The Space

In the morning before heading out for a day’s sightseeing, a hearty breakfast is served in the conservatory.

Both David and Angie are very informative about their city and will provide information on current arts events, historic attractions and good restaurants. It’s an ideal place for exploring the Cork region and neighbouring counties.Within walking distance from the Marquee for music events.

  • David and Angie made our first two nights in Ireland such a pleasure, we really hated to leave! From the moment we arrived after an early morning drive from Dublin, David took care to welcome us with some wine and snacks before allowing us privacy to rest up and recover from our long flight.

We enjoyed getting to know them over shared bottles of wine, delicious gourmet breakfasts and even a quick car ride into town offered so that we wouldn't have to worry about parking one evening when we would be out late with friends. Their home is full of character and charm and you can tell that they take pride in their town, where Angie has a painting studio and is very involved in the art scene. If you love dogs, you will adore the three Jack Russell terriers too!

I was so impressed with the genuine kindness extended to us on our stay - little details like a hand-drawn map to guide us to a cookery school in a nearby town, chocolates left on the night stand and a hot water bottle tucked into bed to keep it warm for us after a late night. David has a little chocolate studio and we purchased some of his creations to take back with us as souvenirs for ourselves and our friends.

We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Cork and to Ireland. Thank you David & Angie!

  • I enjoyed a wonderful weekend in Cork in David's and Angie's beautiful and artistic home. They were superb hosts - lovely to talk to and really made me feel I was home away from home. Scrumptious breakfast - especially the soda bread. My Cork weekend was a real treat, and I will certainly return.

  • We had a wonderful time staying in David and Angies beautiful home ! They treated us like personal guests , David spoiled us with chocolate and gave us a lift into the city centre that evening . The following morning we had an amazing breakfast in their gorgeous conservatory . They also gave us personalised chocolate for our little girl ( which didn't last long ! ) we will be back !

  • My friend and I enjoyed staying with David and Angie. I feel like they really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. We each had our own room and their home is lovely and is decorated with the eye of an artist. We most enjoyed taking our breakfast in their beautiful conservatory. With a 20 minute walk to the center of Cork and access to buses that take you to Blarney Castle (only 6 km from Cork), I would recommend staying here.

  • David and Angie are very nice. I felt very comfortable in their home, like I was visiting friends or family. They are both creative, kindhearted people. Their house is as lovely as they are. I would defiantly recommend staying here and hope to go back in the future.

Thank you both for helping make my holiday so special.

  • David and Angie were most welcoming and courteous to us during our stay. On our arrival we enjoyed tea and apple pie in the conservatory and the following morning were provided with a delicious breakfast. Our room was comfortable and homely and the large bathroom had a decent shower. We would be happy to stay there on another trip to Cork.

  • SO. If you are an artist, you have a connection to the arts community in Cork. If you're a foodie, you have an accomplished food business man and chocolatier. If you like art and STUFF, this is the house for you. If you like homemade granola and lovely jams, sign up. Not to mention the three (3!!!) Jack Russell Terriers who are so friendly and a great sideshow out of your bedroom window. Angie and David are full of in town tips, leading you to the laundry or grocery, shortcuts to the motor route. We loved our stay and even the creaky floors. Thanks. Angie and David.

  • This is a great place to stay. The house is beautiful and full of character. David and Angie are fantastic hosts who went out of their way to help us out. We left the house with postcard prints of Angie's work while eating David's home-made chocolate, a real treat.

  • I needed to book accommodation for my Brother and his partner at the last minute for the Bruce Springstein concert in Pairc Ui Caoimh and stumbled upon David's page for his guesthouse. I am sooooo glad I did as my Brother and Partner absolutely loved it! Quote from my brother :) "It is a beautiful house and garden in a great location close to city centre and Pairc Ui Caoimh. David and Angie were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful. Glass of wine on arrival was a lovely touch. David also gave us a tour of his Chocolate Workshop which was lovely. We will definitely stay here again and would wholeheartedly recommend it to any of our friends who are looking for a place to stay in Cork City. The only downfall was that we didn't get to stay for longer".
Once I make it back home to Ireland, my brother and Partner have suggested that we head to Cork for a few days and stay in David and Angie's guesthouse. By the sounds of things, I cannot wait!! :)
