We loved having an apartment instead of a hotel. It was nice having a table to sit around and a kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. The subway was a lot farther away from the subway than we imagined. Had some trouble picking up/dropping off the key.
We couldn't ask for more at this great East Village Apt. The nearest tube station is about 15 mins walk, but the orange line takes you directly to Times Square. We barely took the tube though, because if you don't mind walking a bit, the West Village, Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown & even Chelsea are fairly close. The apartment fits the description perfectly. We were 3 couples, 2 of them slept on the rooms and the other one slept on the sofa bed which was big enough for both to sleep comfortably. Also, Matthew was very quick on replying to our messages (we had a problem with the kitchen fuse and Matthew replied within minutes, solving the issue). We were very happy at 11-13 E. 3rd Street!
Mycket trafik, sena kvällar o tidiga mornar.
We had a great week's stay in Matthew's flat. The location is convenient for subway (a short walk) and there are various grocery stores etc nearby. The bedrooms are comfortable and no more noisy than you'd expect anywhere in a big city so sleeping wasn't a problem. The kitchen is well equipped and the living area is comfortable and spacious.
We paid for the space, which we got, but the cost was a long walk from the subway and a very noisy corner (although the white noise machine in one of the bedrooms was a huge help). The building is old and a bit run down (and not in the East Village but in Alphabet City so you don't get that trendy vibe) but we never felt unsafe and the apartment itself has what it says it does - the basics with no frills. Communication was a bit challenging towards the end but key pick up was easy. Personally I don't think the value for money is great here given the distance to the subway especially but maybe this is just us and our bad luck in having bitterly cold weather and snow to walk through.
