The Space

Le Guglie Bed and Breakfast is a charming yellow building located in the historical centre of Venice, in the neighborhood of the ancient Jewish Getto, a few steps from Rialto and St. Mark's Square.
The property overlooks the Cannaregio Canal which is directly connected to the world famous Grand Canal, well known for its beautiful and fascinating palaces full of history.

We are located in the Cannaregio district, 30 minutes by boat from the Marco Polo International Airport, 5 minutes walking distance from the Santa Lucia Train Station and 10 minutes from Piazzale Roma, the Venetian terminal for buses and cars.
The closest public transport Actv stop water bus is "Guglie" at about 50 metres from us.

All the rooms are situated at the second floor of the building which has been recently renovated. Each room is furnished with an en-suite bathroom, shower, air conditioning, safe, a mini fridge, WIFI internet hotspot and satellite TV set with SKY. Furthermore the appartment is supplied with a well equipped kitchen with all the necessity for morning breakfast.

Le Guglie Bed and Breakfast is a cozy family atmosphere where you can meet people from all over the world and easily make friends in the morning during breakfast time in the kitchen which is in common!

My name is Fabio, I'm your host that run the B&B, I'm a friend and I can speak english as I used to live and have a job in London(UK) long ago! You can share your Venetian experience with me and ask me all the time for advice or indications!!!!

P.s. In the morning I like to bake sometimes nice cakes and custards! Italian hand made(by me)!!!!

Interaction with Guests

I live at the BnB so, I'm pretty much reliable during the morning from 8:00 untill 12:00 and I usually sleep here. During afternoons and evenings unless I'm waiting anybody to show up for the check in, I usually live my life and I'm not present in the building.

  • Fabio could not be nicer, we could have chatted for a while if we had more time. he gave us the best indications and even printed out a list of places to visit.
I really like the neigborhood conveniently located near the train station and about a 25 min walk to st marc.

  • Ahhhh this is by far my favorite Air B&B experience to date, especially while traveling in Italy. Fabio is an amazing host and his space and simply the best. All of the little details you would expect (and more) are there - plenty of pillows, towels, blankets, delicious breakfast in the morning, coffee/tea maker in room, hard candies, bottled water in the small refrigerator, etc.

Fabio not only let us choose our room since we were oddly the only ones there (I was surprised since it was June after all!) and of course chose the one overlooking the canal - it was picture perfect and quite spacious. Yes the bathroom is small and Fabio openly admits to it, but everything works great and is so clean, so who cares if you have to pee at a slight angle? I sure didn't.

On top of being a delightful host, Fabio went above and beyond during our stay. We were there during the first round matches of the world cup and wanted to watch a late night game, but our TV wouldn't provide that channel. Fabio called the TV provider to see what the problem was as well as provided extensive options to try and help us, but in the end just wouldn't work on our TV. So then Fabio invited us down to his flat (on the 1st floor of the B&B) to watch the game with him! It was a great time, he shared some beer and melon and was a great host. We also got to meet his new puppy Pepe who is simply adorable.

Book Le Guglie and you won't be disappointed! Fabio, next time we are back in Venice we definitely know where we will be staying!

  • Our stay with Fabio at his Le Guglie B&B was really enjoyable. Fabio made us feel welcome and provided us with all the local information we needed for our time in Venice. His B&B facilities are first class and the location was central to most places of interest. Thanks Fabio.

  • We loved our recent stay at Le Guglie Bed and Breakfast in Venice and would highly recommend it!!
Fabio was very helpful prior to our visit, sending us information about how to get to his place, and he was very responsive to all email questions. He was a very friendly and nice young man, and the check-in process was quick. He lives on the second floor (one floor up from ground level), and he helped carry our bags up to the next (third) floor where the three rooms he rents out are located, along with a charming "self-serve" breakfast room. Our room was lovely, and if we stuck our heads out the window, we had a view of the Cannaregio canal. The room was spacious and comfortable, and he had provided amenities including shampoo, soap, etc. And the air conditioning worked well and was much appreciated as the weather was very warm when we were there (early June, 2014).
I cannot complete this review without mentioning the ideal location of this bed and breakfast! The Guglie water taxi stop is 2 minute walk away, the train station is a 10 minute walk, and the bus station is 20 minutes away. It was incredibly easy to find his place, and to get around once we were there.
Thank you, Fabio, we hope to come back some day!!

  • Overall I enjoyed my stay with fabio. The location was close to the train station which made travelling easier. It was quite a distance away from San Marco sq but that allowed me to explore Venice. The area was private and having my own roof top balcony was a major plus ++. Thanks fabio. He was kind enough to let us leave our luggage whilst waiting for our train.
Unfortunately the wifi was down during most of our stay there. Otherwise very nice experience.

  • I believe I stayed at the best place in Venice. Great location near the train station and on a quit canal. The drinking fountain outside the window made for a tranquil environment. The breakfast room is so quaint and adorable, equipped with all the you will need if you choose to eat in. Fabio was so welcoming and helpful with the best dinner suggestion right downstairs. Again can't say how convenient this place was. Clean too. Only regret was that we had to leave. Thanks Fabio

"Sono un ragazzo, mi piacciono le ragazze..." diceva Paul McCartney un paio di anni fa mentre era ospite al David Letterman Show quando gli chiesero di descriversi...Ma che dire, Sir Paul è un mito!!! Parliamo di me, allora! Beh, fare i caffè...
