2nd Fl Bklyn Brownstone - LOVELY!

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Hawthorne St, Brooklyn, NY 11225, United States

The Space

Come stay in our glorious parlor level (2nd floor) brownstone apartment - high ceilings, stained glass windows, lots of lovely sunlight and a few short blocks to Prospect Park. Prospect Lefferts Gardens is a gorgeous Brooklyn neighborhood rich with history, greenery, and diversity.

The bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, air conditioner and 3 large windows that let in copious amounts of sunlight. The bathroom has a claw-foot tub, which is perfect for a hot bath after a long day of traversing the city streets.

The dining and living rooms are spacious and warm. A large maple table, big comfy couch, multiple seating options, flat screen television, and unique and funky feel accommodate the many needs of all guests.

The kitchen is fully-equipped with a dishwasher, gas stove and oven, typical kitchen amenities, and oodles of cook books. It's a delightful place to whip up something tasty.

The apartment is quiet, private, LARGE and has an European-style washer/dryer. The internet is super user friendly! A sweet little neighbor cat sometimes visits, but does not live in the apartment and can be kept out if necessary.

We're off the Q express line and the B train, both of which are great trains. The Q gets you to lower Manhattan in 30 minutes or less and stops at most major stations. The B takes you along the lower east side and then up the west side.

The neighborhood is charming and safe. There's a yummy Caribbean bakery on the corner, a lovely wine shop one block away, delis galore, and a few great restaurants (take out and sit down) in the area. Prospect Park is 4 blocks away, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Brooklyn Museum are a short bus ride away or an enjoyable stroll through the park, and a wonderful farmer's market takes place every Saturday at Grand Army Plaza.

We consider ourselves great hosts - we're a dancer/choreographer couple originally from the Midwest and transplanted to NYC to pursue our careers. We place a lot of emphasis and devotion in the upkeep and quality of our home. We keep a clean, organized and warm home and would love to invite you to stay here!

It's ideal for a couple, but can absolutely house two friends who don't mind sharing a bed or more if sleeping on a comfortable couch suits you. We'll be sure to leave ample information about the house, the neighborhood, and the city. Oh, and we'd ask that you lovingly take care of our cherished plants. We hope to hear from you soon!

  • Alex & Xan's place was perfect. Very clean, roomy and cozy. It was the perfect outpost for out time in Brooklyn. Convenient to trains into the city, close to a wine shop and natural market/coffee shop. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and they left breakfast items for us! We would love to make this a regular rental when we find ourselves in NY!

  • Alex and Xan were great hosts. This was our first time using air bnb, so we were unsure of what to expect. We could not have been more impressed. Their beautiful apartment felt like a true home away from home. We appreciated all the little touches such as a few breakfast treats left for us. Plus it's in a great location. Next time we swing by NY this is certainly where we'll try to stay.

  • Would recommend in a second. They were wonderful hosts, and really made us feel welcome. Our stay couldn't have been any better. Perfect location, apartment is exactly as listed, and they were kind enough to leave two weary Canadian travelers some bagels. You guys have a beautiful home!

  • Whew! Our first Airbnb experience couldn't have been with a better apartment or hosts! A&X were very detailed with instructions and provided very useful information about the city we otherwise would have not known. Oh yeah, and how'd you guys know I love bagels?

They allowed us to check in early & had the place nice and clean for us. The home itself is very spacious and comfortable. We tried counting all the elephant decorations they had, but our stay there was only 2 days(ha!).Wonderfully decorated and well kept. Close to the subway and markets, liquor stores, etc.

All in all, great experience and highly recommended.

  • The apartment is very nice, comfortable, and clean, and the hosts were friendly (via phone and email) and generous; they left us coffee, breakfast food, etc. It's perfect for a couple, but if there's a third person, then they'll need to walk through your bedroom to get to the bathroom, kitchen, and out of the door, which could be problematic for some. It's perfect for a couple and everything you'll need is there.

  • We had an exceptional stay in Alex and Xan's beautiful Brooklyn apartment. The decor was warm, inviting and comfortable. The place was spacious and clean. The neighborhood was also amazing to discover with great cafes and delicious eats.
Also we were happy to find the binder in the kitchen with clear instructions on basic rules of the living space as well as tips on the area. Our absolute favourite part of our stay was the adorable and friendly cat who would scratch on the apartment door and then come in to say hi. What a cutie!
We would definitely stay at Alex and Xan's place again as it was our first Air BnB experience and it went beyond our expectations.

  • Alex and Xan were great hosts sharing their beautiful apartment with us for the past 5 days in New York. We had a great time and we will definitely come back and stay with them again.

  • We loved our stay at Alex and Xan's apartment -- the main part, living room-dining room-bedroom, is quite large and beautifully furnished. There's a nice little kitchen and a tiny bathroom that are quite functional. The location is excellent because it's so close to Prospect Park and the main subway line. We'll be back!
