Great stay in Positano! The appartment has a terrace with a beautiful view and is nicely furnished! :)
Giovanna was very nice and helpful.
Our stay at La Casarella in Positano was everything that we hoped it would be. We were greeted by the smiling face of Giovanna's mother, followed by Giovanna herself, who welcomed us warmly.
The apartment was ideally situated for us, overlooking Positano, with amazing views, but very quiet & away from the crowds.
There is a little grocery store next door where we could buy the basics, plus beer & wine (very cheap!). Also, the local restaurant, only a few doors away, was fantastic. We ate there every night & were treated like old friends.
The bus stop for the local bus is just down the road & we used it most days to either go in to Positano (we walked down a couple of times - many steps!) or further up the mountains. It was usually packed, but reliable & a great experience!
We can thoroughly recommend La Casarella!
PS. Giovanna organized a car to pick us up at Napoli Centrale & to drop us back there at the end of our week's stay & that worked out very well & allowed us a relaxing transfer.
We stayed with Giovanna for over a week during August 2013. We were greeted by her brother, Luigi, who kindly picked us up from the Positano Shuttle drop off point. The apartment is very neat and tidy and everything is in great working order. There is a working stovetop, aircon and the wifi works well too. Giovanna's parents live next door and you share a balcony with them but that's fine, they are lovely people. It's actually nice to have them there because they regularly check to see if everything is ok and even do your washing! Brilliant.
The view from the apartment is great because it's situated high on the hill. The stairs on the other hand are a different story! We generally walked down them to the beach but coming back up is hilariously tiring. Great workout for your butt if that's what you're after! Not to worry though, there is bus from Positano main beach that drops you right out front of the apartment. We actually preferred being up the hill because you're away from the tourists and it feels a lot more local. Rather than hanging around Positano we did a lot of exploring up and down the coast. The apartments position is great for this. I cant recommend hiring a scooter and doing some exploring enough, it was the highlight of our stay. We found some secluded beaches that we never would have found if we stuck to the tourist trail. Positano is best for its restaurants so we spent most of our time there at night. The days were spent up and down the coast. Do it.
Giovanna is lovely and is on hand to offer advice whenever you need it/
Overall I can't recommend Giovanna's place enough. If you're after a simple but well equipped little apartment this is the place for you.
We had a lovely stay at Giovanna's apartment which has fantastic views of Positano and easy access to the town by the local bus which passes right past the door, or via a never ending staircase to the bottom - not for the faint hearted but much easier down than up! Although we never met Giovanna, her mother looked after us and despite the language barrier (she spoke no English and we spoke almost no Italian) we were able to communicate well enough to get the job done. The apartment is small but was immaculate when we got there - the kitchen has everything you need, the shower was great, and the air-con excellent. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone who likes it quiet and does not want to be in the middle of town - it is a 10 minute bus trip or 20 min walk in and the walk back up the stairs is tough but there are a few buses you can catch. However, it is not far from the Sorrento bus-stop (near the Tabacchi), and has a mini-market and restaurant just down the road, and for the other food like milk, cheese, meat etc there is a small shop at the bottom of the first set of stairs opposite the Tabacchi.
The reservation was canceled 45 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This was our home in Positano for a week and we loved every minute. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and an amazing view. Its a bit or a climb from the marina, but well worth it. And, if you dont feel like using the stairs, theres a local bus thats very easy to use. Giovanna and her Mother are wonderful host.
Giovanna was very helpful and good-tempered - we arrived in Positano much later than expected. the view from the apartment over the village and the sea was amazing and the apartment was very nice.
Giovanna is the perfect host! Despite arriving rather late into Positano, she was there to welcome us and helped us when we got lost!
The small bottle of Presecco waiting in the fridge was most welcome after our long day!
The apartment was perfect for what we needed. Large comfortable bed and a decent shower.
We opted to eat in a number of Positano's fine restaurants and didn't make use of the ktichen facilities - although it looked very well equipped.
If we ever return to Positano, we will most definitely return to Giovanna's!
We had a great stay in Positano at Apartment La Casarella. Amazing town & a perfect place to spend time & relax. Start of walking path Sentiero degli dei very close by. Great to venture up here! Amazing view from the apartment too as you can see from the photos. Thanks Giovanna for the great place to stay & for the Easter treat! Great & welcoming place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay very much and felt very welcomed by Giovanna and her Mom. They are very friendly and helpful and gave us useful information about local restaurants, shops, which busses to take etc. The apartment is tastefully furnished and very clean and has a fantastic view of Positano. The size of the apartment was adequate for us and the kitchen facilities perfect to cook a meal or two when we didn't go out. One thing to note is that due to the position of the apartment there are a lot of stairs to climb from the main road, but that said, it is virtually impossible to avoid stairs in Positano! We would definitely recommend staying at La Casarella.
