Escape to this cozy apartment. Walk to the peaceful river/bay beaches and boardwalk in the quaint shore town of Ocean Gate. Also walk to hiking trails, 2 restaurants and a market! Easy drive to a number of other Jersey Shore Beaches as well.
***New for Summer of 2015***
**For June, July, and August, the apartment will be available on a weekly basis (7 nights), checking in Sunday, checking out Sunday.**
This is a private apartment in a detached garage in my backyard. It's on a quiet dirt road that backs to conservation land.
Accommodates as many as 6 (which would be tight) with 2 on queen, 2 on full, 1 on twin and 1 on couch.
**PLEASE excuse the backyard, it is under construction! I'm in the process of redesigning the backyard to include a fence, outdoor living area, kitchen, bar, hot tub, expanded deck and patio, pond, etc. Please excuse the view while a new outdoor oasis is being created for myself and my Airbnb guests!**
On the first floor is a full kitchen with range, oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, etc. There is also a custom made granite tile breakfast bar and a half bathroom on this floor.
On the second floor there is one large room with 3 beds (1 Queen, 1 Full, and 1 Twin) a couch and chairs, cable TV, DVD/BluRay player, air conditioning, and a bathroom with shower.
Cable TV includes HBO, Showtime, Starz, and Cinemax. ON-Demand TV and movie programming.
Interaction with Guests
I live in the house in the front of the property. I do work alot and go away on weekends, but do also spend a lot of time working around the house. So you may see me, and I would love to meet you! At the same time I am very respectful of your privacy and will not bother you. Though I'm always available to help if you need something!
Less than a 5 minute walk to bay beach and boardwalk in quaint town of Ocean Gate.
Twenty minute drive to the ocean (Island Beach State Park, Seaside Park, Seaside Heights, Ortley Beach, Lavalette, etc.)
Bring your boat! There is plenty of room in the backyard for your boat and trailer, and 3 ramps less than a mile away. You can get to the barrier island much quicker by boat (5 minutes on the boat vs 20 minutes driving).
Two great restaurants less than a mile away:
Water's Edge - WATERFRONT! Right on the Barnegat Bay, huge outdoor deck, arrive by boat, bike, or by car, live music daily in the summer, good bar food outside, and excellent fine dining inside.
Anchor Inn - WALKABLE! Awesome little place with great thin crust bar pies, and plenty of other good food. A Bar/Restaurant with character.
Yolanda's Riverhouse - WALKABLE - Decent place for a bite!
Toms River Park and Ride bus station is a 7 minute drive.
**** EASY COMMUTE FROM NYC ****
From Port Authority in NYC, simply hop on NJ Transit bus 319 or 137 for a nonstop, direct trip to Toms River Park and Ride in about an hour and 35 minutes for less than $20. Cabs are there waiting for a 10 minute drive to the apartment.
NO SMOKING IN THE APARTMENT!
I only hope that the apartment is left in the same (or better :)) condition as it was found. I don't mind people having a good time, but treat the place as if it were your own! Thanks!
This was a wonderful place to stay, perfect for our family. It was what we expected from the description and very clean and cozy. We hope to return. Thanks, Keith!
Keith was a great host! The listing was 100% accurate and in a great location! Everything was wonderful and I would highly recommend Keith's place! Hopefully I can get back when it's warm outside!
We needed accommodations on short notice. Keith communicated immediately so that we had that detail of our trip covered. Everything we needed was in place. Before we left we did go by the beach which is within easy walking distance. Keith was an attentive host but we still had our privacy. The apartment would be great for a beach vacation.
Keith's space was perfect! He was a great host. We met him upon arriving, and gave us a lovely tour of the rental. He left us alone for our stay, but we felt comfortable that he would help us with anything we needed during our trip. I would definitely love to stay at Keith's again!
Keith is the best host you could wish for. Helpful, considerate and easygoing. His place is exactly as described and depicted at Airbnb. The neighborhood is really quiet and it's only a few minutes walk to a beautiful New Jersey beach with Boardwalk. I would stay at his place anytime again.
I was heading up the east coast during one of the worst Nor'easters in a long time. It was a long drive but when I arrived (later than communicated/anticipated) Keith was there and had everything set up for me. His apartment is super comfortable and very cozy which was perfect for the weather that blew through that night and the next day. The location was close to anything you'd need and when the electricity went out due to the storm, Keith was quick to offer alternatives for me to sit down and get some work done (freelance, so I work anywhere and everywhere). In short, the apartment was great, the location somewhat central, and Keith's hospitality was second to none. Would love to return!
Keith's place was great. Only issue was arriving after dark, there are no address numbers on the mailbox that I could find to identify which house is his. It was a shot in the dark as to which driveway to turn down. But I guessed correctly and all went well. I would recommend Keith's place to anyone.
From the East Coast of the United States. I enjoy many outdoor activities, traveling, meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
