Lovely place giving the feel of late 1800s peasant life but with all the modern amenities. Close to an area with old historic homes. Small pretty village quite unlike a city experience. Staff were very helpful, tried really hard to help us with a number of requests even though speaking English was a bit of a challenge. The restaurant in the building is fabulous! Plus complimentary drinks and wine in the room were a very nice touch. For travellers on the Bernina Express to Tirano it makes a great overnight stop, as they include free taxi travel to and from Tirano station a couple of kms away to meet your train. Great experience!
Such a great place to stay :) It's perfectly renovated with an great eye for detail. We've been there only for one night but wished instantly we would have more time. The food in the restaurant is fantastic and the breakfast was perfect to. Such a warm and welcoming place :) We can highly recommend to stay here and we will return for a longer visit!
The place looks even better in real life than it does in pictures. It was the cutest rustic stay I can imagine. The smell of the hay in the loft --- wonderful. There is tons of space, easily enough for parents to stay in the bed and kids to stay in the loft (although the bathroom is only accessible through the bedroom). Everything is well-decorated and there was not a stray note. Highly recommended.
There is not any view from this place but you can go for a walk along the hillside nearby and see gorgeous vineyards and orchards and mountains.
As others have said, it's a little bit far from Tirano proper on foot (if you have a car, no problem at all). If the weather is nice, it's a gorgeous walk into town. When we got to Tirano, it was raining and it was a little bit hard to find a taxi because of our poor Italian. But for us, it was worth it! So much better than a random hotel.
The host was very helpful and kind! - ideally if you have a bike or car it's easier to get around, but I walked into Tirano easily (a couple of KM) although it's more of a scramble on the side of a busy road! There is probably an easier way. Great accommodation and breakfast, very peaceful and lovely views - would definitely recommend. Also recommend Il Seicento for Mountain Biking!
bellissimi miniappartamenti rustici, originali e ben curati, ottima sia l'accoglienza che la colazione.
The group of enthusiasts running this place have re-created the dwelling and the interior of the local peasants in the 19th century... (Plus the modern comfort, of course.) They carefully and conservatively restored the building and fitted out each room with love for heritage, culture and history of their town. The place is quite, very comfortable, has a local delicious restaurant on the premises. The whole experience is a bit of a travel in time, except with all the amenities one needs for his comfort. They are doing a great job of keeping the local history alive.
The personnel is very caring and attentive. They picked us up from the train station and helped get internet access.
