This fully furnished apartment with one bath is conveniently located in sunny Potrero Hill, just 2 blocks from 18th street shops and restaurants. The unit is on the ground floor, has a private entrance, a fully equipped kitchen, separate living, dining and office areas, bathroom with bathtub, and access to a quaint back yard.
The apartment was built as a convenient spot for grandparents and other relatives to use during their visits. Please note that while the space is usually quiet, the pitter-patter (and occasional thunk!) of our 2 young children can sometimes be heard in the unit in morning and evening hours.
If you're looking to explore other parts of the city, the unit is just a 5 minute drive to downtown and is 2-3 blocks from major MUNI bus and train lines (Bus lines 22 and 10 are both within 3 blocks; the Third Street "T" line is less than a 10 minute walk; The 22nd Street Caltrain stop to other points on the Peninsula and San Jose is 2 blocks away). There's also easy access to Interstates 101 and 280 and hassle free street parking.
About the Potrero Hill District
Potrero Hill is one of those wonderful, undiscovered neighborhoods in our iconic city. Relatively quiet and laid back, the residential streets are unusually clean (for San Francisco ; ), and every house seems to have a small garden, flower box or tree planted out front.
Potrero Hill also boasts some of the best weather in the bay area. On the Hill, you can relax in brilliant sunshine while watching fog engulf the rest of the city. The sunny weather lends itself to another of the Hill's main attractions: the view. Many streets in Potrero offer breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the bay.
Lastly, although Potrero is probably best described as "residential", recent development activities along the waterfront have ushered in a host of new restaurants and shops along the 18th Street corridor (2 blocks away) and in the nearby Dogpatch neighborhood (6 blocks away).

My Experience with Stacey and Norman was nothing but positive. The apartment was in good shape and they were friendly hosts.
I would definitely recommend Stacey and Norman to a friend and would not hesitate to turn to them again myself.
Great place. Great neighborhood. I will stay here again when I visit SF!
We had a great stay at Norm and Stacey's apt! Great accommodations and hosts - would recommend to anyone else looking for a place to stay in SF!
My first Airbnb and I would do it again, and would use this spot again. This is close to some work I need to do in SF, so this works for me.
Norm and Stacy were good hosts and took care of the place and any needs I had quickly.
Stacey and Norm were great to deal with and very accommodating. We were in town during a very unusual cold spell. The apartment does not have any central heating/cooling so it happened to be very cold our first night/morning. I did see a previous comment regarding the space heater not being sufficient, however I didn't realize the apartment had no central heating. If I had, I am not sure this would have deterred me as if it weren't for the unseasonably cold weather there would not have been a problem.
When I notified Stacey in the morning, she was very responsive and provided an extra heater/blanket. This was sufficient for us, however it may not have been for young children or older adults. There was also an electrical issue (that was probably a result of the unseasonably cold weather). Again Stacey and Norm were extremely responsive and addressed the issue immediately.
We were there for a conference and Stacey allowed us the use of their printer, and also helped us to get into town at the last minute to get to a show. In addition, they contacted me after we returned to let me know they found some items we had left behind and offered to ship them to us.
The apartment is in a very cute and safe neighborhood. It is a few blocks from a market and the train stop. There are a handful of restaurants and bars within a short walk.
I would definitely recommend staying with Norm and Stacey (although maybe not during an extreme heat or cold spell)!
The apartment in Norm & Stacey's home was perfect for my stay -- it is private, clean, comfortable and spacious. I was able to relax in the living room and use the desk to get work done when need be.
The location is also amazing -- beautiful views of the city and the bay, just blocks from the 22nd Caltrain station for easy commuting down the peninsula and also a quick walk to the 18th street in Potrero, which has several fantastic restaurants.
Great quiet nook! Norm and Stacey were great hosts (even provided a lovely bowl of fruit for us!). Place is cozy and had everything we needed!
Just what I needed during my short stay in San Francisco. Late working hours made it tough to venture out but there was no problem having dinner delivered.
I see people comment on the ceiling height. I'm 6'1.5'' and I had no problem. If you're 6'3'' and above, you better pay attention.
Great apartment, clean, full facilities as described, comfortable bed, private and just what I needed for the purpose of my travel.
I found the public transportation to be adequate, bus 22 one block away runs every 15 mins from early am to late at night. It takes you to mission, Castro, and Bay districts easily . Or you can take the train 2 blocks away to go to the financial district.
Great coffee shop nearby which is what I needed the most during my stay. A really good brunch place called the Plow one block away.
P.S have to apologise for not greeting the host a couple time when I ran into him, did not recognise him from his profile pic straightaway, ha.
I and my wife have stayed at Norm's apartment for 3 nights. The apartment had quite enough space for us eventhough we had 4 luggages. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was very clean and nice, thanks for the good service. Two things that can be improved: 1. The apartment is cool, especially at night, but the heater in the bedroom is really small and does not really heat up the apartment much. 2. There can be a small hair dryer as for the guests traveling overseas it is hard to carry a dryer.
In addition, we think that the location is convenient only if you plan to rent a car or take a cab, especially if you have a limited time to visit the city, since it is a bit time consuming to get to touristic places or restaurants in the city (e.g. it takes 40 min tram+bus ride for Fisherman's Wharf) by public transportation. We took cab for a few times and thought we should have rented a car.
Overall, it was a nice stay for us in Norm's apartment and we would recommend staying there.
This is a great suggestion. I am ordering a hair dryer for downstairs today.
To car or not to car - that is a San Francisco question. Our metro service leaves a lot to be desired in contrast to other world class cities. And Potrero Hill is not serviced well for sure. Many of our guests have had great success with Uber - a smartphone app that gets you a car fast. I highly recommend this for SF and I have no doubt that it will be available in all major cities soon. If you are just staying in SF, I would recommend skipping the car and using Uber and MUNI. If you are exploring Wine Country or other destinations in the Bay Area, you might want a car.
Thanks again for the suggestions.
