What a delight! I stayed here for a quick overnight getaway. Pat was a delightful host. The property is quaint and homey. I enjoyed breakfast with Pat in the morning and will DEFINITELY come back. Thank you, Pat!
Pat was so lovely!! Besides being so gracious with our very late arrival, she was bountiful in Spirit and sharing her Home-making.
The Farmhouse is so quiet; the chickens and garden are all so happy with her tending...we felt lighter and full of love when leaving :)
Pat made me feel welcome from the first "hello"! Her farm house is so homey and it just makes you feel good to be there. I had a super comfortable bed and my own bathroom. I slept like a baby every single night. I came to the Hainshouse to learn to bake bread. I left with so much more than I ever expected too. My fellow students and I had so much fun together. We had lots of laughs and Pat is a fantastic teacher. She has so much patience! The breads we learned to make (and we made a LOT of them) and bake (outdoor brick oven and indoor ovens) were so unbelievable! OMG! It was hard to believe I actually made these...The meals she served were absolutely fantastic. Every one of them. It's been one of the best experiences I have ever had, spending time there with Pat. By the time I left, I felt like we were old friends. I really hope to return again someday. It's an experience I will always treasure.

There are probably not enough superlatives in my dictionary to completely describe the wonderfulness of Pat Hains Artisan Bread Farm! We were visiting our daughter in Olympia and looking for a place to stay near by. We couldn't have found a nearer location with such a delightful hostess. All the reviews rave about Pat's breakfasts, BELIEVE THEM!! Scones, eggs, sausage, avocado pesto are among the stars here. She also packed sandwiches on the morning we left early to catch a ferry. She teaches a pizza class featuring her wood fired pizza oven. I got a class for free and we had a pizza party that auctions for $800!! OK, so the chow is great; so is the house! This is a remodeled 1921 farmhouse that is just charming. It has all the amenities you could want: internet, satellite TV (we were too pooped to watch!) and, maybe best of all: a heated floor in the bath! Very nice in the wintertime! I have saved the best for last. Pat's family is living upstairs, we had the whole downstairs to ourselves, with a private bath and it's own hot water heater. We never heard a peep out of the gang upstairs. The whole experience reminded me of the Waltons; you could feel the family love each other. We were there over the entire Christmas week, I was initially a little nervous about sharing the home of strangers at this personal time of the year. I needn't have worried, we felt like one of the family after about 5 minutes!! Pat's son in law is a Lutheran pastor and we were invited to their church's Christmas Eve Candlelight service. We went and felt very warm and welcomed there as well. When we left we got hugs from all the family; in just six days we had become family. Pat and her crew helped make this a very unique and warmly wonderful Christmas. THANKS SO MUCH PAT!!
Although it was brief, I loved the comfort and coziness of Pat's home. She is a warm and hospitable hostess and the property and house are super cool. I will definitely come back and next time I'm signing up for her 3 day artisan bread-making workshops!
Pat was a most welcoming host. We kept her posted on our arrival time as we were later than planned and she was always cordial. On arriving, she was very hospitable and made us feel at home. Her home was "out in the country" and further from Olympia than we had thought and we weren't aware the bathroom would be separated from the bedroom but neither were really a problem.
What we didn't expect was the gourmet breakfast we were served. We ate with Pat and her granddaughter and it made for a most pleasant morning. The breakfast could have been on the cover of a magazine - there was quality as well as quantity. When she found out how much we enjoyed her scones, she sent us on our way with leftovers. She also included a small loaf of her homemade bread. We haven't experienced that warm feeling of being at Grandma's house for a very long time. Even though we're grandparents ourselves, she brought back those warm feelings. Thank you Pat. We hope to attend one of your bread classes one of these days. Hugh and Marilyn
Our family was looking for a place for the Seattle and Portland branches could meet up for the day. My cousin has many environmental allergies that rule out most venues. We were not spending the night, just wanted a place where we could relax, bring an indoor picnic, share photos and memories (using computer/wifi), and a quiet. comfortable place where our 90+ year old, hard-of-hearing mothers would be able to hear and doze if so desired.
This was my first airbnb experience. Pat was super helpful in answering all my questions (and prompt). She also talked to my cousin and accommodated her needs and she had an allergy free time.
The house was lovely! The weather was particularly stormy so we did not go out and about on the farm, but we saw four deer come wandering by. I would visit again in a heartbeat.
Pat also supplied both families with delicious applesauce and jam. I highly recommend!
