David and Angie's nineteenth century elegant Victorian house is located in a secret garden twenty minutes’ walk from the historic centre of Cork City, a European capital of culture, boasting an energetic artistic community.
The house itself has a welcoming atmosphere with beautifully decorated rooms in the period style, spacious and comfortably furnished.
Angie is an artist painter with a studio in the city while David a Chocolatier has his workshop studio in their garden. So while you sit, relax and listen to bird song within the walled garden after a day visiting sites, it's possible to indulge in a little chocolate tasting with a complimentary glass of wine.
In the morning before heading out for a day’s sightseeing, a hearty breakfast is served in the conservatory.
Both David and Angie are very informative about their city and will provide information on current arts events, historic attractions and good restaurants. It’s an ideal place for exploring the Cork region and neighbouring counties.Within walking distance from the Marquee for music events.
Hands on chocolate courses can be arranged where you can make truffles or your own personalised creations and learn the secrets of the chocolate world, can be arranged with prior notice.
David and Angie are exceptional!! My daughter and I loved our experience staying with them. They are extremely warm and gracious, and go far beyond being accommodating!! They were the best! (And David's chocolate is to die for!)
David and Angie were very welcoming and helpful during our stay. House and garden are beautiful.
David and Angie were wonderful hosts, with a lovely home close to Cork City. The house itself was a treasure, but it was also filled with Angie's art, bookshelves, and other unique decorations. The location was ideal for walking into the city, while also being outside of the noise and chaos of the Cork nightlife. Breakfasts were very good and consciously prepared. They even went above and beyond by providing directions, maps, and advice for getting around both the city and county Cork. I would highly recommend staying here!
We stayed one night at this lovely B&B in Cork. The hosts were extremely welcoming, the room was spacious and very quiet and the bed exceedingly comfortable. The breakfast was scrumptious - would certainly recommend anyone to stay here.

David and Angie's home is a combination of an art and artifacts museum with an added bonus of a separate outside abode just for David's yummy chocolate-making business. Needless to say, my friend and I were pleasantly surprised. As novice left side of road drivers, David helped us navigate to their home, which is at first a bit challenging to locate, but with help of easy landmarks, we were fine after that. After a long day of travel from Dingle, we were invited to dine with them the first evening (amazing cooks!), had sumptuous, made to order breakfasts, and were given great advice on where to go and what to do. Icing on top, David gave us a chocolate making session, and Angie took us to her art studio, (she is SO talented) and provided us with a private tour of the city. We also LOVED the dogs. Last day of our trip, a marathon race shut down most of the streets, and Angie did a most gracious act by leading us out of town - we would still be driving around Cork in circles without her help. We bought and will promote David's chocolates too - my friends back home are enjoying their gifts.
David and Angie were great hosts. They allowed us to drop off and leave our bags outside of their schedule when we had to rearrange transportation which was greatly appreciated. David provided us with great locations to spend time and eat in the area. It was a relaxing place to stay. I would recommend David and Angie to anyone headed to the area!
We (my mother, her friend and myself) stayed with David for one night while doing a roadtrip of Ireland. David greeted us with tea and chocolate and we had a great conversation about Ireland and local sites. The house is full of character and art, lovely large bedroom and bathroom. Great breakfast too. We had a short stay but it was great!
My friend Matt and I had the pleasure of staying with David and Angie in Cork for two nights at the beginning of our roadtrip through Ireland. Their art-filled house with the surrounding garden is absolutely lovely, a place with so much soul it warms your heart! David and Angie were perfect hosts, with excellent tips on places to go in Cork, especially dining - I'd love to come back for a longer visit, and would without any hesitation recommend staying with them. It's a must if you are headed for Cork!
Our stay in David's house was very pleasant. Both bedrooms and bathroom were comfortable. The irish breakfast was delicious.
We were warmly wellcomed by David and his wife and had the chance to experience the chocolate making with David.
We indeed recommend to visit them if you make a stop in Cork.
Our stay with David and Angie was absolutely wonderful. They are wonderful hosts offering us wine/tea upon our arrival. The home is lovely with a beautiful garden and artistic flair inside. We enjoyed breakfast in their conservatory which was a perfect way to start the day. Delicious too!! David was very kind to share with us a demonstration on chocolate making.
