Our house is perfectly located for getting to know central London and its sights. The excellent transport links also make our house ideal if you are working in London short-term e.g. as an actor, artist, academic or project-worker.
We live in zone 1 on a residential street in the heart of Paddington, close to the famous St Mary’s Hospital where penicillin was discovered. The public transport connections are fantastic, with central London sights such as Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square only 15 minutes away by tube. It’s a 7 minute walk to Hyde Park, a 15 minute walk to Marble Arch at the start of Oxford Street and a short trip to Portobello Market in Notting Hill by bus or tube. There are lots of restaurants and traditional pubs in the area. The newly developed Paddington Basin is a 5 minute walk away and has lovely places to eat by the canal just south of Little Venice.
We are renting a double room with a kingsized bed that is on the first floor of our house. It has a bathroom next to it, with bath and shower attachment. The bathroom is shared.
We have a lovely kitchen, which you can share and we’ll provide tea, coffee, cereal and bread/toast. You are also welcome to use our living room.
We also have wireless internet/internet access, which is included in the price.
For an additional person after the first it costs an additional £30 per night per person.
Had a really enjoyable evening with Julia and Jerry. They are great hosts. I highly recommend them. their home is a great place to stay if you are visiting or working in London.
Everything perfect. Really nice people, friendly and super tips where to go in London. Location is clean and central.
The room was perfect! Large comfortable bed, plenty of storage, warm, close to the shared bathroom and quiet on the second story. Jerry greeted me, gave me directions from Paddington Station, helped me get my luggage up the stairs and showed me around his home on 3 stories! It was fun staying in an older place with modern amenities. Though only a one night stay I was very happy with the accommodation.
Jerry directed me to their local Victorian pub, which was exactly what I wanted for my last night in Great Britain! I could have chosen to eat food from almost anywhere in the world!
It was a quiet residential street, I felt safe walking by myself after dark & was glad it was so close to the station for ease of travel.
When I returned from my pub meal, I met Julia, who offered tea and she & Jerry & I had a nice conversation which I enjoyed immensely. Julia & I found we had a mutual interest in gardening & could have stayed up much later talking with one another. But, alas, an early morning & a desire for a good nights rest (which I got) beckoned.
Jerry greatest me in the morning and I was off for the last leg if my trip after a light breakfast.
I would definitely recommend Jerry & Julia as hosts, their home as a comfortable place to stay, and their location as excellent. I hope to return to Great Britain and also hope I could stay with them again!
Very warm welcome, very clean and convenient to paddington station, lovely room, generous hostess.
The hosts were extremely friendly (with dinner offers), helpful (with local travel tips and transit cards), and accommodating. I'd stay here again anytime.
Efficient, well located and value for money...
Jerry's a good host: informative without being intrusive...
My experience with Julia and her partner was great. The room was perfect and the apartment was located in a very convenient spot -- about a 5 minute walk to Paddington tube station. Julia offered me tea on several occasions. Though my interactions were limited, the time I did spend with Julia and Jerry was very nice. They both had great suggestions about how to spend my time in London and they were both very easy to talk to. Jerry provided me with an Oyster card and a decent map of London. The only critique I have is that they should fix the shower. This accommodation was modest, but perfect for the price.

We're a fun couple who love living in London and having people to stay. We're passionate about the city and its history, in fact we're just setting up our own walking tours. We love cooking and making great cakes. Our current favourite is banana and chocolate cake but the yorkshire scones are not far behind. We also like writing songs, the quiz at our local and lovely pub, and watching films. We're very easy going and relaxed when hosting.
