and Villa D'este have a special place in my heart! I love teaching women how to sail,(so they feel competent and confident) and now teach couples, families, corporate bonding on my sailboat. I have sailed the Caribbean, Hawaii, Greek Isles, San Francisco Bay, the South Pacific. I also take children out sailing who have cancer, and their families for simply a fun day, to enjoy, and get away from it all! I graduated from UC Berkeley, and have affiliations with Marin Rowing, University of Washington,( especially the crew team) and with the University of Oregon and USC. Send me a message with any questions you have, and I look forward to hosting you at my Sausalito home. Ciao!
