Getting Around

Tai O is situated on the western side of Lantau Island, the largest island within Hong Kong territory. The airport is located to the north of Lantau and Tung Chung is a transportation hub. If you want to get to the city area from Tai O, you have to go to Tung Chung for fast connection by metro (MTR), or go towards east of the island to Mui Wo, where you can catch a ferry to Central. By public transport, bus number 11 connects Tai o to Tung Chung, and bus number 1 to Mui Wo.

From the Hong Kong International Airport, if you wish to use public transport to come to Tai O, you should get on S1 to go to Tung Chung Citygate

From HK Macau Ferry Terminal to Tai O:
When you (email hidden) Macau Ferry Terminal, go to the Sheung Wan MTR station underneath Shun Tak Centre. Travel one stop along Island line to Central station. There, walk across to Hong Kong Station (they are connected and you don't have to exit the gate). At Hong Kong station, travel along Tung Chung line to Tung Chung terminus. Go through exit B. Walk across the fountain square and you'll come to a bus terminal on the other side of Citygate. Take bus no.11, destination Tai O. Travel for 45 minutes and you'll arrive at the Tai O bus terminus.
