Interaction with Guests
Case-by-case: it depends on how much guests want to interact. Sometimes I cook a meal, of share a coffee or go out with guests - sometimes guests just want to do their own thing. I'm fine with either.
As a rule, make yourself at home! Shoes off at the door, please. ....Oh and please, leave towels to dry in the bathroom, don't take them into the bedroom and drape them over furniture or (eek!) leave them on the bed. That's about it.
Alice made my first Airbnb experience easy and I really appreciated that. Her detailed directions made getting to the apartment and settling in very easy. The accommodations were exactly what was described and I had a great night's sleep. This was just a one night stay but I will definitely be back. Thanks!
Alice was very clear about what could be felt as negative points: No escalator + the fact she was sleeping in the living room.
For me that was not an issue at all. The place has a GREAT location and Alice was helpful in scheduling my time in New York.
Alice was very hospitable! I enjoyed my stay in her beautiful Greenwich Village apt. She gave me wonderful recommendations for dinner, shopping, night-life, coffee, and breakfast. I had THE best time and her place is no more than a 5 to 10 minute walk from all of these gems. If you want the quintessential village experience, look no further! (Also the bed is super comfy and natural lighting is gorgeous.)
The apartment was just as Alice described it and she was the perfect host. Greenwich Village is a charming section of the city and was the perfect location for me to visit my son at NYU. Alice is very knowledgable about Greenwich Village and the surrounding neighborhoods. Her recommendations were very helpful and her directions were quite accurate. She told me several times to text her if I needed any assistance while I was out and about in the city. She offered me a pass to her gym. I had a headache the first night I was there and Alice offered me Advil and a coldpack for my neck and head. She even arranged for a car service to take me to the airport the day of my departure. I also appreciate her efforts to ensure that I knew beforehand that stairs were involved and that the listing was a private room rather than an entire apartment. In short, Alice made my visit easier and more enjoyable! What more could you ask for from a host?
Alice was very welcoming and friendly, and gave us loads of advice on how to make the best of our time in New York. The apartment is compact but clean and comfortable, and the location couldn't be better. The bed is also very comfy.
If you're new to New York and need a bit of handholding or want to pick the brains of someone who knows the city well, it's ideal. As Alice makes clear, you do have to be comfortable sharing someone else's space in close proximity.
Host Alice adjusted graciously to my flight delay due to snowstorm on first day of Spring. Her description of her space was accurate. The natural light in her Greenwich Village apartment was an unexpected plus. The location in the heart of the Village was terrific. Alice had good recommendations for eating places nearby. Love that local knowledge, willingly shared. A fine initial airbnb experience
Alice was a welcoming host who was courteous and eager to assist during my stay in her clean and pleasant apartment. She is knowledgeable about New York City and eager to assist guests enjoy their stay.
I've lived in The Village for a really long time and love it. NYC offers a wonderful lifestyle. I ride my bike everywhere, love going to the theater and am a fanatic about working out! I do triathlon, open-water swimming in the Hudson and have recently become addicted to Zumba.
I've traveled a lot in Europe, visiting the UK, Ireland, France, Portugal, Germany, and Austria. I've also been to Turkey and seen the gateway to Asia. But these days, I'm more into staycations, so it's exciting that the world loves to come here.
I'm a media maven: I subscribe to way too many magazines, watch way too much TV and too many movies, and The NY Times Book Review is my favorite weekly reading.
I love to cook, revel in good conversation and think a good laugh makes a better day.
