About This Listing
Has a pool open during summer and central heating for the winter! This room is comfortable and bright, the building and area are very safe. Its only four subway stops away from downtown. Also available for long stays. 5 min away Trendy Barrio Italia.
The cats aren't living here anymore.
The apartment is large (100m2). The building is super modern, with a pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, gym, events room (The pool & gym are free, Sauna & Jacuzzi are 4.000 chilean pesos for 3 hours).
The apartment is on the second floor.
The room is 6,8 square meters, has a single bed, a bedside table, a lamp and a desk. The rent includes full house privileges: Internet via WIFI, kitchen, TV and DVD access, washing machine and basic expenses (water, electricity and gas) plus a cleaning lady every other week.
Interaction with Guests
I work so I am usually away office hours on weekdays, but I like to enjoy dinner with my guests when possible and if they want to.
I live at this apartment, I shift between rooms according to which are rented.
The building is a 10 min walk from subway stop Irarrazabal, on the green line.
The building is 2 blocks from supermarkets, and several pharmacy’s. Also ten minutes away (walking) is the trendy barrio Italia with several cool little boutiques, lovely restaurants and coffee shops, within walking distance we have thai, peruvian, vietnamese, indian, italian, sushi and of course chilean restaurants.
Ten minute walk from our clean and efficient subway stop "irarrazabal", buses run along Salvador and Irarrazabal to downtown and to providencia.
The apartment is very well located, a jump (180m) from Irrarazabal/Salvador Intersection, it has plentiful transport day and night. One K away from Irarrazabal Metro Station to link on to Santiago's very safe and clean subway system.
Other Things to Note
Excellent Internet: The internet connection is fast, 45 mbps download and 2,3 mbps upload.
Heating: The apartment has central heating!!! its lovely and toasty!! (although only active during the Winter- May to August), there is a radiator inside each bedroom and one in the living room. This is not a common feature in Chile. For one who grew up in cold Edmonton, Alberta, central heating is essential, I've experienced more cold in badly heated Santiago apartments then ever in Canada!
Some details; We have plenty of hot water, the water boiler works continuously, automatic and is central to the building, not inside the apartment.
The apartment is on a second floor in case you are afraid of our Chilean earthquakes, although you should feel safe anywhere in this regard since Santiago's arquitecture has proved to be well prepared for these events.
Guests are allowed to use the washing machine and all other appliances of the common areas, the idea is for all guests to feel as though they were at home!
Everybody is required to wash their dirty dishes, cutlery, pots an pans after using them, also to put them away once they have dried.
To avoid clogging the plumbing, please, do not let food debris enter the drain of the sink.
Please, keep the common areas organized and clean.
Clean sheets & towels will be provided for every guest and these will be changed by the cleaning lady every 2 weeks. If the guest desires to wash his/her sheets more often the washing machine is always available to be used.
Camila was the best host I could expect! She is very friendly and helpfull. The apartment is very well organized and localized. I felt home during this 1 month loving there. Camila takes it very professionally and it can be noticed since the first time you arrive there. The apartment is exactly how the photos show and Camila offers very usefull information to understand the city. I loved the time I spend there I Camila become a friend. I hope we can meet anywhere in the future. It was amazing to live with you , Cam.
Such a lovely, relaxing home - perfect for short-term and long-term visitors to Santiago. Camila is a very thoughtful host: she was helpful with all of my questions about the city & our neighborhood, and she made sure that I had enough storage space and kitchen space to make my daily life easy and comfortable. I liked my stay so much that I've extended to March!
Camila was very welcoming and her place was as she described it! She provided such helpful information to navigate the city…a real bonus when traveling to a new place. The room was cozy and the shared living area comfortable. The neighborhood was safe and it was very easy to get to the metro. I would definitely recommend staying here and I hope to return as well.
Camilla was friendly and helpful during my short 3 night stay. The bedroom was clean and the wifi good. About 10 minute walk to Irrarazzal Metro Station Line 5, so reasonable to get around. Full size grocery store 3-4 blocks away. Great hot water in shower. Not sure why bathroom sink has very little water flow. Would be great to have a fan in the bedroom for airflow.
Todd! you should have asked for the fan, the one in the livingroom is there for guest use as all other things in the common areas. The sink in the bathroom clogs because of hard water so it needs to be checked once in a while, thanks for letting me know now, since i dont actually use that bathroom I had no idea it was low flow again.
Thank you for your stay!

About the Host, Camila
My name is Camila, I'm 32 years old and I have a B.A in Biotechnology from Universidad de Chile.
As work I freelance and am currently doing my thesis, I usually work a lot, partially from home. In my spare time I enjoy watching series or a movie, going out to eat, watch a band or go dancing.
I enjoy having people floating around my apartment since it feels like it becomes more alive. I love sharing with people from different cultures. To have conversations over home prepared diverse meals.
I have several listings, some of them are located at my apartment and the others at my friends apartments: Andres, Nancy, and Mireya, whom I know very well and trust and also know that are wonderful hosts themselves.
I hope all my guests feel very welcome, with the freedom and independence to do what they may.
