If you are traveling to the Olympia Washington area and want to enjoy the city but then retire to the relaxation of the country just miles from the city limits of Olympia you should look no further then The Artisan Bread Farm House owned by Pat Hains.
My wife and I have traveled the world on business and vacation but this stay is without a doubt one of the most enjoyable we have ever experienced. Pat is wonderful. She is an amazing Chef and will be as attentive as you like or as private as you like. I can not stress enough what a remarkable stay this was and you would be doing yourself a disservice to pass up this opportunity if you are looking for a place in the area.
Pat and her farmhouse exceeded all expectations ... there is no reason to stay elsewhere in the Olympia area if you love a quiet, pastoral setting run by a gracious, warm, funny hostess. This is an absolutely beautiful place -- an old homestead farmhouse surrounded by fields, forest, grazing cows and llamas. And then there is Pat and her amazing kitchen ... prepare yourself for good conversation and laughter while you nibble on any of the delicious breads or scones that she bakes in her wood fired oven plus all sorts of yummy dishes. Breakfast was beyond the beyond. I only regret I wasn't there when one of Pat's bread classes was in progress. Totally wonderful all around ... seriously ... no reason to stay elsewhere ...
Country serenity with a great host, many wonderful types of birds to see, neighbors with cows, horses and a border collie and other neighbors with llamas. My grandson fell in love with her chickens and Pat let him feed them. Pat really goes out of her way for you and I am truly thankful for all the extras she did for my grandson and I to make our stay extra special. I enjoyed getting to know her.
Pat was an incredible host!
The farmhouse has a lovely rustic feel nestled in the country but easily located from the freeway. There were plenty of nearby towns to explore for food etc too.
Pat made us the most extravagant breakfast of homemade bread, scones, sausages & potatoes, delicious coffee...that's not even half of it. We were sad to leave! Highly recommend, great value all round.
Awesome lady who's created a beautiful and peaceful place. Pat was quick to respond to my late room request and had everything prepared when I arrived. The bed was comfortable and the room was cute! I loved the simple details and the tall ceilings.
The next day I got ready and had a few great chats with Pat as she prepared-the BEST BREAKFAST I ever had! I'm not exaggerating. She is a bread maker and yes-she really knows what she's doing
If you are looking for somewhere very welcoming and peaceful to stay in Olympia area look no longer. Pat was an awesome host who was very accomodating. I didn't arrive until later than I expected and I had no problem communicating with her. She had fresh pretzel bread (my favorite), scones, and all sorts of bread in the kitchen upon my arrival. The bed was super comfortable and it was really cool to wake up on a farm and have cows right outside my door. Visually, the area is stunning and I wish i had more time to explore Olympia area. Recommend!
Amazing place to stay, I highly recommend Pat and the Hains House. The rooms are decorated nicely, the bath is new with a good shower, and spotlessly clean. We had an amazing breakfast and Pat was most accommodating. If you want a quiet place to stay in a lovely area, in a beautiful old farmhouse that's been lovingly restored - this is your place.
Pat is a fantastic host. Her home is very welcoming, clean, comfortable, and in a peaceful location. In the morning, Pat cooked a delicious breakfast, including some freshly baked scones, and it was great to talk to her to learn about Washington and to get some ideas of what to visit in Seattle. We would definitely stay again!
My stay with Pat was everything I could have hoped for. Her home was warm, she was great company, I slept amazingly well, and the breakfast she made for me was just what I needed to start my day. Her breakfast was just what I needed to start my day and the to-go box of her homemade scones & banana bread were a wonderful touch. I only wish that I lived closer so that I could take one of her bread baking classes with my husband.
It was quite a treat to stay in Pat's charming farmhouse. It was nice and warm (it was wintertime), it was clean, and the bed was quite comfortable. I would stay here again without hesitation. I enjoyed the other guests too. Highly recommended!
