We truly enjoyed our stay with Andy and Lucy.
Andy is very organised and provided us with a map of Knaresborough and a huge list of restaurant and pub recommendations! He was also ready to inform us about great drives and walks in the area.
Andy and Lucy's home is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Our room was very large, bright and comfortable.
We woke up to an amazing breakfast courtesy of our hosts that was beautifully laid out!
Knaresborough itself is a lovely little town that I would like to explore more. Andy and Lucy's house is a perfect place to stay if you would like to be in close proximity to the Yorkshire Dales and the city of York.
Our only complaint was that we could not stay longer!
Really lovely place to stay and fantastic hosts. I'd have no hesitation recommending anyone to stay here and would definitely stay again (very comfy bed too!)
Andy and Lucy are brilliant hosts! Very welcoming, friendly and they made me feel home from the first moment I stepped in their house! Beautiful room, comfortable bed and I watched a lovely sunrise every morning from bed! They prepared a nice breakfast and really felt like a queen at the nicely set table. Thank you very much! I definitely recommend this place :)
We arrived at midnight, 2 hours later than planned and Andy stayed up to let us in, even offering us a cup of tea when we arrived.
Had a great nights sleep in a comfortable bed, followed by a nice hot shower. The breakfast was tasty and filling, plus we had free reign over Andy and Lucy's hi-fi and record collection.
We were given annotated maps with recommended attractions, pubs and cafes, and a lovely river walk.
Easy to find location, only a 5 minute walk to the centre, and amazing value. Not a bad word to say really.
Andy was really friendly, unfortunately we didn't get to meet Lucy, but their very relaxed dog Toby added to the homely feel.
So if I go back to Knaresborough, I know where I'll be staying!
The room and bathroom were very nice. The castle and town quite good. A quick pick up and drop off were very helpful from the train station with the wet weather.
Love, love, love Andy and Lucy, Kitty and Toby!! Comfortable from the very start as you never know how you're going to feel staying in someone's home. But I would do it again in a heartbeat and stay there again. Lucy made us feel like family...although I don't know...my family doesn't have breakfast and tea/coffee waiting for me when I wake up! SO, they treated us better than family! The town is lovely and such a breath of fresh air from the big cities we were staying in. Just the perfect stop with the perfect hosts.
Andy and Lucy were wonderful, everything I could have needed was there for me. I would recommend a stay with them, and definitely if the weather is nice have a peaceful breakfast in their beautiful garden.
We had a really good stay at Andy's place. The bed is really comfortable and the house was really quiet, so we were able to enjoy a good and long night of sleep. When we woke up, Andy had prepared a delicious breakfast for us. Andy even made us a CD for the road! Would stay at Andy's house again!
Booked this for my elderly parents due to the proximity to the in-laws and couldn't have stumbled across a nicer couple!
My parents have not stopped raving about Lucy and Andy (and of course Kitty who they adored) and how helpful and thoughtful they were. They even dropped their bags to us on the day of departure as my mother had a sore back and they wouldn't hear of her carrying anything. M&D were also amazed with the little welcome kit provided, with lots of great local tips and a fantastic hand-annotated map. Really couldn't have asked anything more and I am so grateful they they made my parents feel so at home.
My husband and I stayed with Andy and Lucy to break up our drive from Norwich, England to Glasgow, Scotland. It was a last minute decision to book their room, but Andy and Lucy responded quickly to our booking request. They were flexible with our check in time, as we didn't exactly know what time we would arrive (our first time driving in the UK). Their home is very clean, and I especially love their decor and style! They are very friendly and gave us great recommendations on what to see and where to eat in the area. They served the most amazing breakfast on their patio---this experience would match any breakfast at a nice restaurant! Our stay was short, but we were very pleased and would highly recommend their place to others.
