The Austen Library Suite is a favorite just redone. We replaced this canopy bed with a king size bed!
The Bashford Manor was very pleasant and the grounds were well taken care of and relaxing. The room was well decorated, cozy and had all necessary amenities. We stayed in the Austen suite. The bathtub was uncomfortably small but we were allowed to use another shower, as we were there for a longer period of time. Cynthia was very kind and engaging, has a great knowlege of the area and was gracious enough to let us use her kitchen and play her piano. Thanks Cynthia!
Cynthias bed and breakfast was wonderfully decorated and had very spacious rooms. The guests were an absolute treat we made friends with a couple who were visiting their son and it was simply wonderful. We did have an issue when we arrived though, we had to wait outside in the snow for quite sometime until one of the guests returned so we can be let into the facility. There were just a bit of misunderstandings that set the tone of to a shaky start. We were a large group so to one of the guests we were a bit of a disturbance we had to be SUPER SUPER quiet after 10 cause we had an older man constantly knocking and complaining. We ARE from NY so im sure our level of noise is not something people from this area are used to. We also were accused of stealing someones pants which was absurd because we all over packed for our stay thee and quite frankly i doubt anyone of our party had the same taste as whoevers pants were stolen. Aside from that the house itself was magnificent it had alot of historical facts that made it an honor to stay there. I wouldnt recommend this place to larger crowds or people who are not usually in bed by 10 aside from that couples and singular travelers should feel right at home here.
The Bashford Manor was a treat!! The Inn is lovely and beautifully appointed as well as a Historical treatsure. Cynthia was an engaging and lovely host serving us a gorgeous breakfast in her beautiful dining room.
Another surprise was the camaraderie to be found with the other guests in who joined us at breakfast. We had a lovely conversation with the other travels and it really brightened the day.
I will definitely stay with Cynthia the next time I head to Louisville!!!
