This comfortable house in the woods has an open floor plan with a great kitchen. There are 3 bedrooms with a king, queen and futon couch beds. In winter you will enjoy a wood fire and the summers, well its California wine country!
Easy access off a paved country road, the house has been carefully renovated to provide an open space while retaining the charm of the original one room schoolhouse build in 1916.
Centrally located in Northern California near the Napa Wine Country and 7 miles to the nearest town of Vacaville. Historic Winters is 25 miles away and Lake Berryessa is nearby for boating enthusiasts. Lake Solano is just a 10 minute drive where you can picnic, swim and go rowing.
Some cell phone coverage is not reliable so I provide a land line for your use as well as wi-fi.
The surrounding area is a nature preserve with access to the creek that runs through the property, as well as a tree house meditation deck and plenty of extra parking for your guests.

Eleanor was so helpful and told us to call if we had any questions at all. We loved the place with plenty of blankets and firewood to stay warm, comfy beds, and a fantastic kitchen. We had a wonderful time.
This was the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and just completely unplug. The creek nearby was fun to explore, and the tree deck was a fun little spot to relax.
We loved our stay at the Mix Canyon Retreat. Eleanor was very welcome and made us feel right at home. This house is a cozy getaway in the mountains with a running creek that you can hear in every room in the house. It feels safe and has all the amenities that we needed! We will definitely stay here again!
Mix Canyon Retreat is a really great spot to take a break from a nearby city and enjoy the tranquility of nature. (This being fall, we enjoyed the soundtrack of the nearby running creek. ) Eleanor's house had all we wanted and was thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed--from ample firewood to keep the wood stove going to kitchenstuffs galore. A favorite feature was all the different sitting spaces: an outdoor deck, a footbridge, a treetop meditation (email hidden)'s also quite a sizable space given that it started out as a one-room schoolhouse. (It had plenty of space for the 3 of us and could easily accommodate 6-8.) Congrats on such a terrific transformation. Thanks, and we would definitely return.
Our host greeted us at the house and had the wood burning stove fired up. She was very welcoming and was there for any questions. She was also flexible with our schedule.

I surprise myself when looking back and reviewing how I came to be a host to so many wonderful travelers here in the woods. I started small and over the years continue to develop and expand my offering. I love nature and the restorative quality it offers in our busy complicated lives.
