About This Listing
Your intimate hideaway is packed with high-end amenities, quaint charm & unexpected nooks & crannies. French doors serve as your private entrance & also flow onto your secluded outdoor space. Available for EXTENDED-STAY rental or longterm lease ONLY
About the apartment:
Paint, carpet, heat & air, and appliances are all new and fresh.
This is a really charmingly private 850-sq.-ft. suburban retreat, nestled discreetly on the back side of a very large home. In addition to a spacious den and comfortable king-sized bedroom with uber-comfortable pillow-top mattress, it has a brand-new full kitchen with granite countertops and high-end stainless appliances, including a wine refrigerator/chiller. It has two sets of French doors opening to a private fern-laced stone patio that is walled for additional privacy. It has a travertine shower and Jacuzzi tub, as well as two closets. This is a partitioned (and heavily-soundproofed) mother-in-law suite that is located on the terrace level of the home and has its own private entrance, and zoned HVAC controls.
The suite consists of several rooms:
The den has rustic hardwood floors, a double french-door entry, a large flat screen TV, and very comfortable sofas. It also has HD DVR with 150+ channels and HD DVD player capable of streaming - you can download and watch films over the shared high speed Internet with 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds. A rechargeable bluetooth headset lets you listen to music and movies as loud as you wish.
As mentioned, there is a high-end kitchen with eat-in table/desk. It is very bright with four skylights! The kitchen has granite counter tops, dishwasher, garbage disposal, a Keurig coffee maker, Kitchen-Aid mixer, and a toaster. The stove and oven are gas and the refrigerator dispenses water and has an ice maker.
You enter your bedroom through a six-ft. wide hallway, after passing a built-in book case (for fun reads on dozens of topics). The bedroom (and the entire apartment) is decorated in true Pottery Barn style. The bedroom has a king-sized pillow top bed made up with high thread-count sheets. Bedroom and den both have lighted ceiling fans -- great for summer evenings with the French doors open to the patio.
The bathroom has a jacuzzi, travertine floors and shower walls, and a marble topped sink area. You will find a fluffy terry robe for your convenience, as well as a blow-dryer.
The patio is laced with filtered sunlight from the 40-50 yr. old oak trees. It has a stainless Weber Genesis grill with side burner and grilling utensils, and a comfortable set of chairs with a granite table top planter between them.
Note: We subscribe to extremely high speed Internet.
Should you require it for any reason, you will have access to the core parts of the main home. However, your apartment suite is securely tucked away and very very private (and soundproofed) from the rest of the home and no one, other than yourself, can unlock the doors that go from your apartment to a stairwell that reaches the rest of the home.
Interaction with Guests
We do like to clean this apartment once a month... at no cost to you. :)
This apartment is ideal for extended stay use... we do not rent it for extremely short-term purposes, such as weekends. Our typical renters are here on business, interning, training, relocations, etc. We can only accommodate one person and there is only one parking space.

after a good start we weren't able to complete our stay due to complications.
The host greeted us timely with a plate of baked goods, and was responsive and friendly. She showed us the home and explained the features of the space. The home was very tastefully decorated and equipped. The bed and bedding were especially luxurious. The kitchen was technically beyond up-to-date with everything we needed. A wonderful array of books of different subjects were nicely displayed.
We had a ceiling water intrusion problem, but the host was quickly on site to deal with the problem. The neighborhood was quiet and restful.
Dawn was a very welcoming and nice host. Her place is private, beautiful, and in a nice quiet suburban neighborhood close to restaurants and stores. I would recommend it to others.
Dawn was an awesome host, she showed me around the place when I first arrived before leaving it to me to make myself at home. The home was a very nice, quiet place. The surrounding area was absolutely beautiful and it was not very far from downtown Atlanta. I would definitely recommend staying here to anybody!

About the Host, Dawn
Hi, I was a single mother of two awesome boys for about 15 years, but am now an empty-nester. I am also engaged to a terrific guy who shares lots of the same hobbies... we scuba dive, fly a small plane, hike, kayak and swim/bike/run... yes, we are enjoying triathlons in our golden years. :)
This is the home where I raised my kids and it has lots of memories for us all. I spent many years remodeling and expanding it...
