Host made me feel very welcome, like a friend! The area is pretty rough but the house is homey and welcoming! A relaxed friendly environment.
The place looked quite run-down, in a decrepit neighborhood... So much so that I had to go pay for a hotel instead..no refunds. My guest and I did not feel safe.
We ended up staying at a hotel downtown, which was only a few bucks more.
I went in Atlanta for Tomorrow World (it's a music festival) and i stayed at Tim. From the beginning he was a nice host: answered fast to my messages, helped me with indications how to arrive anywhere and so on. The time spent with Tim was really awesome and i had a great experience in Atlanta. He drove me with his car when i was in late and he made everything to have a great experience in Atlanta. The neighborhood is quite and peaceful. You have a nice park close to house and the subway is at 10 minutes distance. Tim it's a interesting person who likes to travel and make friends from all over the world. If you come to Atlanta it's a good choice to stay at him.
We stayed in this hostel for 2 nights while visiting Atlanta. If I'm ever in the area again and need a place to stay, I am definitely going to stay here.
We drove in, and although there wasn't too much parking no one else seemed to have driven. There's a narrow driveway and street parking. Door bolt shuts automatically behind you, so there was little chance of someone accidently leaving it open. The neighborhood isn't upscale, but we felt safe. And safety was a concern because we're two 18yo women. The other people in the hostel seemed to be around the same age, and we ended up going downtown with two of them on our second day.
The house itself is beautiful and old. Ample comfortable beds, towels, and full kitchen (with cooking supplies, condiments, and refrigerator space). Everything was clean and Tim stopped by to check on us the second night. he's a wonderful guy and has really taken care of the house.
The place has potential to be loud depending on who is staying there, but I think we were the most obnoxious group because we stayed up talking. Everyone was respectful and even the late night tv-watchers kept the volume low.
Like I mentioned, I would absolutely stay here again. I stay in hostels whenever I can to meet people and to save money, and Tim's place let me do both.
Tim was very welcoming. He wasn't there when I arrived, so I settled myself in but when he arrived he introduced himself, then we spent quite a while chatting. He was very friendly. Unlike most other AirBnB hosts, Tim actually does this as his career. He clearly knows what he's doing. He listens to the feedback that people give him and acts upon it accordingly. The house was perfect for me, just a short 10 minute walk from a MARTA station, which was only 2 stops from downtown, and it was cheap! It was like a hostel, so there were 4 others staying the night, but no one was actually in the same room as me, so it felt slightly more private than a hostel. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who's on a budget; students, backpackers etc.
Tim's house was lovely and it was only 10 minutes from the local train station. I definitely recommend staying here if you want to meet fellow travelers!

I am a very relaxed and easygoing and open minded guy looking to host people and make new friends around the world. I have always wanted to work in the hospitality industry since I was a kid it was a dream of mine to own my own bed and Breakfast. I lived in my home on Tift Ave for almost eleven years. I have hosted many friends and travelers from around the world in my historic home. Now that I found out about Air BNB, I am opening my home to you. I now have four properties close to downtown Atlanta two in historic Capital View neighborhood and two in Historic Adair Park neighborhood. they are both very close to downtown and walking distance from the marta train station and bus stops so Its very easy to get around the city without the need for a car. Several of the homes also can be booked entirely for larger groups.I also have many hostel spaces available great for travelers on a budget. I love to share travel stories drink good wine and eat good food. I like almost anything as far as food goes and red and white white alike as well as a good beer. I really don't have any major rules just be a polite guest as I will be a great host and even show you around if you need me to. I also love the outdoors and know some great places to hike in Atlanta. I also love to cook, drink wine or beers and eat good food and have a Nice large kitchen for you to make yourself at home in as well as each house has a great private backyard and fire pit and large front porches, The house I live at on Tift Ave has a hot tub that's great for skinny dipping and also has 3 cats and a small dog you will love. My other properties do not have any animals unless a guest happens to have one.
