The Space

We are a small diverse hill farm nestled in the Green Mountains of Central Vermont. We believe diversity is crucial to maintaining a healthy environment. Our newly constructed accommodation is relaxing and comforting. Cook your locally purchased foods in your own fully equipped kitchen. Entertain friends inside or outside on the deck with views over rolling countryside, distant mountains, and the roaming farm animals. The apartment has one queen bedroom with a private bath. We are located centrally in the Green Mountain State. Local to the state capitol, Montpelier, and several ski resorts including Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area, many of which serve locally grown food.
Winter Note: 4x4 or awd is recommended during the winter months.

  • We had a fantastic time at the Perry Family Farm. It's a perfect place to stay for a Vermont getaway. The room was lovely and came with a beautiful view. James gave the guests a very charming tour of the farm, sold us some great bacon, and even let me in on tips for what to do in England (where he's from and I live).

  • This was a perfect winter getaway from the city. James and Laura were wonderful hosts. We can't wait to come back in the summer. And the bacon was amazing!

  • The accommodations at the farm were quite comfortable and the setting is beautiful. We really enjoyed the animals and relaxing atmosphere. James and Laura are both lovely people;very helpful and generous with their time and breakfast supplies. We didn't venture out from the farm, as we made our dinner in our room, so we cannot comment on nearby entertainment/food options, but we took a wonder early morning walk along the country roads.

  • We loved staying on James and Laura's farm -- only wish the stay could have been longer! The apartment was so comfortable with a great gas range stove, big refrigerator, plenty of living space and an ultra-comfy bed. We had access to their veggie garden and they provided us with farm eggs, coffee & bread for breakfast. And to top it off, James and Laura just seemed like genuinely kind people. They were nice enough to give us some tips on scenic driving routes and where to get local maple syrup on the cheap. We can't wait to stay with them again.

  • My husband and I spent 4 wonderful days in early September at the Perry Family farm, and we cannot say enough good things about our stay! James and Laura were amazing hosts...they set up a grill for our use, offered us fresh veggies from their garden, and we bought delicious meat and eggs raised on their farm! Being surrounded by the lush, rolling hills and all the livestock helped us to relax into our farmstay experience right away. The apartment was very well appointed, clean , and super comfortable! They graciously provided superb ground coffee and fresh milk four our breakfast, and we enjoyed using their great kitchen for cooking during our stay. Another plus was that when the sliding glass door was closed, we could not hear any sounds from the outside...we were amazed that it blocked out the sounds of the roosters crowing in the morning! James and Laura also informed us about the New World Celtic Music Festival that was going on while we were there, and we spontaneously spent the evening enjoying the festival with our hosts! We loved our stay and plan on returning to visit our new friends at the farm. Thanks James and Laura! ~September 2013

  • We were very happy with the apartment on James and Laura's farm. The hosts were nice to chat with. We got to pick fresh vegetables from the garden. The apartment seems freshly renovated. Spacious. Nice kitchen. Nice deck. It was perfect for us. We spent our days hiking in the Green Mountains and returned each evening to a comfortable apartment to cook a nice dinner. I'd be happy to stay here again.

  • We loved our stay with James and Laura on their lovely farm. Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice retreat out in the VT mountains. May be a great place for a work retreat as well, research or writing. The house is very comfortable and nicely decorated. Great porch, quiet, just gorgeous surroundings. We were in the queen room with kitchen and living area and it was perfect. The farm is near to many towns that are worth a visit too, and not far at all from Montpelier. James and Laura were super helpful and friendly. Loved the animals! Only complaint was we couldn't stay longer, two nights was too short.

  • As we were leaving on Sunday morning, we both agreed that this is one of the best places we've ever stayed. The bed was really comfortable, we had a phenomenal view and it was the perfect place to get snowed in. The Perry family is extremely generous- they even towed out our car when it got stuck in the ice and snow on the way there and sold us some of their delicious meat and eggs when we realized the snow was too strong to go out to dinner. We can't wait to return and we have already recommended to family and friends! thank you!

  • The Perry Farm is absolutely beautiful! Plenty of warm water, heat, wonderful kitchen for cooking, and they provided delicious Vermont coffee and milk. A nice scenic drive through the back roads of Warren and you're at Sugarbush. Found a great grocery store in Waitsfield (Mehuron's, not far from Sugarbush) and got everything we needed to cook dinner back at the farm. Too bad we didn't read the info before we shopped, though. Otherwise we would have bought fresh beef, sausage and eggs from the Perrys! Laura and James were so kind and our stay was amazing. Already trying to figure out how to return, preferably when it's not 9 degrees outside. Brrr.

  • For my son's 4th Birthday all he wanted was snow. So, the search for a snow drenched destination began. After emailing dozens of airbnb spots about whether or not they in fact had snow on the ground, I came across James' Farm. I was delighted to find a spot that would give my son the snow he so desired, and also give him the chance to see a few farm animals. The apt was fantastic and far exceeded my expectations. I would agree with previous reviewers that the pictures do not do the apt or the scenery justice. My son and I had lots of fun on the farm and exploring the area. James and his family were splendid hosts. I would highly recommend a stay on the farm and we hope to be returning sometime soon!
