The Space

The apartment is located in a fantastic and safe area of Napoli, close to the National Archaeological Museum and a few minutes walk away from the famous Via Toledo.

First of all, the flat is in a XVII century building and very secure, in a fashionable building called Palazzo Montemiletto.

The flat is on the first floor (which is a second floor to North Americans!) with lift/elevator. The private apartment consists in one bedroom, a living room with a sofa-bed and a kitchen corner, a bathroom (with shower and a washing machine), and a terrace with a little garden (the garden is shared with my close flat).

In the apartment you can find and use the washing machine, TV+ DVD (with a large DVD seletion), radio + CD player, speed W-FI / internet in flat and terrace/garden!

All around there are many shops, markets, one resturant and 2 pizzeria.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Davide's apartment for 7 nights. Although we never met Davide he gave good directions to the apartment and we collected the keys easily. He also replied quickly to all messages we sent him during the stay. We loved the apartment, it was everything we wanted. It felt like a retreat after days in busy Naples. We found it to be quiet and relaxing. However, I feel I should point out that, unless you want to walk the long route everywhere, the walk to the main sites of the city involve a steep walk back with steps. We generally found this fine (a bit of a struggle after a big meal maybe) but agreed that older people and children might not cope very well with it. The roof terrace is fantastic, we spent most mornings outside with breakfast and books (there is also a very cute cat that visited daily!). The one improvement I would say the apartment needs is a stronger wi-fi signal but we coped fine. We would definitely stay again if we returned to Naples!

  • Gave a real feel of what it is like to live in Naples. We shopped for food in area markets and cooked great meals .We even used the lemons and oranges growing in the garden! Don't be afraid to look around in the cabinets, you will find everything you need to make full meals. Once you figure out Naples, you'll realize how convenient the location is.

  • We had a great time in Napoli, not at least because Davide's apartment was really nice and had everything what was promised. It's in a very good area and not far from the center.
    It gave us the right calm to relax from the busy streets around.

  • Davide is an excellent host and the apartment is fine. It's well located and within easy access to the centre of Naples by tube or "funicolare". However, be ready to take a steep ten-minute walk from the centre if you don't want to use public transport (the way downhill is much more exciting, though) Also it's just a few stops from Garibaldi train station. Though the kitchen is small there's plenty of kitchenware for you to cook easy dishes while you're staying there. The apartment is part of an old building but it's clean and comfortable. Heating works nicely, which was a real positive aspect after the cold wet days we spent during Xmas holidays.

  • Davide warmly welcomed us, the apartment seems to have been inhabited, it feels like visiting friends or family. All necessary equipment is available, nothing is missing. Deumeure old charm with its garden, its citron and mandarin who gave us our daily dose of vitamin C (late November). Davide is available, we stay in contact by sms, and have always had a very quick response.
    In short, a place of peace after long days of ballads. We highly recommend!

  • This apartment is really quiet. You can sleep here in perfect silence, and the location is excellent, near the "funicolare" and the subway; or you can reach the center by walking only ten minutes. A nice little garden on the terrace makes your eyes rest.
    Moreover, you will find a lot of books, touristic guides, maps - more than you ever need!
    Unfortunately there are also many outpoints. We found an unacceptable lack of cleaning (dirty dishes, spider nets here and there, dirty chairs...). The fridge (email hidden) layer of thick ice.
    The bathroom, without windows, has no air-change fan (!!), and in the kitchen there is a leakage in the gas pipe, that should have been changed in 2007 (!!!).
    There's no grounding in the sockets, and if you use a hairdryer or the TV-set this is simply out-security. The sofa-bed is worn-out (as all things here) and the mattress is unpresentable, although
    Davide can bring in a folding single bed with a true mattress.
    Davide is a kind and helping host, and if you need him you just have to ring. But this isn't enough to balance a lot of faults. All in all, this apartment is worth no more than half its current price.

    Purtroppo abbiamo notato molti difetti.

    Response from Davide:

    I am sincerely sorry that your stay was not up to your expectations. I just feel sorry that you have not expressed their dissatisfaction at the moment, but only upon your return via a very detailed/angry feedback.

    I was able to provide solutions together,as far the transfer to another flat in Naples that it was also available at the same period.

    Just to be as accurate:

    - The dirty dishes were left by previous guests and eventually so it is always a good practice to wash them again before use;

    - The cobwebs on the ceiling of more than 4 meters tall, however, they are likely and are not a sign of poor hygienic or dirty. The apartment overlooks the garden and the insects are welcome;

    - The electrical grounding system exists even if the plugs are old;

    - In your mail you presented yourself as a couple with one priority:you needed a quiet place, no special request referring to separated beds. I always recommend the sofa bed for children exclusive use only or for young people, the mattress of a sofa bed can not be compared to that one of a real bed. However, I offered an alternative solution by providing a comfortable single bed;

    - For gas reporting I do appreciate for the observation you made and I will take care for replacement immediately.

  • David is a very kind and welcoming host with a lot of helpful recommendations and arranging tips. He gave us good advice and addresses, maps, tourist guides, etc. The1 bedroom apartment is pretty quiet (we are talking about Napoli, so nowhere is actually 100 % silent!), safe, well arranged and genuinely decorated, which makes it really typical. The neighborhood is ok and the surroundings are pretty convenient with shops, restaurants, a bus stop in front of the building, a funicular station nearby and everything reachable by foot if you feel like walking. The very special Italian atmosphere of the place and the very nice shared wild garden with a lemon tree and a mandarin are absolutely charming. This apartment is a nice base to visit the City and its numerous near local points of interest. David even provided us with extra bed linen for a last-minute friend who decided to join us 2 days after our arrival. Thank you David !

I am a 45 year old native Naples. I'm an architect and I manage houses and villas for holidays in my area. I like taking advantage of all the city has to offer, explores new places in the neighborhood, attending gallery opens, going to museams, concerts, etc. I am laid back, down-to-earth, I love the good food, to travel and to swim. I am very helpful and acccomodating to anyone who visits me from out of town, always happy to give them advice about places to see in the city!|
