This is my first time booking with airbnb and thanks to Aurélie, the house owner, me and my two colleagues had a comfortable stay in Paris. We didn’t have the change to meet Aurélie at check-in nor at check out. Instead, we met her friend, Stephane, who gave us a nice welcome at check-in and her brother and mom, who wished us for the best at check-out. Aurélie is a very responsible house owner. She kindly answered all our questions before our trip.
If you’re about to make a reservation, here are some facts that might be in help.
House conditions >>
The house looks exactly like the photos. Pretty clean! Both the bed and the sofa bed are comfortable. The space is just enough for 3 of us because we come on a business trip and we all have large-piece luggages. Elevator is small but very convenient. Kitchen is equipped with all we needed for making meals. It’s very kind of Aurélie that she let us use basic spices/sauces. A bit noise at night, but it didn’t bother us at all.
1 minute walk to station Château Rough on Metro Line 4. Just 2 stations away from the mega transfer staion Gare du Nord which connected to REB B to CDG airport. There’s an upward escalator in Château Rough. (Note: No downward escalator or elevator.)
The area Château Rough is known as “Little Africa of Paris.” Your comfort level will have to depend on your knowledge and your perception of the African race. The beautiful Montmartre and Sacre Coeur is just near by. Definitely a big plus for fabric lovers because a big textile market is only a few steps away from Sacre Coeur. There is a small traditional market just next to the Château Rough station. A big Carrefour supermarket in 5 minutes walk.
We enjoyed a lovely stay in Aurélie's apartment.
Unfortunately, we did not get to meet Aurélie, because our arrival time was very late in the evening, but Aurélie organised everything so that we could get into the apartment without a problem.
At our arrival, we found everything as described and soon felt at home in Paris.
The neighbourhood is quite busy, with Sacre Coeur, nice restaurants, and supermarkets in walking distance. It is well connected to the city centre by bus and metro and we visited a lot of places during the 4 days, always happy to return to the apartment in the evening to recharge for the next day.
Aurelie's apartment was lovely, it had all the necessities and felt like a cozy little home. I would definitely recommend this as a great base for exploring Paris. It is very close to the metro stations and a short walk to the beautiful/fun Montmartre area and Sacre Coeur. A little bit dodgy on the street outside at night but we had no problems. Also close to supermarkets and patisseries, great for an authentic Paris experience. I hope other people enjoy staying here as much as we did.
I visited paris with my family and we were 4 persons (2 adults, 2 kids). The appartment was cute and big enough for 4 persons. The appartment was clean and we found all we needed. In few minutes we were in sacre coeur and very close to the line 4 metro. We had a fantastic time in paris.
We met Aurélie for a short time. She was very friendly to explain all with the appartment, find the metro or to find sight seeing. I think it would be not the last time to visit paris and we will come back in Aurèlies appartment. Thank you Aurèlie!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Aurelie's over the Easter weekend and had a fantastic time. Her apartment was lovely and cute and very clean. It was very very easy to get to from the Eurostar stop at Gare du Nord (2 metro stops), and easy to get around Paris from also. Very close to Montmartre, Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge etc, and close by to some very cute restaurants. The street itself seemed to be possibly slightly dodgy, although I felt safe (my boyfriend was more worried than I was) - it is only a few streets away from a very lovely area. All in all was a fantastic stay in Paris and would definitely visit Aurelies again in the future!
