The Space

This south side 1 bedroom apartment is on the fourth floor of a modern redbrick apartment building and less than a 10 minute walk to Dublin’s best restaurants, bars, and Temple Bar and Grafton Street. Enjoy your morning coffee on the roof garden, which overlooks the stunning St. Patrick’s Cathedral and park.
This bright apartment has 1 bedroom with a very comfortable king size memory foam mattress, bedside tables with touch sensitive lights, chest of drawers and fitted closets. Should you have extra guests, there is an extra double mattress that can be set up on the living room floor.

We have a Netflix account that you can access during your stay here.

Dublin’s best cafes and restaurants are less than a 10 minute walk away, but if you want a good home cooked meal, the fully equipped kitchen comes with plenty of cookware, dishware, cutlery, a full-sized refrigerator and freezer, an electric oven and stove top, dishwasher, food processor, coffee grinder, drip coffee makers, espresso maker (we love coffee) amongst other gadgets. There is plenty of tea, feel free to make yourself a cuppa!
There is one bathroom with bathtub and shower.

-Free Wifi
-Access to Netflix during your stay
-Bed linens and towels are provided
-Ironing Board
-The apartment also comes with a washing machine/dryer
-There is a video buzzer intercom to allow someone to come into the building

The apartment is perfectly situated for city exploring. Within 10 minutes, you can be on Grafton Street, Dublin’s premiere upmarket shopping street. The side streets branching off from Grafton street are full off Dublin’s best restaurant’s and pubs. Another 5 minutes and you’ll be in the heart of Temple Bar, Dublin’s vibrant mix of cultural institutions, the Saturday market, independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and pubs. At the bottom of Grafton Street, you’ll see the impressive Trinity College, where you can also visit the stunning long room library and Book of Kells. The apartment is so close to everything, you can pop home for lunch in between sight seeing.
There is also a Dublin communal bike station right around the corner from the apartment.

If you’re coming from the airport, you can take Dublin Bus 16 to South Great Georges Street, which is no more than a 5 minute walk from the apartment and will cost about €2.40. The other buses are much more expensive and don’t come as close to the apartment.

  • I traveled to Dublin with one other person to visit my cousin at UCD. The apartment was exactly as described. Everything was clean and ready to go. Ria put out another mattress in the living room which was very useful. The rooftop garden also has some fantastic views.

The location is awesome. The bus fares in Dublin can quickly add up so we ended up doing a lot of walking. This apartment is right in the middle of everything which ended up saving a bit of money. Temple bar is less than 10 min, Grafton street/St. Stephen's Green is 8 min, Guinness is 15 min. Seriously, great location.

Ria was really nice and helpful on the day we arrived. Our original check in time didn't work for us but she was able to move her schedule around to meet us a bit earlier.

    All in all, 5 stars.

  • I spent a week in Ria's apartment along with my six-month-old baby and a friend while attending a conference at UCD. I found it to be a comfortable and convenient home away from home. I never met her, but Ria was very helpful in answering my questions before and during my stay, and understanding when I was a bit flaky about answering hers. The location is great, only a short walk from the city center and close to a number of bus routes which take you anywhere you want to go. The apartment faces out over a road which can get quite busy, but the traffic noise didn't bother us at all. The apartment itself is simple but well-equipped. I found the bed super comfortable, and there was plenty of room in the bedroom for my travel cot. Ria set up an extra mattress in the living room for my friend, so we both slept very comfortably. It was quite hot in the flat the week we were there but I imagine the type of heatwave we experienced is not common in Dublin. Ria gives you access to her Netflix account while you are there which was an extra bonus. There were a couple of things about the apartment which were different than the description I read at the time of booking: there was no television set up, and there were no guidebooks that we could find. Also upon arrival we couldn't find a house manual/instructions anywhere. Ria sent this to me as soon as I asked though. Overall we enjoyed our stay and I think Ria's place offers great value for money.

  • Stayed at the apartment for a weekend and I enjoyed it very much! Situated in a peaceful residential area (right next to the pretty St. Patrick's Park), the apartment is surprisingly very convenient. It cost around 8 euros to take a taxi from the Dublin bus station, and it is within walking distance to numerous tourist attractions, such as Temple Bar area, Trinity College, Grafton Street, Dublin Castle and St. Stephen's Green.

The apartment is kept in a clean and good condition, and it is bright, pleasant and cozy. I didn't use the kitchen during my stay but could tell that it's well equipped. Wifi was working well too.

I didn't meet Ria in person, but she was very responsive over the phone/email. She helped me find out how to travel to the apartment efficiently, and accommodated to my request to check out as late as 5pm on Sunday.

    A very enjoyable airbnb experience!

  • We had a great time in Dublin! Ria was very helpful when organizing the entire trip. Unfortunately I never met her but her friend was also very helpful.

Ria's apartment is a decent place very close to the city centre. The roof terrace was a big plus! The bed was quite high and the mattress a bit too big for the smaller bed frame, which did not really contribute to the sleeping experience ;) Also, we had some issues with the hot water (or better cold water) but I guess that's simply an Irish thing since we experienced that before somewhere else.

Apart from that it was really nice staying at Ria's place. The netflix account as well as internet worked perfectly and were a nice amenity! Once again thanks a million, Ria! It was grand in DUB ;)

  • A friend and I stayed here for a week in late August The location was bright and central and the roof deck was a nice treat though it lacked comfortable seating.

The flat was generally as described and in good condition. The kitchen was particularly well fitted out, felt cheerful and we appreciated the tea and coffee that were available when we arrived.

The bedroom had plenty of storage, good lighting and a white and blue Mark Rothco print that added to the pleasure of waking up there.

We enjoyed being able to make breakfast in the flat with fruit, yogurt, bread or eggs and one morning we took it up to the deck and enjoyed St. Patrick's with tea.

The view overlooking the beautiful cathedral and its gardens was marvelous and its cental location was great for us and nicely near the antiques shops on Francis

Be careful with the hot water settings, I managed to turn it off once but that was quickly corrected after a refreshing shower. Toast will set off the fire alarm, which is located outside the kitchen and we didn't know how to turn on the stove hood.

The only probems were that the comfortable mattress was six inches narrower than the box spring, which meant the mattress had to be shifted each night to ensure both of us were confortable. There was a DVD case but no DVDs. Ond one night we would have rented a DVD but the nearest spot didn't have a rental option suitable for short term visitors. One of us found the noise from car traffic on the street below on weekend nights when the window was open, disturbing. But that could have been easily overcome if a pair of earplugs had been at hand. Despite getting instructions on operating the washing machine, I wasn't able to get it to work.

Dublin was wonderful welcoming place to visit and the flat added to our happy experience.

We never met Ria but she was a helpful, responsive host, who kindly was able to make arrangements to let us drop our baggage and check in earlier than advertised. We'd be happy to visit again.

    Thank you, Ria!

Hi, I'm Ria. I was born in Northern Ireland, but grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I studied abroad at Trinity in Dublin, Ireland and fell in love with the place. I'm now back living in Dublin and loving it once again. I love to travel and recently spent 2 months in Australia producing two travel shows for Discovery. I am also an actress, aerial silk performer, and love a great mojito made from scratch!
