We really enjoy traveling and our home features artwork and traditional crafts collected from our travels. We are happy to suggest activities you might enjoy during your stay.
I currently live in the home with one son (ages 17) who is pleasant and helpful. We are quite active with work, school and other activities, so we are gone quite a bit, but enjoy meeting people and chatting with guests when the occasion presents itself.
We have one dog, Lolita, a small cocker spaniel that is pretty calm in her old age.
There is lots to do in the area!
Some of my favorite places within walking distance include: Lake of the Isles, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Walker Art Center, the Jungle Theater, Spyhouse Coffee Shop, French Meadow Bakery & Cafe, the Wedge Co-op.
There are a variety of wonderful ethnic restaurants within walking distance: Vietnamese, Chinese, German, Indian, Mexican, Greek, and more.
For those that prefer to explore the area by bike, we are located near a Nice Ride bicycle rental station, with easy access to bike paths and bike boulevards.
I am happy to make recommendations of things to do that match your interests and budget. During the summer, taking a free sailboat ride on Lake Calhoun is a great option! Minnesota has a great Renaissance Festival in the fall. Ice skating at the historic Depot in downtown is charming any time of the year!
I hope you enjoy your stay and visit to Minneapolis!

I had a great trip while visiting Minneapolis and staying in the Grand House with Tracy and her son. Very clean and organized, and I really appreciated being able to use a full kitchen. My bedroom was quiet at night, and the bathroom was spacious. Super convenient location to uptown and downtown Minneapolis too!
Thanks for sharing your home with me during my visit to Minneapolis. The room you provided had everything I needed; a comfortable bed, a desk, an arm chair and a walk in closet. I had come to Minneapolis for a convention so being close to the downtown area made it easy to get to the meetings on time. I could walk (about 25 minutes) or take the bus in to town. I found good restaurants within walking distance and even a natural foods market close by. But the coolest thing were the "Nice Ride" rental bikes that were easy to rent. I rode about a mile west to Lake of the Isles park where there are bike riding paths around this lake and two others. Wonderful scenery. I have been to Minneapolis many times before and have always stayed in hotels. I was surprised to find out how much I enjoyed ending my days in a room of my own, in a house, in a residential neighborhood at night. Steve
The Grandhouse is in such a nice and convenient location! Easy access to Mill City, downtown and uptown. I loved my stay here, though short, there is a nearby French Meadow Bakery that I liked for tea and food. I also found a yoga studio less than a mile away - too perfect.
Tracy was very welcoming and kind. I was greeted by her and her dog. The room I stayed in was comfortable and nice. Enjoyed my stay!
I enjoyed staying with Tracy at the Grand House a lot! The house is comfortable, and Tracy and her family are really inviting and pleasant. If I visit Minneapolis in the future, I would definitely stay there again, and I'll recommend it to friends.
Tracy and her children are lovely, as is her dog. They all were friendly and helpful. Tracy was very thoughtful about breakfast, too. The bedroom was large and bright. The location was excellent, close to uptown and downtown.
I stayed here for 12 nights and had a wonderful time. Tracy and her family are warm, kind people and their home is beautiful. I felt at home, loved my light-filled spacious room, with comfortable bed, lovely furniture and artworks, and plenty of wardrobe space. Neighbourhood is stunning, I enjoyed walking around the area and to Eat Street and Uptown. Minneapolis is a fabulous city. I loved the friendly people, great food (delicious and healthy options are everywhere, and visited the Mill City farmers market and Stone Bridge Festival), natural beauty (leafy streets, lakes), the Arts institute, Science museum and theatre (saw Clybourne Park at the Guthrie - highly recommend this show and theatre). Also recommend having a drink at the Prohibition Bar at the Foshay hotel. Thank you Tracy!
I had a nice stay in the Grand house! The house is close to downtown (about 20min by foot). Tracy and her kids were helpful and friendly (and their dog...super charming). The bed was very confortable. If you look for something in Minneapolis, go for the Grande house.
Tracy and her family were great hosts. I was very happy with the accommodations. Would visit again!
Tracy and her family were very welcoming hosts. We were first-time Airbnb users, and we were glad to be so warmly welcomed. The room was very nice, spacious, and clean. Tracy was extremely responsive and gave great instructions for our arrival and access to the house. This is a great place to stay in a great neighborhood in Minneapolis. I would definitely recommend staying at Tracy's house!
Tracy and her family were very warm and welcoming! I really enjoyed my stay at the Grand house and felt at home from the first minute I arrived. The room was spacious and comfortable, conversations were lively and genuine, and the neighborhood was walkable and safe. I hope to cross paths again some time!
