James and Laura made us feel very comfortable from the start. Their communication about how to access the room was excellent. The room is open, airy, and cheerful. Laura even cut beautiful fresh flowers from the garden to decorate the bedroom and bathroom. The setting, on the farm, is very special. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast before setting off to bike around bucolic Northfield. Our hosts gave us great recommendations for our trip and a warm farewell.
We thoroughly enjoyed our two-day stay at the Perry Farm. Our hosts were delightful, the room was lovely, spacious and very well kept, and our breakfasts each morning were delicious. Our hosts welcomed our interest in seeing all the animals and provided really helpful suggestions of local spots to visit. Highly recommend!
We loved every aspect of our restful, fun stay at the Perry Family Farm. James and Laura Perry were delightful, and we enjoyed impromptu chats with them as we came and went. The views from our room of the rolling countryside and the mountain ranges in the distance were amazing. Our room was cozy, spotless, and pretty. We enjoyed falling asleep to refreshing breezes and waking up to farm animal noises and a delicious breakfast. The farm's location provided easy access to a wide range of restaurants and attractions in Montpelier, Warren and Waitsfield. We also frequented the nearby East Warren Community Market for sandwiches, coffee and snacks (charming and quaint). Last but not least, we loved hanging out at the farm -- strolling the grounds and appreciating the wild flowers, chickens, ducks, pigs and cows -- and asking James questions about farm life. We're still talking about how much we enjoyed our getaway and are already planning to return next year! Couldn't have asked for a better vacation :)
We came down for skiing around Christmas to Sugarbush Mountain and decided to stay at Perry Farm. The place is about a 25 minute drive from Warren (town with several great restaurant and bars) and 35 minutes away from Sugarbush Ski Resort.
We had a separate section of the house with our own entrance to ourselves. Perfect if you’re looking for a quiet place and privacy.
The farm had a cow and a pig living nearby the house. Despite the proximity of the animals, the place was very clean and the hosts even let us pet the animals. You could also buy some fresh beef and pork while visiting.
The hosts were very helpful with directions, ski rental recommendations and restaurants in the area. Generally very nice and friendly people, and facilitate multiple requests that we had. Overall we had a great stay.
James was very pleasant welcoming us. Our room was clean, warm and cozy. Views were wonderful from the windows of the surrounding countryside and mountains. Quiet and peaceful yet close enough to restaurants, the capital, Montpelier and of course Ben & Jerry's and Cold Hollow Cider farm...our favorites. We enjoyed our weekend!
This is my first time to stay at a family farm and we're so glad we did! James and Laura were fantastic hosts - always checking on us to see if we needed anything. We so appreciated them accommodating heating up our dinner and providing a light but yummy breakfast. It was a great experience to go around the farm, meet Prudence the Pig and Hazel the Cow and get to know a little bit about how they run the place. It was exactly the experience we were looking and hoping for.
We stayed at the apartment and it was spacious, cozy and very clean. Bathroom was huge, new and sparkling clean!
If you're looking to feel like a Vermont local living in a farm with great amenities, this is the perfect place!
James and his wife were very welcoming and hospitable. Staying on a working animal farm was a first for us and was a very enjoyable experience. The neighborhood was classic rural Vermont. We loved driving through the winding partially paved mountain roads and the views were incredible.
