About This Listing
During my business trips and private holidays I sublet my nice room in a spacious shared flat with everything you need for life and feeling comfortable.
About the room:
It's 175 sq ft in size and has a big window towards the courtyard. 2 people can comfortably sleep in the bed (4 feet 8 inches width) and there is also a wardrobe, a shelf and a desk. I'll free some parts of the wardrobe so that you can use it. On the 24" screen you can watch TV or connect your computer. A map of the city and the underground is ready for you to go and explore Munich. Sheets, blankets and towels are provided.
It consists of 4 rooms in total plus kitchen, bathroom, and balcony. My roommate (25) lives in one of the rooms, me in another and the third bedroom is meant for family and friends or we we sublet it once in a while. In addition we have a spacious living and eating room (ca. 430 sq ft) with a dining table, 2 futons, coffee table and projector & screen.
The kitchen is separate and next to the eating room, equipped with everything you need: washer, dryer, freezer, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, sharp knives and all the other stuff one needs in a kitchen. In the bathroom we have a bathtub with a shower and a toilet.
All the common rooms and equipment are for shared use, moreover we have WiFi with fast internet available.
Our apartment is located in a quiet side street in 'Bogenhausen' between 'Herkomerplatz' and 'Richard-Strauss-Straße' in the 1st floor of an apartment building. The metro stop 'Richard-Strauss-Straße' (U4, green line) is only 660 ft (200m) away and provides excellent connection to the city center (Odeonsplatz, 7min) and the main station (10min) without having to transfer. The airport is outside the city and can be reached in about 45min via S-Bahn. Super markets, drug stores, and banks/ATMs are also only 660 ft (200m) away. 'Bogenhausen' is a very nice, quiet neighborhood with many villas and parks, therefore you hardly find a bar in walking distance, but public transportation brings you in less than 15min to bar and club districts. But you'll find some restaurants and bakeries close by.
No smoking inside the apartment, you may go the balcony to smoke.
Please clean up after yourself in the kitchen.
Nice Room, everything you need. Living together with Philips friends, I felt like I could stay longer.
Time was rare, so I couldn't chat that much, but Philipp left a map and some books about munich. I recommend going to the museums on sunday, it's only one euro entrance fee.
Philipp made a first class arrangement for us. Everything was as described. When we arrived Philipp's flatmate Federico has welcomed us so warmly that we were already feeling home within our first step in the living room.
The house is really well equipped and it has high standards. I would recommend anybody for short or long stay in Munich.
Philipp und Jean-Michael sind zwei entspannte Zeitgenossen. Das Zimmer ist sauber und in ruhiger Lage. Zum englischen Garten ist es nicht weit.
Philipp is very nice and understanding. Right from the start, his reply to my urgent request was quick. His apartment is simply perfect. It is very clean, and in good condition. It's spacious, with lots of light, very quiet and very comfortable. The metro station is just within 5 minutes away, and you can get to the city center in about 20-30 minutes. There are also supermarkets close by, making it very convenient.
It was a pity that I only met him in person for 20 minutes, as he was starting a trip himself on my arrival day. Otherwise, I am sure he would have a lot of interesting travel stories to share (judging from the bookshelves of travel guide books he has).
About the Host, Philipp
I like travelling a lot, especially in Latin America as i love the spanish language, but also across Europe. I'm open minded and like to get to know new people from different cultures and show them around in Munich where I'm living now for more than 7 years and I don't plan to move away ;) During my studies I used couchsurfing a lot, both for hosting and surfing other people's couches. I'm also still registered there but recently I discovered airbnb and want to try it out since I also moved to a new apartment which is very nice and spacious ;) I'm happy to welcome you to my room when I'm on vacation or on a business trip or also to our guest room (see different offer).
My roommate and me are both 26 years old and during the week we usually work between 9am and 5pm, but we both have very flexible working hours and locations. We provide you with information and maps of Munich and would be happy to grab a beer, wine or coffee together!
