David and Angie's nineteenth century elegant Victorian house is located in a secret garden twenty minutes’ walk from the historic centre of Cork City, a European capital of culture, boasting an energetic artistic community.
The house itself has a welcoming atmosphere with beautifully decorated rooms in the period style, spacious and comfortably furnished.
Angie is an artist painter with a studio in the city while David a Chocolatier has his workshop studio in their garden. So while you sit, relax and listen to bird song within the walled garden after a day visiting sites, it's possible to indulge in a little chocolate tasting with a complimentary glass of wine.
In the morning before heading out for a day’s sightseeing, a hearty breakfast is served in the conservatory.
Both David and Angie are very informative about their city and will provide information on current arts events, historic attractions and good restaurants. It’s an ideal place for exploring the Cork region and neighbouring counties.Within walking distance from the Marquee for music events.
Hands on chocolate courses can be arranged where you can make truffles or your own personalised creations and learn the secrets of the chocolate world, can be arranged with prior notice.
No smoking in house
Great place. Little tricky to find, but David was driving around searching for us, which was really helpful. The bed was nice and warm, very nice to crawl in next to a warm water bottle :). David makes his own chocolate, which is delicious! Great homemade granola and the lunch recommendation at farm gate was also much appreciated. Enjoyable stay, thanks for hosting us!
AMAZING - that's the first word that describes this listing and it's hosts.
I have a grand time with David and Angie and truly enjoyed their enormous hospitality.
Lovely room (had the double bed one) and amazing host which was at my disposal if I needed a nice couch or so to read a nice book.
Definitely recommend it!
My daughters and I had the pleasure to stay with David and Angie at their beautiful home. Our stay was fantastic! David and Angie are so welcoming and warm. The rooms were super clean and the beds were very comfortable, we slept like babies. The morning breakfast was so good and filling that we found ourselves full until late afternoon. They have the funniest Jack russells you will ever meet in your life. Freddie, Susie and Bella(The names of the dogs) welcome us with much excitement and got some good friendly loving licks from them. David and Angie were always available and ready to help in any way possible. David has a shop out in the yard of the house where he makes delicious chocolates. He gave us a lesson on how to make them. We even had the opportunity to make some ourselves! When we were ready to leave he surprised us with the chocolate we have made and personalized it with our names. We loved it! Staying with David and Angie felt like we were with family. I greatly advice anyone visiting Cork to stay at their place. It is very close to the city and the down town area. Again, great place.
We stayed there 3 days and it was wonderful! It was an enchanting and colourful little house near the city(10min walk). It's been a great stay and we were very pleased by the room and especially the wonderful Bio-Breakfast. Although david was so kind do offer ous a selfmade chocolat where our names were written. Thank you very much!
David made us feel very welcome. Their home was completely charming and well situated to explore Cork City.
We left with some great restaurant and site seeing recommendations as well as sine of David's chocolates. Highly recommended.
David and Angie's place in cork was lovely. Good location, amenities and they were more than willing to give advice on what to see and do around the city. Loved to see David's chocolate making process as well as Angie's lovely studio in town.
We had an excellent stay with David! Our only disappointment was that we didn't stay long enough. He was very accommodating, and the house was a dream! Thanks again!
