  • We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Julie's fantastic flat in Rome. The building is in a great location right in the heart of the Trastevere area, which is full of lovely bars, restaurants and offers a real taste of the Italian way of life. Julie provided us with some lovely recommendations and was a real help before and during our stay via email (she also left us with a mobile phone to use to contact her mother or friend in case of an emergency!).

All in all a great place to stay, the flat is clean and offers everything you could need. I will certainly recommend this to family and friends and will stay again if/when we return to Rome.

  • We didn't meet Julie in person, but everything was perfectly organized. The taxi driver who picked us up from the airport had the key to the apartment.
The apartment was very nice en the location perfect! It really was only half an hour walk to Vatican or just walk across the river up to the main attractions, while in the neighborhood were very nice local restaurants. We loved it!

  • Everything went just as expected, the apartment is in a beautiful neighbourhood and very quiet at night. We visited everything by foot since location was convenient, and had access to an array of restaurants. I would certainly recommend Julia's place to anyone!

  • Julie was an excellent host. We highly recommend booking through her and staying at her place in Trastevere. She was very prompt with any questions we had and her place had everything we were looking for. It was exactly how it was described in the listing and there were no surprises.

Thank you Julie for making our stay very enjoyable.

  • Perfect accomodation in Rome - quiet, within walking of everything important and in an area that looks like Italy in the movies...

We enjoyed staying here for a week and can definitely recommend it.

  • Julia's apartment is in a wonderful location in Trastevere: charming, narrow, cobbled streets, lots of restaurants, and within walking distance of many attractions. We walked to the Vatican, Palatine Hill and Coliseum, major piazzas etc. Yet the apartment is on an inner courtyard and very quiet. It's beautifully decorated and has a modern kitchenette and bathroom. The bed is a queen and softer than the other hard beds we encountered in Italy. Julia was a great host, and provided lots of tips for walks, restaurants etc. She recommended Enzo's just steps away, and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Reservations are essential; it's tiny and very popular. Julia's friend Sarah greeted us warmly and also booked us a taxi for our return to the airport.

  • My son and I stayed in Julie's apartment and it was terrific. Julies mother met us who was delightful and offered ample assistance with anything we needed . We did not cook but everything we required was there and all worked fine. Loved the area and having Da Enzo restaurant at the end of the street was fantastic. Love Rome and loved Trastevere
    Would definately recommend this place.

My international background and education luckily led to the creation of unusual bonds with people from all over the globe. For this, I was often granted the outstanding opportunity to "feel home away from home" and - just like Miss Gilbert - traveling soon turned out to be "the great true love of my life..." When I travel, I want to go beyond the hotel chains or standard guidebooks. I want to feel what the internet is unable to transmit. For a few days, I want to read the reality of a city and its inhabitants; live how they live, go where they go, eat what they eat, drink what they drink...To me, that is what adds meaning to traveling, thus it is the meaning I like to add to those who travel!
