I am very very satisfied with the service provided by the staff at "La Casa de la Nona". The breakfast provided was super. The cook would ask how I wanted my eggs done etc. I was served with alot of attention to detail, something I didnt expect.. The night clerk was super. He made sure I made it in and that the that the taxi waited for me etc. The accommodations were very clean. Maid service ..excellent. Day clerk and Gian Carlo made sure I was busy by suggesting the tour and the Malecon Walk. It was a truly wonderful experience. I strongly recommend this bed n breakfast.
My thanks to ALL the staff, your guys were great. Till next time.
The reservation was canceled 99 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Giancarlo and his staff made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked through the security gate. Giancarlo, himself seemed genuinely interested in hearing about my travels and even shared an ancient Incan secret that will remain secret a bit longer:). Thanks Giancarlo for all the assistance. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast so convenient to the jewels of Miraflores.
Giancarlo was very welcoming and was extremely helpful in making great suggestions for what to do during our short stay in Lima, especially where to eat excellent ceviche. His place was clean and with a hot shower. His night person was very helpful in getting us a taxi to the airport in the morning when the first one didn't show up. The neighborhood was quiet, clean and safe. I would stay there again.
Giancarlo was very welcoming. The staff is very friendly. The house has a grand feel to it. It is within walking distance of the cliffs.
I traveled to Peru for a Machu Picchu Inca trek with 14 friends and had needed a place to stay in Lima before and after Cuzco. I found Giancarlo's place to accommodate all of us. He gave us a special deal to book the whole house for both occasions we would stay there. He also had coordinated with setting up two vans to pick us up when we first arrived there from LAX and the second time when we were arriving from Cuzco.
So when we first arrived to the house we were greeted by a person who I first thought was Giancarlo but was actually Pablo. Pablo was very welcoming and showed us the different rooms available. All the rooms were clean, had tvs, electronic fans, and even a mini fridge. The rooms on the first two floors all had their own bathrooms within the room, while the rooms in the third floor did also have their own bathrooms but were in a set of three private stalls by the hallway. Hot water and water pressure was abundant so it was great after a good day walking around.
I really thought the property was great but the best thing about the place is its location. It is a 10-15 minute walk to everything in Miraflores. From Larcomar, to the beach, to Parque Kennedy, to the Indio Market, and even to neighboring town Barranco. Not to mention the place felt very safe to walk around compared to central Lima. As for getting to Central Lima to visit places like Plaza de Armas, Pablo called taxis for us and it was a pretty cheap fare ride to get there.
About the Host, Giancarlo
Energetic, positive, sport minded, great host. Having lived in USA for more than 22 years, I decided one day to give a 180 degrees turn and come back to the place that saw me grow up. Found a great project in this 60+ year old home, remodeled it on my own and decided to show it and open it for everyone to enjoy. This home is by far in the most desirable place to stay in Lima. Within walking distance to EVERYTHING you wish to do in the city. Only two blocks from the Boardwalk and stunning Ocean Views. Best shopping stores, great restaurants, beautiful parks, great cultural life and historical sites, best cafe's,bars, lounges and clubs, ...all within walking distance!! only 8 rooms available for rent, all of them with private baths. Breakfast is included with room price.
