The Space

Welcome to the Belltown Crash Pad of Awesome. I see my place as an Alternative to the Hosteling experience in Seattle.

I live in in a 317 sq ft (29.6 sq meters) Studio Apartment and I'm opening up my Futon to travelers who want an inexpensive place to "crash" while in Seattle.

I do live here as well and sleep in my "room" that is divided by Japanese Shoji Screens and a Curtain to try and give as much privacy as possible in a small space.

If you want a video tour before you book look up "Belltown Crash Pad of Awesome" on that popular video sharing site. This should demystify any questions you might have had about the place. But make sure you watch until the end.

With that, the apartment isn't the only place you'd have access to while you stay.

We have a brand new Lounge and Gym. The Lounge has TV, Internet and a Full Kitchen to use for entertaining. We also have a rooftop with Hammocks, Grills and a Fire Pit to take the load off after a tiresome day. What else could you need?

Guest Access

You'll get your own Key and Key Fob so you'll have in and out access into the building.

In the apartment you can use everything outside of my desk and bed. Those include:

A TV with Roku and DVD player attached
The Internet
The Stove and Microwave
The Dining Room Bar Table
Washer and Dryer

You're allowed to use the Gym, Lounge and Roof as well; just don't bring back friends cause some tenants in the building have been complaining that non-residents are using the amenities. 1~2 people can go un-noticed 5~6 and then we start to have problems.

Interaction with Guests

I wouldn't call my life hectic but it's very involved. I have various side business and social obligations though out the week that usually keeps me pretty busy. I'll like not be home when you arrive.

I work a 9-5 (my hours are 10-7 though) M-F. On Tuesday and Thursday I host Pub Quiz from 8-10 and 7-9 respectively. On my off days I like to be social going to a local board game or Friday night happy hour. Every first and third Saturday I host Pokemon Tournaments in Lynnwood, WA.

Feel free to ask me any and all questions about the city and what to do, I love to give out my knowledge and such.

The Neighborhood

One would say that the building is centrally located in the heart of Belltown which is in the heart of the city as well. You can quickly get to many of Seattle's most visited neighborhoods either by walking, bus or car. These include: Downtown, Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, Ballard, Fremont, Wallingford, U-District West Seattle and Pioneer Square.

The Downtown core of Seattle is very walk able section of the city. You can get to most of the main attractions in "minutes"

5 Minutes: Belltown Restaurants and Bars

10 Minutes: Seattle Center, Pike Place Market, Downtown Shopping Core, Light Rail

15 Minutes: Lower Queen Anne, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Convention Center

25 Minutes: South Lake Union, Pioneer Square

Getting around

If you need a bus then you're in the right place. We have many buses directly in front of the building that lead to points North of Seattle.

1- Queen Anne/Kinnear
2- Queen Anne (West)
3- Queen Anne (East)
4- Queen Anne (East)
5- Shoreline/Greenwood via Phinney Ridge
13- Queen Anne/Seattle Pacific University
24/33- Magnoila
358-Shoreline via Aurora Ave (soon to be replaced with Rapid Ride E)

Across the Street you can find Buses Leading South of Seattle

C-West Seattle
7- South Seattle
16- Seattle Ferry Station
36- Othello Station
54- White Center
56- Alki Beach

Lastly a few others that are only a 5 minute walk away

8- Capitol Hill
26/28/40- Fremont

  • Chaz's crash pad of awesome was great! It's a nice little condo able to accommodate me and me friend slept fine on the pull out couch. We were impressed how accommodating the host was showing us the back ropes of the awesome food and fire.. It was great! We def look forward to staying with Chaz again with our next seattle mini-vacation sometime again! Great deal and good location! :D did I mention where was the fire at?

  • Chaz was nice and helped us out on our stay in Seattle. He respected our privacy and was a great guy.

  • Great location. I didn't see host but he was very good at responding to inquiries. Didn't find the sheets!

  • Our stay with Chaz was great! Make sure to read his information clearly (unlike myself who was unclear with the arrival process). In response, Chaz was easy to contact and always tries his best to accommodate his guests. He met us in Fremont to show us around on his Saturday off and we shared a fun and relaxing night in cooking, eating, drinking, and binge watching the amazing race. Good times :)

More importantly, his location is ideal and his apartment building and room feels safe, clean, and modern. Belltown is a great place to be to explore Seattle.

  • My stay at Chaz's crash pad was great. Chaz is very organized. I was let in the building and given a key immediately. The place is clean and has everything you would need. He is a helpful guy and knows Seattle well, he gets back to you right away with questions. As for the location, it is perfect if you are navigating by public transit. The bus station is right outside the lobby door. Belltown is full of young professionals. A block away is a row of bars and restaurants that offer happy hour and get very active at night. Take 1st Ave to Pikes market, along the way is numerous restaurants and shops. I tried the pho place across the street and it was great! The wifi lobby area is a good size, fit with couches, tables, a full kitchen, pool table, gym and cable TV. I never saw it crowded or loud. I plan to stay on a future trip.

I'm a guy motivated to have many varied experiences throughout life. I believe that life is fun and there are so many people in the world that we can learn from and I want be a part of situations that allow me to grow as a person. I'm friendly and outgoing even if I'm a little shy when you first meet me. I love being around people but sometimes I like to take a step back and have time for self reflection and de-stressing. I don't usually have a typical week. I can be Playing Board Games one night, Going to Trivia another night, Karaoke or a Movie. Sometimes it can be quite chill having a dinner party with my friends relaxing on the roof or just being creative working on a game idea and short stories. It's safe to call me a geek and a nerd because I embody elements of both. I'm really into Video Games, Movies and Cartoons. I do enjoy the random Comic or Anime but not as much as I have before. When I get together with my friends we'll go on about things like "what'll happen in Kingdom Hearts III" or "Here's the thematic link between Chrono Trigger's Time Machine Epoch and the game". And if you're looking at this saying 0_0, don't worry I'm not always a know a portmanteau of geek and nerd. Oops I did it again. Well I'm not being a gerd, you can find me going out with friends. Taking in local bands, going to art galleries or the random house/theme party. Any reason to meet new people and share an experience sounds good to me. In recent years my mantra has become "Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted". I know some people have issues with that statement, but for me It just means that the world and how people perceive it is ever changing. If you get stuck just thinking one way then the world will leave you behind. I'm a guy trying to make his way and achieve his dreams. So the question is, where will you be written in the page of my life?
