  • We had a wonderful time at ChezJosephine. The B&B was perfect, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was very delicous. Josephine was a wonderful host with so many great ideas what to do in Nice & the surrounding area. We loved her cute dog Rocco. If you're going to Nice - this is the perfect place to stay!

  • I had a wonderful and funny time staying by Josephine for five days, july 2013. She gave me many advices, just what I needed and when I needed, all these days, to experience Nice in a good and effective way. She was the hostess that knew when to be sosial, and when we needed privacy. It is up to you!
I found both Josephine, my orange room and the sorroundings very charming. From the apartment it was easy to catch both tram, train and the flightbus. Only few minutes, and I reached beach and the old city or museums. Josephine held all clean and properly. The bed was nice with both a good madrass and pillow. It was no problem chearing bathroom. Rocco was a charming dog with good behavior.
I definetly want to come back to Nice, the nice city, and of course meet Josephine again and hopefully continue our interesting and joyable talkings.
Miss it all after coming home to Norway. 6 stars from me!

    Response from Josephine:

Thank you Grete, it really was a pleasure to meet you & I also enjoyed our chats. A few more days & we could solve all the world's problems. It is SO hot here, I wish I was in Norway!!! Come back soon. Rocco sends a wag of his tail. Best Regards, Josephine

  • She is relentlessly amazing in all ways possible. Her dog is the definition of a boss, and you should get to know him. The location is grand, if you're looking to be a little bit out of the way and actually experience life as a local. Breakfast, is, French, and lovely. Bread, tons of spreads, she remembers what you have in your coffee, and, has good conversation. She knows the area like the back of her hand (chang), and gives extremely good insider advice on which places to avoid, and what are must sees. She helped me get my baggage (which was lost) and sent it to me even after I left Nice.

Give her all your money, and enjoy everything that is perfect about Chez Josephine. Also, the front door to the complex is very silent.

    Response from Josephine:

It is true; the front entrance is silent :)
I am happy that you enjoyed Nice, & delighted to hear you got your luggage back. Good luck to you both in the future. Love too from Rocco (the dog).

  • it was a very nice time in her home. very clean. location is good. :)

    Response from Josephine:

Thank you. I hope you & your Mom enjoyed the rest of your stay in France.

  • The experience @ChezJosephine was great.
The B&B is located in a central area, close to the station and the sea, clean, pleasant and beautiful. Josephine is a very nice person and an awesome host. She replied to the request immediately, sent us all the details and provided a very good experience, both with the room and the breakfast. She takes care of every details, and this makes a big difference.
I would recommend everybody to stay there.

  • A very comfortable B&B in Nice. Great location. Great Room. Great Bed.
Josephine was a great host. Helped us with everything from trains to restaurants to the best beaches. We recommend her B&B if you need a convient place in Nice.

  • Chez Josephine was a perfect place to enjoy b&b travelling in Nice. Josephine was very helpful when we were asking how to get here and there in Nice, her advises were just the right ones. I liked the way she used to have a chat wtih us in the mornings.
The location of her apartmant is perfect for a traveller, very easy to get there by bus or by train and later on to use the tram in Nice.
Now in my memories I will allways remenber Nice and Josephine and the kind little dog Rocco :-) and without doubt can suggest her place to all b&b travellers.

  • We had a great stay at Chez Josephine. The location isn't the best in terms of being a long walk from the Old Town but the trams run regularly and tram stop only 2 min walk from the apartment.
The whole apartment was immaculately clean and the house has a nice feel. The only comment I would make was that we found some house rules a little unnecessary (we're adults, not high school students) - don't roll suitcases around the room, wipe down the shower with a glass wiper after each use, don't use an electric fan all night b/c it would waste electricity. I guess some more inconsiderate guests must need this type of strict instructions, we didn't.

Apart from that Jo was great and the breakfast provided quite good too.
Good value for money but location is quite a wander to the beach.

  • Stayed 3 nights. Breakfast was always great. The host was eccentric, (in a good way) and it was pleasant chatting with her over coffee and croissants. 15 minutes walk from the beach, the same from vieux Nice. Quite close to the train/bus station, shopping, cafés, et cætera. A good place for a couple on a budget. Not ideal if you're insistent on privacy and quiet, as it's more or less a large appartment which accomodates you, other guests, and the host.

  • The Orange room is a great space, very comfortable for 1-2 people. Staying at Chez Josephine's is very handy to the train station 5 minutes away and the tram line 30 seconds away. Her directions on her website are very easy to follow to get to her place. Josephine is lovely, very welcoming, helpful and knowledgable of many aspects in the area. She can recommend many places. She provides a lovely breakfast and is always up for a chat. She provided me with hot chocolate as an alternative to tea/coffee. Rocco the dog loves a pat. It is a bit noisy but you can easily sleep if you keep busy sightseeing and are tired! The bed is wonderfully comfortable. The wifi is also handy. Josephine keeps the apartment immaculate. It is a good, central place to stay.

I am Scottish by birth and spent most of my working life in San Francisco as a wine steward/food server from (phone number hidden). I went back to Scotland to take care of my mother, & when she died I sold her house & eventually found myself in Nice. I took over my B&B in July 2010 & joined Airbnb in Nov. 2010. So far, so good : ) I am an avid reader, & if I can find someone to play with, a fiendish backgammon player. I love my little dog, Rocco. It's a pity he can't play backgammon. I am happy to advise my guests on what to see & do in & around Nice, or just leave them to their own devices, as they prefer. Life motto? Be here now.
