Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • It is a beautiful house owned by a beautiful person, by that I mean charming, welcoming, trusting, opened to different views. Anna is very kind and I felt at home when I arrived. I recommend the place for any visitors that are in Toronto for the weekend, although the nightlife scenes are far from the beaches (don't worry there is the metro).

  • Anna is very hospitable and does everything to make you feel at home and welcomed. The room is big and comfortable and the bathroom is a 5 stars, newly decorated and very comfortable.
The neighborhood is very quiet though close to a main street where one can find coffee shops and restaurants.
I had a great time there.
    Thanks a lot, Anna!

  • We stayed for 3days. The room is very clean and comfortable.
We borrowed bicycle from Anna, we went to the beach. It's easy 15mins.
Anna is very friendly, helpful and kind.

  • For my review of Anna’s house, I will be responding directly to the claims she has made in her review of me.

First of all, my girlfriend and I never met Anna. She left for the time of our stay and gave us her bedroom while another pair of guests stayed in the basement. It was this other couple that greeted us upon arrival, handed us the key and showed us around.

With regard to the claim that “Guests kept their shoes in the house”: I asked these other guests as soon as we walked in if we should remove our shoes. They answered in the affirmative and I obliged. Now, I do take responsibility for wearing my shoes on two occasions when walking in from the front door, up the stairs to our room and then from the room back down to the door. I preferred this because the steps in her home were steep and I wanted some traction on the wooden floors, particularly at night. I understand how this might be viewed as a significant transgression of the house rules, and if it is, I apologize profusely; but in no way did we “kept our shoes on” when moving about the house.

As far as the claim that we “drank beers from the fridge,” my girlfriend did ask the other guests on our first night if she could take ONE Cremore beer from the refrigerator. It had been made explicit to us that the beer in the refrigerator belonged to these guests, not Anna. The guests told us it was okay and so we took the one, single beer. Now, we did promise to replace the beer and forgot to do so, for which we are very sorry.

However, it is extremely strange to me that these accusations of disrespectful behavior are being brought about by a host who was not in the house at the time. Not only are the claims inaccurate, but they lead me to understand that it was, in fact, the other guests who were “watching” us and who subsequently reported these accusations to the host. I do not appreciate these guests making false accusations, nor do I appreciate the host taking these false accusations as truth and then reiterating them publicly without substantive evidence.

I will add that the situation with these other guests was strange to begin with. Although Anna told us it would be her “friends” greeting us upon arrival, it was not made clear that these people were, in fact, another couple whom she had also taken on through airbnb. Furthermore, this couple made it immediately clear that they were not “friends” with Anna, but tenants who had met her only a few weeks earlier and had negotiated a month-long stay with her.

I do not wish to “get back” at Anna for a negative review, but her claims are baseless, based on hearsay and incorrect. My impression is that she is an overall dishonest hostess.

    Response from Anna:

  • Anna had a very clean organized home, the room showing was booked but she offered another room that was not private that we did stay in. Nice beaches area.

  • Anna has a beautifully decorated home - we loved the hardwood floors (and tile) throughout and the newly renovated kitchen and bathroom was fantastic. The backyard was a delight and we loved having our morning coffee under the umbrella on the deck. The convertible couch bed was surprisingly comfortable. Some people may need more room, but I found it way more comfortable than many hard beds I've slept on! Because of this and the house being quiet at night - I got good sleeps!

The Beaches area surpassed our expectations. The 15 minute walk to Queen street was enjoyable (taking quiet streets through the neighbourhood). We had no idea the Beaches area existed and couldn't believe we were in Toronto! We loved it and totally enjoyed walking along the boardwalk....what a vibrant feel with everyone strolling, picnicing, sunning, and playing volleyball. At night with the CN tower lit up in the distance, and the moon sparkling on the water - it's quite a sight! We also managed to find three stores to buy organic produce and health products which was very important to us.

Anna made us feel very welcome and made sure that we felt like we could 'make ourselves feel at home.' She truly shared her space with us which we really appreciated. We were in the process of moving to Toronto and she also helped us with a lot of extra things that she didn't have to do (including kind words of encouragement!).

Although we are usually very private - we ended up enjoying meeting some of the other guests that were staying in the house. We ended up making some new friends which was great.

We ended up house-sitting in another province - when we return to Toronto, we would stay with Anna again.

    Thank you Anna!

  • The stay was ok, clean home, The host was very nice and her daughters were very cute. It suited our needs for the time we were there. The beaches were close by which was wonderful. The only negatives were the futon bed was uncomfortable for me and if you have a car you may have trouble finding parking.

  • It's a very nice house in a beautiful area. The room is very spacious and the house is very clean and well maintained.
There is also a garden and a terrace in the back to chill out.
Anna cares about her guest and she made me feel very welcomed!
Great area, great house, great host! 100 percent!!

  • Anna is a lovely host - friendly and very accommodating. She even dropped us to the train station when it was raining! And her two daughters are very sweet and polite.

The downstairs area where you sleep is very spacious, with its own private bathroom (amazing shower!) The only negative is that the futon bed is a bit tight for two people, as it's not the size of a full double bed I don't think.

  • Maison agréable, tenue par Anna, très agréable et accueillante.
La maison est proche des plages, qui valent vraiment le détour...
Le centre est un peu plus éloigné mais en 20 min avec le street car, on y est.
