About this listing
My house is in a quiet street but only walking distance from the center of Ghent. Public transport is close by. Check in is flexible, just ask for it when you make your reservation.
You will have a separate room on the secondfloor. I have wireless internet available. I hope you're not allergic to dogs, because I have one little perky Border Collie mut.
The price for one night is about the price for a couple of Irish Coffees per person.
If you like, you can add a tip in my 'tip-can' as I explain in my profile so you can spend what you think it was worth and what you can afford.
Check in on weekdays is between 18 and 20 o'clock and in weekends preferably before 12 o'clock. Feel free to ask for deviations as soon as possible so we can check what suits best for the both of us.
Please feel free to ask for anything you like, prefer, if you're a vegetarian or have allergies, so we can try to make your stay up to your standards.
To give you a short preview about our wonderful city, just type the search term Gent on youtube.
Anyway, enough said, come and check it out for yourself, I will gladly show you around the town.
Smoking is allowed, but only outside on the terrace.
If possible, take off your shoes when it's rainy or snowy outside.
Please, if you come in, don't pay attention to my dog until she calmed down as she is still learning not to beg for attention.
The only other house rule is 'What happens in Ghent, stays in Ghent'.
Sas and her boyfriend made us feel very welcome. In the morning we drank a 'tas koffie' (which is Flemish for a cup of coffee) together. The dog Sas keeps is the sweetest and funniest we've ever seen! The travel books about Ghent we could borrow from Sas were really helpful. She also gave us good recommendation, like the 'use it map' which is a really nice map of the city made by locals.
The room is simple and quite bright, so that's something to keep in mind.
I had a great time at her place! It's so beautifully done, it's an amazingly peaceful place to stay. You can hear the waterfall from the bedroom window. Her pup is so sweet, I wanted to take her with me!! It's in a great location, easy to get to by bus and easy to get to nearby Bruges. Thank you!!
Staying one week with Sas in Ghent was a great experience! I enjoyed the Gentse feesten a lot. Sas is a very easy going host and I fell in love with her dog Paille! We had a lot of fun walking in the park and playing together. The house is beautifully decorated and the room is very calm and perfect to rest. Only 10 minutes to the city center by bike (that I could borrow from Sas, thanks!) or tram. Highly recommended!
Sas is an excellent host with a beautiful home. I would definitely recommend this room!
I had a very relaxed and nice stay at Sas House. I arrived late, but she was very flexible with the arrival-times.
J'étais très contente du séjour chez Sas.
Très agréable accueil, ainsi que le lit était super confortable!
Ils sont très gentil hôtes, et je passais un bon moment a Gant.
About the Host, Sas
I'm saving up to travel to the US next spring, the length of the trip will depend on the amount of people staying in my home.
I'ld like to do part of the 66 and some of the national parcs.
I'm charging less than a youth hostel for a private room. A 'tip-can' will be in your bed room, so that, if you appreciate your stay, you can add what you can miss or if you like to grab a late night snack or a drink, you can, if you want, add also a coin. Smoking is allowed, but only on the terrace. I have one other house rule: 'What happens in Ghent, stays in Ghent'.
So, I hope I can welcome you one day at our lovely city and show you around my house, the places to see, ...
