The Space

Cozy, sunny apt on a tree-lined street in the heart of the West Village. On the top floor, facing south, in a landmarked brownstone - my surprisingly quiet flat has all the comforts of home: living room, dining area, kitchen, bath and bedroom with a full-sized bed. Linens and towels are provided for your stay. Enjoy the rainforest shower or nose-to-toes bathtub. Hi-speed internet connection is also provided.

I cook a lot at home and would be happy to extend the courtesy of preparing meals for you during your stay, but the kitchen is also available for your use.

I've been in NYC for a long time and absolutely love it - I'd love to help you get the most out of your stay - whether you enjoy sports, the theater, music, museums, clubs nightlife or are a foodie, I'm sure I can help maximize your time in town.

Close to all nYc attractions including Times Square, Broadway, museums, Central Park, Wall Street, Ground Zero, the Meatpacking district, Bleeker St., the Highline, great shopping, all subways, bus lines and rail stations. Not to mention it’s located in one of the best neighborhoods in the world.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers!

  • I had a good time at Alice's, she was very a helpful and thoughtful host. Her place is beautifully located. Greenwich Village is great. Gentler on the senses, I find, than other parts of town, so stepping out is a real pleasure. Central to so many great music venues and the Blue Note Cafe. Also it's a nice stroll to the wonderful Washington Square. The neighbourhood is very safe to walk day and night. I found it an easy walk to places like Soho, Chelsea, Meatpackers etc. and the subway is just around the corner.
The apartment was always clean. Bringing a heavy suitcase to the 4th floor was a bit of a challenge but Alice helped me with the last landing. Having said that it I liked living up on the fourth floor. Alice is a very knowledgable person with a wealth of experience. She came with me to a couple of places which really made the experience as she is so outgoing. Thanks Alice.

  • Alice welcomed we warmly in her cozy apartment in Greenwich Village. I had stayed most of the time in Washington Square Hotel but since they were full I decided to try Airbnb for the first time in my life. I don't regret. I mean I love the hotel but meeting people is what's nicest when travelling. I personally do not care for the sights that much. It is nicest to bump into interesting people when you are travelling. Like the black man I started talking to at Washington Square Park. After learning that I was from Finland he started talking finnish to me. My jaw dropped. He had worked in Finland for 3 years in the 50's.
Anyways, as Alice points out, the location could not be better. I have stayed in the hotel earlier mentioned for 5 times so it is clear I love the neighbourhood.
The apartment is very clean and Alice does her best to make you feel at home. At the arrival she immediately started telling me what I could do and where to eat.
I slept on a bedsofa in the living room, the sofa was very comfortable. She had put clean sheets for me and clean towels.
One thing made me especially glad. When I packed my stuff I forgot a pair of new shoelaces on the sofa and left the apartment. I went to get the rest of my luggage from the hotel where I had stayed. When I was stepping in to the taxi to go to the airport I heard somebody call my name. There comes Alice with my shoelaces. She knew that I would go to get my stuff from the hotel (a 5 min walk) and ran after me to bring the laces. Very nice! Thank you one more time.
I would recommend Alice's place warmly for your New York visit.
Oh, I almost forgot. Look at the price!

  • An awesome experience with Alice from start to finish, for someone that had never used Airbnb before. Quick to respond to e-mails and very easy to get the booking confirmed and arrangements made. Extremely welcoming before I arrived ensuring there were no problems, and thoroughly enjoyable and personable whilst my stay was taking place. A well kept, clean, friendly apartment right in the heart of the Greenwich village with easy access to the subway, and easy strolls for all directions of Manhattan. Alice was more than able to provide excellent diner and restaurant recommendations, and share her experiences from the great city of New York. I know I'll be back in NYC one day, and wouldn't hesitate to touch base with her to see if she could host me again. Can't get a better recommendation than someone wanting to return.

  • Alice was a complete joy to stay with! The apartment was exactly as described, the neighborhood was indeed quiet, and I felt at home the moment I arrived. Alice has a breadth of NYC knowledge and is more than willing to help you with attractions (touristy and off the beat track) or trip planning AND is also respectful of your privacy. I would totally recommend staying here as it is central to many spots in the City and Alice (email hidden)!

About
I've lived in The Village for a really long time and love (website hidden) offers a wonderful lifestyle. I ride my bike everywhere, love going to the theater and am a fanatic about working out! I do triathlon, open-water swimming in the Hudson and have recently become addicted to Zumba. I've traveled a lot in Europe, visiting the UK, Ireland, France, Portugal, Germany, and Austria. I've also been to Turkey and seen the gateway to Asia. But these days, I'm more into staycations, so it's exciting that the world loves to come here. I'm a media maven: I subscribe to way too many magazines, watch way too much TV and too many movies, and The NY Times Book Review is my favorite weekly reading. I love to cook, (so if you come to stay I can make your favorites!), revel in good conversation and think a good laugh makes a better day.
