The Space

This fully furnished apartment with one bath is conveniently located in sunny Potrero Hill, just 2 blocks from 18th street shops and restaurants. The unit is on the ground floor, has a private entrance, a fully equipped kitchen, separate living, dining and office areas, bathroom with bathtub, and access to a quaint back yard.

The apartment was built as a convenient spot for grandparents and other relatives to use during their visits. Please note that while the space is usually quiet, the pitter-patter (and occasional thunk!) of our 2 young children can sometimes be heard in the unit in morning and evening hours.

Note: our apartment has lower than usual ceilings. If you are 6'2" or under, there should be no issue.
Non smokers only, no pets.

Interaction with Guests

We live upstairs. The house was built in the late 1800's - you will hear us. With your own private entrance, you have your own space. Should you need anything, we are there. If you don't, you have your privacy.

The Neighborhood

About the Potrero Hill District

Potrero Hill is one of those wonderful, undiscovered neighborhoods in our iconic city. Relatively quiet and laid back, the residential streets are unusually clean (for San Francisco ; ), and every house seems to have a small garden, flower box or tree planted out front.

Potrero Hill also boasts some of the best weather in the bay area. On the Hill, you can relax in brilliant sunshine while watching fog engulf the rest of the city. The sunny weather lends itself to another of the Hill's main attractions: the view. Many streets in Potrero offer breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the bay.

Lastly, although Potrero is probably best described as "residential", recent development activities along the waterfront have ushered in a host of new restaurants and shops along the 18th Street corridor (2 blocks away) and in the nearby Dogpatch neighborhood (6 blocks away).

Getting around

If you're looking to explore other parts of the city, the unit is just a 5 minute drive to downtown and is 2-3 blocks from major MUNI bus and train lines (Bus lines 22 and 10 are both within 3 blocks; the Third Street "T" line is less than a 10 minute walk; The 22nd Street Caltrain stop to other points on the Peninsula and San Jose is 2 blocks away). There's also easy access to Interstates 101 and 280 and hassle free street parking.

  • We had an incredible time in this neighborhood and this apartment. We were impressed by the Potrero Hill/Dogpatch neighborhood. It is a friendly area with just enough hills to walk off the amazing food! We enjoyed a delicious brunch at Plow, and not far from there are other great restaurants, shops, bars, and coffee. The apartment is the perfect size for two people, and a short walk away from public transportation. We loved the owners' decorating sense and style, which made us feel even more at home. The owners were very easy to communicate with, and they even provided helpful notes and books about the SF area throughout the apartment. We would absolutely stay here again!

  • We had a great stay at norm and staceys house. The apartment was clean and we had everything we needed.
It's a 10 min. walk to the munistation down the hill.
If you would ask me whats negative about this airbnb:I would say that inside the apartment there's less daylight because it's on the groundfloor.
    Thank you!

  • I had an incredible experience staying in this Cozy apartment. It is in a great neighborhood; very safe, residential, with plenty of great restaurants and cute shops nearby. It was very easy to get to surrounding areas by using Uber, a transportation system recommended by Stacey. The apartment exceeded my expectations; it was very cozy, clean, and spacious. Norm and Stacey were great hosts, providing many recommendations for things to do and see in the city and very helpful throughout our time in San Francisco. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting San Francisco.

  • Great communication, great location, ease of arrival and departure. Perfect experience. Definitely stay in the apartment again.

"I'd say my favourite part of the stay was walking out in the morning and seeing great views of the city all around from the top of the hill" I second that.

  • My Mom and brother stayed here on a recent visit to SF. They really liked the apartment. Plenty of space and great location!

  • The apartment is great. It was a little smaller than expected, but was still great and very comfortable. The ceilings are low, but that wasn't an issue for me. Stacey was super friendly and easy to work with, but I'm assuming Norm is great as well. I'd definitely stay in the apartment again if its available.

We spend a lot of time with our family and friends in San Francisco. Norm is an avid painter and Stacey enjoys working on school and community projects. We love hosting people from out of the area. It is a great geography lesson for our kids. As big and diverse as San Francisco is, they learn that there is a whole wide world of people out there.
