Spacious, central, clean and quiet

Apartment - Private room · Kenwood Ln, Charlottesville, VA 22901, United States

The Space

Very large, private basement apartment with kitchenette (microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, sink, full size frig) and a full bath in the center of artsy and historic Charlottesville. 40 minute safe walk to the Downtown Mall if you're in the mood for exercise. Easy driving to everything and a bus stop nearby. Great neighborhood - lots of sidewalks for walking, quiet, yet centrally located in the city. Off street parking.

Room includes a Queen bed, a Twin bed and a potentially sleepable couch, so there is space for 1-2 more people for an extra charge.

Guests will need to walk through one hallway of the main house to get to the apartment and other than that, you have great privacy. Laundry and upstairs oven privileges potentially available.

Free WiFi, though we do not have cable TV.

I work from home as a designer and am readily available to help with directions and ideas of things to do in the area.

Because it is a basement apartment it tends to stay cool - excellent in the summer, but if you like things really warm, you may need a sweater in the winter.

Currently we do not charge a cleaning fee for guests in hopes that everyone will leave the room as they found it. For longer term renters (5+ days), we can discuss cleaning options beforehand - either a deposit of $10/week provided up front that I hold onto in good faith for a clean space at the end of the rental term, or a fee of $15 for a provided weekly cleaning. This keeps the price lower for everyone, and allows for the room to also stay as clean as possible. Thank you!

  • My wife and I stayed at Cindy's for a night. Very hospitable hostess. Very nice space too - much larger than I had expected and very comfortable. Would highly recommend to others.

  • Cindy's apartment is very clean and private. The perfect spot to come back to after a day of wine tasting and shopping. She was such a sweet hostess: providing breakfast and beverages. She cheerfully gave recommendations for restaurants and local hot spots. Highly recommend ;-)

  • Cindy was a great host. She was friendly, helpful, and extremely welcoming. The room was very spacious and extremely clean. She gave me tips on driving through Charlottesville and things to see which was great. Offered to go grab food for me in the morning if I wanted it which I really appreciated.

  • Cindy was wonderful host, for breakfast she left us surprise bagels and banana. It was great pleasure to walk to downtown. We did not have to worry about parking. Charlottesville is wonderful town and I fell in love with it. Cats were beautiful and friendly, one of them was willing to come with us to NJ :-) Thank you from having us ! Good Luck with everything.

  • Cindy was very welcoming. She gave us some fantastic restaurant recommendations and local knowlege on sights we really enjoyed. The basement apartment has a kitchenette which was great for making our own breakfasts and for storing produce and frozen items we picked up during our travels. This was a great base for our exploration of C'ville and Staunton.

  • The place was ready for us when we got there. Affordable and clean. Close to downtown( about 3 miles or so) which was a $15 cab ride. Totally worth staying out of the city for much cheaper!!!!

I'm a mom with two friendly teenage boys and several cats. I own my own business, CatStone Press, a graphic design company specializing in digital publishing and I work out of my home office. I love travel and food and we enjoy having people around. The house tends to stay relatively quiet.
