Brynn's apartment gets top rating for being quiet and being surrounded by trees, yet close to shops and easy access to downtown. Glad she's had great reviews by so many others, but personally I found it disappointing. It is smaller than the photos seem, and while I liked the funky furniture (including the old metal desk!) in the photos, there is no table to eat at and because the desk faces the window, the sofa faces the wall. So, without sitting at the desk, its hard to enjoy the view. The apartment was clean, and thoughtfully stocked with some essentials, but needs freshening up. Given the wide variety of marks on all the walls, it's hard to imagine how many years have passed since the last paint job. Painters and plasterers were in and out while I was there, so perhaps all that will be done before the next guests arrive.
Brynn's place was awesome, and she made everything from our initial inquiries about her place all the way through to us checking out SO easy! The place was adorable and in a great location. It was truly a pleasure to stay there. Would definitely stay again if I'm ever back in the area.
Brynn's place was very quiet and comfortable. I would definitely return!
Cozy and quiet, good location but rather shabby
My daughter and I highly recommend Brynn's quiet and cozy residence. Brynn was clear, kind, prompt, flexible, and generous. I was trying to surprise my hard-working daughter with a few days of rest and relaxation in a lovely setting by showing up in DC from Lagos, Nigeria. Brynn took the project to heart and - while she was always professional and appropriate - did everything she could to help me get this done. I am grateful to her for her kindness.
We found the apartment building to be calm and beautifully kept, and Brynn a very thoughtful host. Though she could not meet us, she left clear instructions that got us into the apartment without a hitch. A parking pass and information on speedy wireless internet was clear and put where we could not miss them. Both adjustable heating (our stay was in January) and cable worked like a charm.
The apartment is lovely. The picture window in her parlor gives an unobstructed view of Rock Creek Park during the day, and twinkles of residential Washington at night. The walls display a range of surprises from a Mardi Gras mask in the dressing room, to framed sheet music from the 30's and 40's in the bedroom. The full kitchen is clean and inviting, and inspires cooking, if one is so inclined.
There is even a roll-up piano that we never got a chance to use. Maybe next time.
We really enjoyed our stay at Brynn's apartment while attending a professional conference nearby. The apartment was clean and well-stocked and is in a perfect location - a very quick walk into the heart of Adams Morgan and a slightly longer but pleasant walk to the Metro in Woodley Park. The view of Rock Creek Park out the window was amazing. Brynn was very friendly and is a pro-Air BnB host. She was extremely responsive to our last minute request to host another friend and left us a bottle of sparkling wine to help celebrate New Years! Thank you so much for hosing us, Brynn!
Brynn was amazing. Great communication and she was really quick to reply if we had a question. The apartment was clean and being able to park the car at the building was a big bonus for us on our road trip. Easy walk to the zoo, restaurants, bars, shops and metro. We walked everywhere while we were there (although we did have sore legs by the 4th day).
Brynn's place was great. Clean, comfortable and quiet. In on of the best DC neighborhoods...from food, to music to Rock Creek Park and Zoo.
The view from her top floor was expansive and serene.
The apartment was clean and cozy, the view was great, and the location was superb! Brynn was an awesome host - super nice and quick to reply.
This is a great little one bedroom place in DC. It's a short walk to the subway station and the price is great. It's in a nice neighborhood with a shopping center within walking distance. Brynn was great to work with and kept constant communication. Thanks again for renting it out during Thanksgiving!
