The Space

The house has a open kitchen, dining room and living-room, a bathroom with a bathtub and shower. The exterior also has a hot water shower with magnificent views to the south.

The mezanine has an open space in the living room where can sleep 4/5 people and a small bedroom semi-closed, all with mats on the wooden floor.

Out of the house there is a new porch with a big table and three grass terraces to the south. A sand area, swing and barbeeue.

Notice that children up to 3 years is free, 3 to 10 half price, and that the house isn't finished 100%.

The house has been entirely made by myself and Nuria, my wife, before having children, as both are architects but also hard workers!

Getting around

It's a great little mountain paradise for relaxing in the company of cows, birds and other animals. Close to National Park Aigüestortes, do not even get there to enjoy the scenery, water canyons, pathways, fountains, or many places for a swim in fresh water.

  • David's little house perched up high in the foothills of the Pyrenees in the small village of Cervoles is a charming and fantastic get-away. The views are absolutely incredible and exploring the surrounding area is well worth at least a few days. We spent at week in Cervoles hiking and going for many of David's recommended drives through the countryside. Our best hikes were in Val Fossa near the teleferico (which was closed) to Estany Gento and hiking in St. Mauricio National Park, both well worth it. Wandering around Cervoles to the ruins of it's small church and surrounding high points was amazing. The house is well equipped and has a fantastic outdoor hot shower which you should not miss (we never even used the one inside!). Even though the house is not quite finished and the drive up is a little intense (at least the first time), it is a magical place that we will never forget! Communicating with David was easy and his notes were very helpful. A great stay, hope we can make it back someday!

  • True and wonderful peace and quiet. A perfect way to escape the city life and head into the mountains and discover a whole new part of Spain.

David's place is simple yet it has everything you need to enjoy life in the mountains. The kitchen is fully equipped to handle some nice Spanish home cooking. The rest of the mountaintop town is very quiet and provides for an interesting adventure, walk around and check it out. There are also some really nice hikes close by and if you fancy full day hikes, there are hundreds in the area.

We arrived by rental car which was fairly simple and took about 3-4 hours from Barcelona. The roads are marked well and with the help of (website hidden), you can find it no problem.

Extra fun bonus are the cows roaming around free inside the town, nice little surprise to open the blinds and find a cow staring at you :-)

I would recommend this place highly to anyone seeking an escape, nature and the stars at night will be your friends during your stay.

  • This accommodation is for the traveller looking for an experience off the main roads. The accommodation is basic but very cosy - wood fire to warm the toes, great hot water, and exceptional views to take in while sipping red wine!
Supermarket shop before you get there - this place is not a shopping precinct - but it is easy to walk off the gourmet meal you prepare with some easy gradient walks to an exceptional viewpoint.

  • Lovely house on the edge of a rock at 1200 m height with a view that can't be described in words. Easy and straight dialog with David made the time perfect.

  • This was my 2nd time back to the Watchtower. This mountain escape is everything we needed. We relished in the stunning views, cozy fires in the wood stove, hot refreshing outside showers, and rejuvenating baths in the spacious bathtub. It is sanctuary away from the city and all its noise. We will for sure be back again!
