David and Angie's nineteenth century elegant Victorian house is located in a secret garden twenty minutes’ walk from the historic centre of Cork City, a European capital of culture, boasting an energetic artistic community.
The house itself has a welcoming atmosphere with beautifully decorated rooms in the period style, spacious and comfortably furnished.
Angie is an artist painter with a studio in the city while David a Chocolatier has his workshop studio in their garden. So while you sit, relax and listen to bird song within the walled garden after a day visiting sites, it's possible to indulge in a little chocolate tasting with a complimentary glass of wine.
In the morning before heading out for a day’s sightseeing, a hearty breakfast is served in the conservatory.
Both David and Angie are very informative about their city and will provide information on current arts events, historic attractions and good restaurants. It’s an ideal place for exploring the Cork region and neighbouring counties.Within walking distance from the Marquee for music events.
Hands on chocolate courses can be arranged where you can make truffles or your own personalised creations and learn the secrets of the chocolate world, can be arranged with prior notice.
No smoking in house
David and Angie could not have been kinder if they tried. David greeted is despite our late arrival. They had tea with us, provided directions to sights, and even showed us the chocolate making shop. Great hosts.
An eclectic Victorian home with curated curiosities, set in a lush gardenscape, is wonderful in its own right. However, it is the hosts who truly create an experience. From the outset, David & Angie were warm, friendly, and readily welcomed us into their lovely home. Despite a hectic day of work, they welcomed us with tea and chocolates, and showed us the artfully-decorated rooms. Our rooms were clean & comfortable, breakfasts generous & nourishing, and the company exceptional. David took time to give us an introduction to chocolate-making in spite of looming Easter deadlines (I highly recommending booking a session with him!), which was a deliciously eye-opening experience. Angie had excellent local recommendations for us, which thoroughly enhanced our visit to Cork. Pity we didn't have more time. Thank you David & Angie for the exceptional experience. You truly epitomize Irish hospitality, and the spirit of AirBnB!

Felt very welcome ,great place ,great location ,very quaint, breakfast was exactly what I love to eat ,
Only problem for me was a very strong smell from ?fresh hyacinths/lilies of which I have an allergy to ,but not sure if I should mention it as most people would probably love them,
What a lovely stay. My friends and I could not have felt more welcomed by David and Angie and as such, our time in Cork was completely unforgettable. The house was so charming and being able to enjoy a delicious breakfast in the conservatory, made each morning all the better.
Staying at David's place was spectacular! They had great recommendations for local restaurants and were very helpful, lovely, warm, people. Their dogs were very playful, and breakfast was very nice. David's chocolate is also to die for! I highly recommend staying at this quaint location.
Darling, quaint home in the heart of Cork. David & Angie are fantastic hosts. They provided maps, suggestions for sightseeing & wifi. We enjoyed every minute! Breakfast in the sunroom was my favorite ....delicious, ample & fresh! Pack warm...it's chilly in Ireland given the wet climate :). Highly recommend!
