The holiday accommodation Getaria is the ideal modern apartment for a couple looking for a tranquil and well located place to stay during their holidays in San Sebastian. It is situated in a pleasant pedestrian street, within the main shopping area in the city centre.
It is a small recently refurbished accommodation located on the fifth floor of a building with a lift. It has a surface area of 40 square metres and without doubt, it should be said that it is a very well-planned space. The vacation apartment Getaria has a spacious terrace and this, together with the large windows bringing in lots of light, make it possible to have a sense of a bigger place.
There is an open plan lounge-dining area linked to a modern kitchenette and a double bedroom separated by a glass partition. Every room in the house, with the exception of the bathroom, has a French window with direct access to the terrace.
In the lounge, which is as bright as the rest of the holiday accommodation, there are two comfortable chaise longue. While in the kitchenette it is possible to find all necessary kitchenware in order for you and your party to prepare delicious meals during your holidays in San Sebastian. Once the food is ready, the choice will be yours: eating inside or in the terrace.
The double bedroom has a queen size bed and the bathroom is equipped with a shower cubicle.
The vacation apartment Getaria is located in an area with all sorts of grocery and fashion shops, bars, restaurants and other services. At the same time, it is close to any of San Sebastian beaches.
This holiday accommodation also offers the possibility to rent a parking space, although it should be mentioned that given its ideal location within the city centre, it is the perfect spot to get to know San Sebastian on foot.

San Sebastian’s centre, as it could be expected, represents the heart of the city. It is a very elegant area situated between La Concha Beach and the Urumea River. It borders on the Gros neighbourhood at East, on the Antiguo at West and on the Amara at South.
A great deal of shops and distinctive buildings are found in this area. Among these it is worth mentioning the Town Hall, the Victoria Eugenia Theatre or the Buen Pastor Cathedral.
Bars and restaurants spread out all around this area and if you would like to enjoy some typical pintxos, you can try any of them here. Or perhaps you prefer to pop-in in the Old Town, which is just a five minute stroll away.
La Concha, world famous beach and bay, stands out in this area for its natural beauty but also for the spectacular panoramic views from its promenade. At the same time, La Perla, a thalassotherapy centre pioneer in San Sebastian’s tourism since the beginning of the 20th Century is situated along this walk too.
The Miramar Palace appears as a natural frontier between the Antiguo, Aiete and the Centre neighbourhoods. This palace and its surrounding gardens facing the bay are like a banner for the city, as it was here where the former Royal Family used to spend their summer holidays at the beginning of the 20th Century. Thanks to these prestigious visitors San Sebastian became a very fashionable city among the elite tourism. Nowadays, the Miramar Palace houses the High School of Music of San Sebastian. You will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the bay from here.
Several supermarkets can be found in this area as well as one of the most attractive markets in the city, the San Martin market. Both, traditional and the latest shops are located in this store.
Very close to the city centre, at the entrance of the Old Town, there is another well-known market, La Bretxa. There is also a good combination of traditional and modern shops here, probably the most genuine market in the whole of San Sebastian.
A gorgeous route you may want to take is that going from La Concha to the harbour and from here to the Paseo Nuevo, all along the seaside. Parting from this Paseo Nuevo, you also may feel like going up to Urgull Mountain, just a 15 minute climb. And we can assure you that it will be worth it, as you will enjoy the most beautiful view of San Sebastian right from the top. Coming down from the Mountain, you get back to the Old Town and, after passing by the Town Hall, you will reach La Concha again.
If you come to visit the city by car, you will find that there are various public carparks in the city centre: La Concha, Boulevard, San Martín, Okendo, Amara and Buen Pastor.
Thanks to a modern and wide network of public transport, the Antiguo is very well connected to the other city neighbourhoods. For more information on public transport you can visit the official webpage: (website hidden)
We had a very relaxing 5 day stay at Gateria apartment. The apartment was modern, clean had a very comfortable bed .The added bonus was having the terrace with rooftop views. The neighbourhood was safe and quiet except for some traffic noise but this was not a problem for us. When the windows are closed you hardly hear a thing. It is an easy walk to the old town, beach and shops.
Juan Ramon and Alessandro were very helpful and we would defiantly recommend a stay at Gateria.

Loved the flat. The loungers were phenomenal!
Juan owns a number of apartments in St Sebastian; this is about Getaria.
There are many things to recommend this little apartment. It is exactly as in the photos – it’s not huge, but more than OK for short stay, and with all the amenities you might expect. Everything that we needed was provided for us, right down to oven gloves and everything was clean, tidy and fully working.
The balcony is an especially nice feature, and actually bigger than you might think - we had breakfast out there most days - very pleasant!
Although we didn’t meet the owner, the keys were available at the time we expected, and after a quick show round, they left us with it, which was nice.
They were also good enough to provide a map of San Sebastian - a small thing, but meant we could get our bearings straight away. Not that you are far from anything – the location is very good, and all the main stuff you might need – the beach, and many pinxtos/drinks bars are all within a short walking distance.
We also liked the local shop – nice bread and fruit/veg - literally a minute's walk.
The only downsides are that the bathroom is very compact, and as another reviewer noted, when the windows are open (which they needed to be in July) you can hear traffic noise.
Neither of these really detracted from the experience for me though, and I would definitely stay there again.
