LOCATION:
the cottage is located in the center of Lower Highlands (LOHI) next to the Navajo Street Arts District and no need to cab it because we are in the midst of it all.

Lower Highlands is Denver's fastest up & coming neighborhood - every day it seems like there are more new restaurants, coffee shops, bars, breweries, unique shops or tasty places opening daily.

those who are interested in our local brews - we are walking distance to three new breweries for as well as a short drive to several other breweries.

there is some history behind the cottages -
they were built in the 1890's and used to belong to a horse and carriage business which shuttled workers down to Union Station. our neighborhood has always been a working class neighborhood starting with the Italians and then has welcomed many other waves of immigrants.

The Lower Highlands district is a thriving area due to the of proximity and the number of attractions that you can walk or bike to.

Bike paths are plentiful and you could tour the whole city on them.
you can rent a bike with a swipe of your credit card- Denver has a bike rental program named "B cycle".
At the B cycle station you can rent a bike for an hour or several days, there are many drop off stations where you can leave the bike and pick another one up to use again. I have information in the cottage on these rentals.

also, the RTD's lightrail & Amtra train station is cross the river at Union Station (16th street) which will take you across the Denver Metro area.

coming in the future is the northwest light rail line that will be several block from the cottages!

We had a great, albeit quick, stay at Jennifer and Gio's place. They were so great to communicate with, super responsive and friendly. There was a winter storm so our check in plans changed the day of our stay and they were really accommodating. It is a cute little place in a great location. I would totally recommend staying here for a trip to Denver!

We loved staying here. The location is perfect - walking to coffee, food and bars. We loved that. It's a short drive to anything in the city. Our hosts were so cool and kind. The hot tub was amazing, too!

This small cabin was adorable! The location is perfect!!! It a little more rustic than expected but it made for a wonderful getaway. Jennifer and Giovanni were the best hosts. I can't say enough about how friendly, communicative, accommodating and all around awesome they were!

Jennifer and Giovanni are responsive, accommodating and really nice hosts. The cottage is located near Highland Tavern. It is slightly over 1 mile to Platte area shops (aka, Flagship REI store, etc.) which for me was only a 20 minute walk. It was less than a 9 minute drive to Tennyson Street restaurants and shops. It was 20 minutes to Clear Creek Canyon and 30 minutes to the Flat Irons. It is a 2 second hop to I-25 or 3 second hop to I-70, hence a really great location. The owners mention on their description the construction, however, I was there for a full week and never heard any disturbing noises from the construction nor was there any issues parking or anything. The cottage is an open concept living/dining area and kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and the cottage was very clean. The wifi is great, I could stream and work at the same time with no issues! The front yard is fully fenced, nicely manicured and long, thus the cottage is nestled back in the property thus lots of peace and quiet. The back yard is nice and fully fenced as well plus there is a grill and nice lights for an evening wine and meal. There is also easy access from the back yard to the common areas which include a hot tub for guests use. I took a very last minute vacation to Denver with my dog and Jennifer and Giovanni accommodated my stay with no issues. It was the perfect spot for easy access to rock climbing, hiking, and my friends in the LoHi/Berkley areas yet after a long day full of activities, I could relax in the quiet and cozy cottage. Thank you Jennifer and Giovanni!

Jennifer and Giovanni were excellent hosts! They gave great recommendations for local places to eat and were wonderfully accommodating for our arrival and departure. The neighborhood is cute and within walking distance to many great local coffee shops/restaurants. We will definitely keep this place in mind the next time we are in Denver!

Jennifer & Giovanni User ProfileJennifer & Giovanni is a superhost.

We are a community of artists and tinkerers.

We enjoy many activities here in Denver - cooking, growing fruits and vegetables are some that we get to do here at the cottages along with mixed media projects and furniture building.

We are always up to some new outdoor project when the Colorado weather permits and hunker down inside by the fire in the winter keeping our hands busy with knitting, card making or some other project we can dream up.

Giovanni and I have grown in our collaborations and embrace our age and abilities for self governance in employment - Giovanni had moved into documentaries and I have been spending more time in the commercial film community.

We have been in the lower highlands for over a decade now and have marveled in the changing landscape and exciting times for new restaurants, breweries and galleries. We still love to take advantage of the great walks thru the neighborhood and down by the river as often as we can.
