Detached house! What better way to experience San Francisco than staying in an authentic and renovated 1890 Victorian (one of those tourists come here to gaze at), in a central location yet on a safe, quiet and charming street, with attractions, food, shopping and public transportation within walking distance? Furthermore, the luxury of 3 bedrooms and two baths at this price point is very rare in a top rated location in town. While our street is quiet, it's one block from Haight. Lots of fun shopping, cafes and restaurants within short walking distance. The house built as a duplex has two levels, the flat offered is all on the first floor. Located between two popular city parks, Buena Vista Park and Duboce Park. High ceilings, wood floors, period moldings. Bathrooms and kitchen recently remodeled providing the best of the old and new. The real San Francisco experience!

Short bus or easy 20min walk to Golden Gate Park, the Mission. Quick MUNI (metro train) to Downtown, Embarcadero, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, Chinatown… and the experience of one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in San Francisco.
Lower unit does NOT mean street level... twenty-two steps from street to the entrance of our single level flat, allowing for great privacy.
*Please note: the house is ideal for 2 couples and up to three children, or a maximum of 3 couples (6 adults and no children).
Nothing is off limits, guests have the whole space to use as they wish. While family gatherings are fine, no parties allowed.
Interaction with Guests
To make my whole house available to guests, I often stay with my daughter's family in the neighborhood, or leave town periodically. When out of town, I communicate extensively via text or email and am always available by phone.
The neighborhood is simply beautiful, with restored late 1800/early 1900's Victorians all around. Buena Vista Park is just up the hill surrounded by amazing archictectural gems and breathtaking views of the city and the bay. Duboce Park a block away is also surrounded by such quaint beautiful houses that are on the tour bus route (those buses avoid our block because of our short hill, keeping our section of our street a quiet secret!) Yet with Haight St and Divisadero just a block away, public transportation, grocery stores, cafes and restaurants abound within a short walk.

Absolutely NO SMOKING allowed in the unit!! If you must smoke, please do so outside on back patio, or the covered front (in case of rain), but always with the doors of the house CLOSED.
No pets, please.
Please treat our home with respect. It's not a rental, it's our home that we make available whenever possible. We strive for our guests' appreciation and recommendations, it should go both ways.
This is the lower flat in a 2-unit building. Two VERY quiet long-term occupants upstairs. Courtesy mindfulness of loudness after 10pm expected.

We had a wonderful stay in SF. Emily is a very nice person. Her house has everything I need. After 6 nights stay, I almost take it as my home. Thanks Emily for proving us such a good pace to stay.
It was great, everything was as advertised, easy to find everything, helpful apartment guide. Quiet, nice neighborhood, short bus or cab ride to wherever.
Emily was nice and easy going. No problem letting one guest check in a little early.
We really enjoyed our stay at Emilie's, the house has character and is perfectly clean. And it is very quiet! Also so well located, in a safe area, close enough to Castro and the Mission, and two steps from Haight and Divisadero, where you can shop and find nice restaurants and bars.
The communication with Emilie was very smooth since the begining, and she has been a very considerate host overall, bringing us a local beer that we could taste.
We highly recommend staying in this lovely house.
We had a great time at Emilie's charming Victorian apartment, which really is charming. It suited our group of 5 very well. It's an excellent location, and the neighborhood is lovely and quiet. Very nice area to walk with parks nearby and restaurants and cafes. It was a bonus that Emilie was around for our visit. She is charming, too!
The property was delightful - full of character and those steps really are as steep as they look. The place was immaculately tidy and superbly decorated. So much attention to detail. We were a bit worried that we'd be stuck out of town but the Metro and bus service were just superb - I'd recommend the 3-day Muni tickets as they cover all city transport and the cable cars and are even better value than Uber! Overall we couldn't fault any part of the process, host, property or location.......
The location was wonderful for us. And Emilie was a perfect host. We never had the opportunity to meet her because she was out of town, but she was in touch with us regularly to make sure that everything was going smoothly and that was much appreciated by all of us.
Emilie had to be away but organised everything just right for our arrival in San Francisco and the apartment was all as described. It had a very well equipped kitchen, and good bathroom facilities.
Seating area in the sitting room was tight, but with so many rooms and separate areas it was easy to find somewhere to relax.
The location was really great and we were able to visit Haight, the Golden Gate Park and shops on foot, whilst the Muni tram took us into Downtown easily. The area itself was very safe and pleasant with great cafes and lovely architecture. Buena Vista park has wonderful views.

I came to San Francisco for the first time many years ago to visit my daughter. I couldn't visit for long, sleeping in her and her roommate's living room. Time together was precious, hotels were too far and too expensive. My dream of owning a house close to daughter and grandchildren came true.
I am now living the dream of hosting fellow visiting parents and grandparents, in addition to vacationers, business travelers, individuals and families the world over. I really enjoy sharing my house and my city.
My husband and I love family, friends, music, nature, great food and wine, old movies, sports. We are hikers, birders and world travelers. We appreciate cultural diversity and individual uniqueness.
My motto: Dream it, love it, expect it, and you will experience it!
