*We have an open and friendly community here in this apartment building. We keep our doors open most of the time, and friends may pop in and out, especially when I'm working from home. If you're not comfortable with leaving your room open while you're out for the day, so that I may have access to the balcony, then maybe this isn't the place for you. If you're open and fun and social, then this is definitely the place for you!*
I'm renting my 2nd bedroom centrally located in Sugar Hill, Harlem, Manhattan. I've listed all of the amenities below, if you have any questions feel free to message me anytime and I will respond as soon as possible.
I am also a seasoned traveler and want to make your stay in NYC as enjoyable as possible. I'm willing to help you figure out places to go and things to see and eat. I will have the room all set up with towels and sheets so the only thing you need to figure out is what to do with your day!
My downstairs neighbor and one of my best friends, Ariel, is also an AirBNB host. He is a fully trained yoga instructor and incredible cook, specializing in Ayurvedic and Spanish cuisines. He offers yoga classes and gourmet meals at reasonable prices, both of which his guests rave about, so be sure to ask about them.
The bedroom is completely sunlit all day with one extra large window and French doors that lead to the balcony. You will have complete privacy, with your own private entrance, and plenty of space - the room itself is 16 feet by 11 feet, in addition to a huge double wide closet. The room is fully furnished with brand new queen size bed, night stand, 2 floor lamps, large bookshelf, table and 2 chairs, large dresser, large closet, alarm clock, super comfy loveseat, and clean sheets and towels to use for your stay.
As you can see in the pictures, there is plenty of light in the rest of the apartment. There is a full sized kitchen and a recently renovated bathroom, both of which feature skylights (there are 4 in the apartment).
Centrally located on W 150th Street, near a smorgasbord of restaurants, Riverbank State Park several blocks to the West, and plenty of shopping. There's a great new watering hole, Harlem Public, and a wonderful new Italian restaurant, Tonelli, within a 2 minute walk. There are also several restaurants that feature cheap and delicious food, some of them with delivery. My favorites are the Jamaican place and the Mexican taqueria around the corner.
The apartment is a 5-10 minute walk to the A, B, C and D trains, the A and D being express during rush hours, and a 5-10 minute walk to the 1 train. Getting to anyplace in Manhattan or Brooklyn is very convenient - 15 minutes to Columbia University, 20 minutes to Midtown, 30 minutes to Lower East Side, 30 minutes to Williamsburg.
There are also a number of buses nearby, including the M35 which takes you down along Central Park all the way to Grand Central Station, and the M100 and M101 which easily get you to the East side.

It was a really nice stay. I stayed there for 9 days because I needed to find a room for the next six months in Manhatten. He even let me stay one day longer when I had some problems with finding the right room in time. Super nice and easy going experience!
I can really recommend this place. You feel safe and it's not far from public transport.
Jed was great. He gave us our space but was also there to answer any questions I had. My boyfriend and I would absolutely stay there again.
Jed (and brother Matthew) were on the spot to help with luggage up two flights of stairs. Top floor flat was light-filled, spotlessly clean and cozily warm despite record-breaking cold. Our room was perfect with ample floor and drawer space, inviting access to back deck, comfy love seat and queen bed, as well as small table with three chairs. (Only downside: bring your own salt for icy front stoop with no safe handholds if you visit in winter.) All in all, Jed's place was a great launching pad for our wonderful NYC week! Thank you brothers and we hope to be there again.
Great Host and Great Room not that far from Downtown.
Thanks, Jed for your hospitality. We only wished we could have met you. The room was great with easy access to the NYC sites. Jed was quick to respond to all of my questions as well.
What can i say...great great great.
We enjoyed the days in jeds appartement.
Stress-free, relaxed...again any time!
I loved Jed's place...it's very comfortable and artistic. The area is nice and easy to commute. Jed is courteous and nice, offered to help us get around Town. Overall, great place to stay.
A stay at Jed's during a cold winter in New York was nice and warm! Location was extremely convenient, and Jed was a great host. Couldn't imagine a better stay in New York. Thanks!
I had a great time staying with Jed in New York, he lives in a nice area of Harlem and everything doesnt seem too far away! The room was big and had plenty of room for two! The apartment was kept clean and Jed has an impressive collection of beer bottles! The other residents in the building were also friendly and good natured. So all in all no complaints and exceeded my expectations, thanks Jed!!!
This was my first airbnb experience and not my last! Jed was the perfect host and I highly recommend him and hismplace.
