Marie's place is simply perfect. It's well decorated and very welcoming. We were two adults and two children and there was more than enough space for us. We easily felt at home in her nicely decorated and welcoming flat and had everything that we needed (great kitchen, TV for the kids, wifi for the adults). It's only a short walk to metro stations on two different lines, which made it easy and quick to get around the city. Just steps away are plenty of grocery stores, bakeries and fabulous butchers with the scents of roasting chicken and coriander-spiced potatoes tempting us at the end of a long day.
Before arriving, Marie sent detailed metro directions to her place and gave us a few recommendations on museums. With those few exchanges alone, it was clear that she's a gracious and friendly host. She was there to greet us when we arrived and then patiently explained by phone later how we could get the TV and DVD player to work (there are explanations in her thorough binder but we pressed the wrong button...!).
I highly recommend her place. It would be absurd to pay for a hotel when you can have your own "home" for a few days at her place instead. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Paris.
Bel appartement propre, proche d'une station de métro et de commerces. Nous recommandons vivement cet appartement. Un grand merci à Marie.
We are a Spanish family with two children. We have been for a week in the apartment of Marie. The apartment is exactly like in the pictures, very cozy, well connected and with everything you need for a perfect stay. Marie is a gracious host who helped us in everything we need. Thank you very much, we fully recommend.
Marie has been a great host!! and her place very comfortable! i had already recomended her to a friend of mine! ;)
The reservation was canceled 15 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Sept 2013. Our family of 3 stayed at Marie's place. Marie communicated very well and we found the place easily using her directions. Marie had an appointment at the time we arrived and so we were very happy to meet her mother Claudia when we arrived. We only have good things to say about the flat. There was plenty of room, coffee, tea and cereal provided, great kitchen, comfortable bed, nicely decorated, felt safe....and the roll down block out blinds made for a great sleep. The metro stop is 2 streets away and bus stops also. Just a short walk up the hill to the Sacré Couer. cafes, supermarkets, lots of patisserie and boulangerie, everything you need is close by. Marie has a great guest book with information too. We had a great stay. Thank you Marie for sharing your wonderful home.
We loved our week at Marie's place and had a great time in Paris. Extremely well appointed kitchen, clean and well kept place in a secure and modern building. Walking distance to Montmartre and close to 2 metro lines and many bus routes including the charming "Montmartrobus." The guide books and maps Marie supplied were very helpful. A nearby restaurant she recommended was closed for August but we enjoyed another in the area called "Sarment de Montmartre."
Marie apartment was very charming and opportune. It is close to the metro, in a nice neighborhood and very comfortable. It is fully equipped, there is all you need for cooking, dishwasher and washing machine (what is very convenient). The description here is really accurate. You can also count with a guide for using the apartment and with tips about Paris! Thank you Marie, for such a wonderful staying!
Excellent apartment ! Cozy, very clean . Marie is an extraordinary host her city. She left us very useful info about the area and the city overall and we enjoyed how fast the walk from the metro to the apartment, the elevator was a plus since we had four bags with us and the washer allowed us to leave fresh for our next destination, its very close to the church of Montmatre and several markets and restaurants, would highly recommend it, thanks Marie
Marie's apartment was spectacular. We couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay during our week in Paris. It's beautifully furnished and very well appointed--the kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook or make coffee/tea, etc. In fact, Marie actually left some tea and Nescafe pods for us (though we never used them because the Paris cafes with their sidewalk terraces are so lovely and plentiful). All the other details are covered too. Iron/board, blow dryer, TV, DVD player, WiFi. This is actually Marie's home when she's not renting it, so it has all the conveniences of home. There's a washing machine and drying rack too (even the laundry detergent was provided), which effectively allows you to pack only half as much clothing for your trip. This is a huge bonus--my wife and I spent two weeks in France, but only brought carry-on cases as we only had to pack enough clothes for a single week.
Also, her place is ENORMOUS (for Paris). Although my wife and I were only two, four people would be very comfortable here, with two on the pull-out sofa bed and two in the separate bedroom. The location is great, too. It's a less-than-five-minute walk from two different metro lines (12 and 4), and a similar walk to Sacre Coeur (the second-most visited landmark in Paris). Another nice bonus is that it's a working-class neighborhood, which means that although you're slightly further away from most of the other famous landmarks, you are surrounded by excellent, but very affordable, bars and restaurants. There's a fantastic little cafe just half a block away on the same street, or follow the street a few blocks more and you'll find Cafe Francoeur, where you can have literally the best French Onion Soup in Paris (therefore, in the entire world). At 11 euro for a bowl of soup, it's a bit expensive. But wait till you taste it. Mon Dieu.
In short, stay here. You'll spend less than you would at even a cheap hotel, but you'll have all the conveniences of home--not to mention a lovely hostess who provides all kinds of useful advice about where to go and eat to make the most of your vacation.
Thanks Marie for helping to make our Paris trip so memorable.
