I saw pictures of this flat and thought it looked very comfortable and interesting. My first impression was right, only once I arrived, I realised it was even better in real life. I loved the unique design - the perfect combination of comfortable and fun. We enjoyed the hammock and the wonderful sea view from the shower. The place was well organised and clean, had everything we needed and more. The host was on time, polite, friendly and very very helpful.
I will definitely book this place again when I visit Marseille in the future.
A refaire !!
The apartment was great, penthouse style, creative furnished and very comfy. It has everything you need, the market rite at doorstep and supermarket is like 5 min walk. I had great stay there. Only one thing that, it's on 4th floor narrow stairs and no lift so beware if you travel heavy. Otherwise, great place!!!
Benjamin was a fantastic host. He was easily reachable by phone and we met him at the duplex, where he showed us around.
The flat itself was very stylish and unique, which was clear that Benjamin had put a lot of thought into designing the place (top floor duplex). The view from the kitchen was excellent, especially at night on a clear day (we were lucky enough to see the moon and stars from the balcony). The giant hammock and the upstair bedroom were also very stylish and comfortable. It was especially enjoyable to relax in after a day of hiking/shopping/swimming in beaches/visiting museums.
The neighborhood itself is quite convenient in terms of transportation as there is a metro station just a few minutes walk away, moreover it was around 10-15min walk to Vieux Port, which was very convenient. We just had to remember the Arc de triumph as our go to point and we knew how to get back to the flat. The neighborhood itself is very quiet at night and if looking to buy 'drinks', might be a good idea to stock up earlier on as we had trouble finding any off license night shops selling booze (in the end we bought it at bars near Vieux Port).
Benjamin's recommendations were truly remarkable and made our trip to Marseille somewhat of a fairytale-like holiday. He recommended various amazing restaurants with beautiful scenery and also provided transportation details on how to visit the calanques and where the best places to visit were (e.g. museums and parks).
Although our stay was relatively short (3days), it was one of the most memorable trips I have ever been on thanks to Benjamin's recommendations (thank you so much).
Day 1 - La Vielle Charite & old part of Marseille, Malmousque beach, dinner nearby la Corniche.
Day 2- Calanque hike/beach and Parc du Pharo dinner
Day 3 - MuCem and looking around vieux port.
If given the chance I would definitely like to go back and visit Benjamin and his amazing flat, along with this beautiful/romantic French city.
