This comfortable modern apartment is on the second floor of our house in the upcoming neighborhood called De Baarsjes
with a lot of Amsterdamse School architecture.
We offer a quiet apartment with view at the garden, 2 bedrooms with wash stand, a large living room, entrance hall, a fully equipped kitchen, a private toilet and shower. The ap has his own entrance,
You can use the full equipped kitchen (coffee machine, water cooker for tea, a fridge, washing machine etc.)
In the large living room there is a 4th bed and a balcony at the garden side and at the front side of the house.
There is WIFI, a take one/leave one book shelf and city guides.
Around the corner there is a good place for breakfast called Buon Giorno.
And lots of small restaurants, coffee bars and café's where you can eat en drink for good prices.
Big and small shops are nearby for foodstuffs and all other things you need
There is parking possibility in front of the house, but for longer stay we advice you to go to the Park&Ride called Bos en Lommer at the Leeuwendalersweg 23 b (€ 8,00 a day) and tram 7 takes you back to my house.
My house is located near the city centre: the Dam Square is 5 minutes by tram (line 13 and 14), 20 minutes walking or 5 minutes by bike (rental round the corner). If you choose the other direction take tram 7 and it brings you in 5’ to the Leidseplein (lots of shopping, main theatre, cinemas and of course Paradiso and the Melkweg for music). Line 12 brings you in 5’ to the main museums like Van Gogh Museum, Rijks Museum, Stedelijk Museum and one of the best concert halls of the world, the Concertgebouw for classical music.
I like my neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is upcoming with a multi-culti mix of people, shops, galleries restaurants, coffe bars and café's. Good trendy places for coffee, lunch, diner and dancing florish (see guidebook). We do not have to leave our hood for an evening out! But if we want to go out (art, clubbing, theatre, parks, cinema) in other parts of town, it is all very near!
I love to welcome you, inform you about our city and hear from you how you experience Amsterdam. We speak English, French and German.
P.S. We also offer a room for 2 persons at the first floor with private entrance, toilet and shower. See airbnb.nl/rooms/445660

We were welcomed by Helen’s daughter who was very friendly and helpful. She helped run us through how everything works and informed us about the city. The house is lovely just as it is in the picture, perfect for four people, easy to reach by tram and very well equipment.
It was our first time using Airbnb and we would definitely recommend staying here and had a great time.
Despite the fact that we arrived early, Heleen was extremely friendly and helpful in getting us set up in the apartment. She ensured we were familiar with all the necessities and couldn't be more helpful in offering more assistance if required.
The apartment was fantastic with loads of room & functionality (and heating!) in one of the nicest areas in Amsterdam, outside the city centre so that it was quiet and had its own personality but close enough such that it was easy to get into the centre.
Overall, could not recommend this apartment more, for price and quality and the accommodating host!
We had a lovely stay at the apartment. Heleen and her husband were very helpful with our queries. There is an excellent supermarket just round the corner, and a lovely bakery (Stach). There are frequent teams into the centre.
Heleen gave us a very warm welcome. She helped us to find the best places in town. The appartment is nice with stylish funiture and nice pieces of art. The kitchen was well equipped.
It was great a experience staying with Heleen, even though our flight got delayed for 45mins, she was greeting us at the door when we arrived and showed everything around the apartment, even got us a quick bite to eat. The apartment was spacious, tidy and cute in a way specially the balcony where you can have your breakfast. We wish you all the best with your future (website hidden): The books around the apartment are so much FUN and had a great time browsing them. Thank you.
Heleen made our stay enjoyable with good local information and a very clean apartment

Hi, my name is Heleen and I live my (mostly) happy life in Amsterdam with my partner and two daughters of 18 and 15 years. I came to his city in 1982 and probably will never leave anymore. I love my city, my house, my family, my friends and many other things. Really Amsterdam, ‘ the biggest village on earth’, offers so many beautiful things. We love to bike down town for coffee, shopping at the organic Noord Market or the so called Nine Streets, strolling in the Vondelpark, going to Paradiso or theatre with our daughters. Many times we feel like tourists in our own town!
I was educated as teacher French and Dutch but switched to the fashion industry as there was not enough work in teaching at that time. As a fashion agent I sell woman clothes to shops. As my business becomes more difficult the last year I decided to start b&b, and I love it.
I also love to go hiking in the Alps or reading my books in our beach hut at half an hour from where we live.
I love going to cinema especially documentaries and art house films, and: yoga, meeting family and friends.
If you stay with us, there is a big chance that you meet my partner Karel as well. His work is project manager for art in public space. He is even a more enthousiatic mountaineer as I am: he also loves to climb the rocks as well. And when I am reading my book he is a probably out for sailing on the sea in his Laser.
My two daughters can give you the best advices where to spend your money with shopping. They are working hard at school and dreaming and saving money for their round-the-world-trip within a few years.
Our two cats like sleeping very much.
