Ardormie Farm Cottage

House - Entire home/apt · Alyth, PH11 8HL, United Kingdom

The Space

A cottage in the countryside with wide open views. Ardormie Farm Cottage is cosy in the winter and has a great little patio for sitting outside in the summer. Everything you need is right here; a double bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower overhead, cosy sitting/dining room and a little kitchen fully equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave and all you need to make your stay just perfect.

We have just installed a new biomass boiler so the heating is provided from an entirely renewable energy source. Radiators have been fitted throughout and there is a thermostatic temperature control so you can set the temperature to suit. There is a washer/drier and outside in the steading the wood pellet boiler is heating a drying room which you are welcome to use for any wet outdoor gear.

The cottage is on a working farm. My neighbours breed and train sheep dogs, it's fascinating to watch them at work. The surrounding countryside is what you would expect of rural Perthshire - mountains, lochs, stunning views, rich history, peace and quiet. This is a great place to be based as there is much to explore.

The place is yours to enjoy. I live next door and I'm really happy to help with any questions you may have, there is also lots of local information available in the cottage. Although, sometimes I'm not at home, maybe I'm off staying in an airbnb somewhere else!

  • We had an absolutely fabulous time at Ardormie. The cottage is cosy but spacious, and we felt right at home.

Right on the edge of the Cateran trail it is perfect for walks, short or long followed by cosying up for the evening. Highly recommended and is even more lovely than in the pictures.

  • My husband and myself had a wonderful stay at Ardormie Farm Cottage. The cottage itself is extremely well appointed with modern facilities, fantastic heating and thoughtful extras (like a good hairdryer) which make all the difference to a stay.

Jill was a great host, very quick to respond to any correspondence and we would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to anyone else.

  • We had an amazing stay at the cottage. The cottage itself is extremely cosy with everything you need.

Jill has instructions for everything and is at hand if you need further help or advice.

The setting is idyllic and close to really interesting places.

Wished we could have stayed longer!

  • We've just returned from an absolutely lovely stay at Jill's cottage and are already planning our return! The cottage is warm and cosy, as a fancy new (and very effective!) heating system has just been installed. The kitchen is well appointed and the flat is tastefully decorated for a calm, relaxing stay in beautiful countryside. Jill's directions will see you to the front door without any trouble - even in the dark of night. The garden looks out over lovely hills, and the windows make the most of the sunshine - look forward to waking up to birdsong! The intimate setting may be best for couples without children, and the approach is easiest if you are driving. If you get the chance to stay in this area, don't pass it up! The town of Pitlochry is surprisingly delightful, and the Drover's Inn offers a wonderful dinner, both in the area.

  • Jill's cottage is simply amazing. It's the ideal place if you want to relax in the country. Well equipped, and surrounded by fields, mountains and sheep :-)

When we arrived, it was clean and tidy. There was a document filled with useful information about the cottage itself and the things to do in the area.

We didn't have the occasion to talk with Jill a lot, but she was friendly and welcoming, and seemed a very good person.
She answered quickly to emails, and to any question we might have.

I definitely recommend Jill's cottage and would go back there anytime!

  • We had a great stay here, just a shame we couldn't stay longer!
The surroundings are really beautiful - it's great to wake up, open the curtain and see such a beautiful view. Some great walks right on the doorstep too - we even saw some wild boar at one point.
The cottage is great also - lots of room, all mod cons etc.
I'd recommend this place highly for anyone wanting to get away for a peaceful weekend in some beautiful countryside.

  • Great lovely and beautiful place. Very close to the national Park, perfect to travel to the North, West and East. We enjoyed it a lot!

  • A really nice cottage with amazing views of the surrounding fields from the back garden. Was such a peaceful setting and Jill's neighbours were very friendly.
The cottage itself was clean and tidy and we felt at home straight away. Jill had left us very helpful notes around the cottage and booklets with lots of practical information about the heating, water etc. We really enjoyed our time there, but just wished we could have stayed longer!

Hi, I'm Jill. I discovered Airbnb last summer when I visited America with my daughter. We stayed in some lovely places and I decided when I got home that it would be a good idea to list my own self catering cottage with Airbnb. I live in a beautiful place with wide open views. Ardormie is a working farm so be prepared for sheep, dogs, chickens etc. The farm doesn't belong to me but I am lucky to have some friendly neighbours. It's fairly quiet around here which suits me fine. I am however always happy to chat and if you need any information just let me know. As the cottage is self contained and self catering you are free to come and go as you please.
